  • Had a great day out detecting for gold nuggets in Victoria's Golden Triangle. The day started off slow with a few small nuggets but ended with 2 lovely finds. I was very fortunate because it's not everyday you find over an ounce of gold when prospecting. If you like the vid, give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more gold. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks for the feedback Mal, yeah it can be a little overwhelming when u get a new machine. You'll be surprised how well factory setting go. I once found a 10 grammer at over a foot deep on sensitivity 4! Way less then factory! So you just gotta play around with the settings and find out what work good in the area on the day and what you can handle. Good luck out there Mal, and keep me posted on your progress. Cheers, JG.

    All videos of Minelab's success in finding large-sized nuggets, almost all of them created by the marketing MINELAB. Whether in America or in any country, especially in Australia.
    Only a few videos just that I see is genuine, created by the owner Minelab. And even then nuggets found by the original customer was not as big as those found nuggets of MINELAB sales.
    I have MINELAB GPZ 7000, Garrett ATX, White TDI, and OKM Black Hawk.
    And the three brands (Garret ATX, White TDI, OKM Black Hawk) had an average price of more than half the price Minelab Gpz7000, ie below $ 5,000. But miraculously, the detection capability of the three other brands, almost as strong as Minelab GPZ7000 worth $ 10,000. Imagine ... the price is only half.
    What happens, if the previous three brands, recreated with better components to deserve sold at the same price with Minelab GPZ 7000 is equally $ 10,000 ????
    Nice video J.

    G'day J. Looks like it was a very good day out, one most of us dream about ! The missus and I were only talking to your cousin L the other day and she was saying that you were still doing pretty well. The zed is performing well for you just wish mine would do the same .......but then it isn't going to find old yella sitting in the shed :-)
    Great that you can see more than just gold when you look at some of the nugs you pull out ( the dog in this vid ) If you keep going like this you will have a zoo to look after soon, as I'm sure you remember the rhino and scotty dog nuggets you found last year. Mother nature works in mysterious ways giving us gold and then some of it looking like her other creations as well............go figure. Anyway keep up the good work and great vids.
    Cheers AR

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets  8 років тому

      +aar1 Hey, small world. Tell her i say hello. Your Zed defiantly wont find you gold sitting in the shed. You gotta get out there!! How many hours away (drive time) is your nearest gold field?? You're right, i will have a zoo soon the way these nuggets are shaped. I hope i find the whale soon! Have u done the update to the software? That made a big difference to mine allowing higher sensitivity. Keep me posted your progress. Thanks for your feedback. Cheers. JG.

    • @aar1784
      @aar1784 8 років тому

      +Jay Gold Shall do J. Yeah leaving the zed in the shed will only find me trash lol. Been very time poor over the last 12 months or so but have planned to get out there a fair bit more this year and the fact that the nearest field ( the triangle ) is about four and a half hours away its not just a short drive down the road.
      M is supposed to be back in March some time and has indicated to me in the past he'd like to go out so may be I can get him to operate the pick for me!!...........or may be not, may be the general is more used to giving orders rather than receiving them !!
      Haven't done the upgrade yet simply because I have had no chance to get out there of late but will do it before I head out this year, especially if as you say it made a difference. A question in relation to this vid and your settings. You make comment that it was not your usual settings am I being to nosey to ask why you went with those you indicated ( obviously they worked ) rather than your usual ones?
      Hope you harpoon that whale soon.
      Cheers
      AR

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets  8 років тому

      Wow, 4.5 hours away! Not just round the block is it. 9 hours round trip defiantly makes it difficult. And when you got a lot on, detecting tends to take a back seat. Heres hoping you get the chance this year.
      Good luck getting Sir M, on the pick!!! His work ethic is not quite as strong as his old man's. haha.
      Defiantly do the update, the zed runs a hell of a lot smoother with it. Before the update, i ran close to factory settings. (still getting good performance with a nice 11 grammer at 14" using sensitivity 4!) But on this particular day, i was just mixing it up with a different bunch of settings thats worked for others. Having said that, i can nearly guarantee that i would have found every one of those nuggets using factory settings.
      All the best this year, and i hope to hear of your success stories. Cheers. JG

      +Chris B Good way to miss the Kanga's is to drop speed back about 10 to 20km. Usually there will always be one or two extra off to the side you don't initially see and they're the ones that get you while you're concentrating on the ones in front that you can see.

    So I am curious how you made your decision on this spot? You seem so delighted as if you weren't expecting it... What kind of location is this I'm wondering if your luck would translate in my country.

      Its very rare finding large nuggets like the big one in this vid, so its always unexpected. With regards to deciding where I detect, i just pick an area of state forrest that has produced gold in the past and wonder around and hope i stumble on a piece. When i do, ill spend the day in that area and hope for the best. JG

    I'm very close to buying a detector its either the sdc2300 or the gpx4500 which one would you say I should buy ? miners den in mitch currently have the sdc2300 for $3560 with a 3 hour training course. also should i buy second hand or new ? I even saw a used gpx5000 go for $4200 on ebay last night which I thought was a good price, do you think i should stretch the budget and get a used gpx5000?
    Thanks Nic

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets  7 років тому

      Id go the SDC. It will get you finding gold at the cheapest price for a quality machine. Its up to you if you wanna go second hand or not, but id defiantly get some tuition. I can recommend a few if you want some names. If you like the hobby, and found a bit of gold, you can always sell the detector and the gold and upgrade to a GPX. There's a lot to take in when you first start, and having an easier machine to use (SDC) will make life easier for you. JG

      I use HY, Difficult, sensitivity around 17 depending on the ground, smoothing low if a lot of EMI spikes, and a few click down on both volumes. This are my go to figures but setting vary depending on the day so i make a few weeks accordingly. I hope this helps, good luck. JG

  • @zaam2435

    Don't answer if you feel uncomfortable, but would the amount of gold you find cover the price of your mining equipment including your detector I've seen the GPZ listed for $10000 and that's pretty killer, i was wondering if cheaper tools would be anywhere near close to as good at prospecting for gold as the GPZ i have a really old metal detector that I've never used and i don't really see the point in taking it out if i'm going to spend days in the bush looking and not finding anything.

    • @JayGoldNuggets
      @JayGoldNuggets  7 років тому

      It all depends on how often you go out. If you go out once a month, it won't. But if you went out every day, that would be a different story. I would suggest using the most recent/advanced detector you can afford. People have been using detectors for decades and most of the easy gold is gone, so you need the technological advantage to maximise your chances of finding gold.

      The perth mint is the GO. They charge a 1 off fee and keep the other minerals in the nuggets and give you spot price.... So ive hard, ive never used them as i keep all my gold for the armageddon. hahaha. Also, eBay is a good place to sell. All the best. JG
