Yes, please! As someone who got into WoW way late because friends wanted me to play, this series was invaluable to figure out what the fuck was going on.
@@unclemiketheinformant6554 as someone who's been playing for 14 years now and always has been deeply in love with the lore since wc2, I still love to play them in the backround during nightshifts or while doing chores. Feels like rewatching your favorite TV show.
These vids were brilliant - super informative and easy to digest! Totally get why this is the end of the line for this series haha - with pretty much every plot hook from the original Warcraft games squeezed dry, it's clear they were really scraping the bottom of the barrel for more lore at this point already. I kinda wonder if they originally planned to have N'zoth the big bad of this expansion, but then found an excuse to drag it out into a whole other expansion ('oh hey turns out breaking the lich king's crown conveniently opens a portal to this whole new land')
As someone who lapsed early in Battle for Azeroth and is getting back into the game, this was hugely helpful. Every other lore video is full of snark and juvenile jokes and pop culture references and it's so refreshing to see one that just tells the lore without making it about anything else. Please, please make a Shadowlands video if you can, it'd be really helpful! Love the video. Thanks for this. Wish more gaming content was like this instead of the snark and ragebait and wackiness that's more normal.
Man your lore videos are superior to any other channel. Simple, no silly talking or voices. Always explained even visually. I also dropped wow at wotlk but it's so sad to hear you won't follow up lore on shadowlands and dragonflight 😔
I love the visual aspect of these lore vids. They dont distract you with gameplay and cinematics. The visual representations are spot on and unique. Easily the best lore channel out there now. shocked you are so small compared to the others.
Awesome video! I always thought people hated on BFA lore just a bit too much (besides the N’Zoth stuff). The stories of Zandalar and Kul Tiras are both really fun
People hate on wow too much as a general concept. They believe because the story doesn't go a specific way or there are some retcons for the sake of expanding the universe or whatever. That they've ruined the game. The lore has always been implied to at least be Legend
I haven't done the Horde side so I can't speak on that, but I felt like the Kul'Tiran stuff just didn't explain anything clearly enough. I'm doing it again on an alt right now so maybe I'll follow it better this time, but my first time through it just felt like a whole lot of nothing happening, then suddenly Old Gods and the Horde. Maybe it's because I never made it far into the War Campaign, idk. Also the zone designs on both sides are kind of stagnant imo. Kul'Tiras all feel like the same zone, but just a little different - Tiragarde Sound, then more land, then it's spooky. Zandalar is jungle, more jungle, then desert. Kind of bland if you ask me. Realistic, sure, I can't argue with that. But I play WoW for escapism, not realism. At least for the most part.
Newcomer to the WoW lore, been watching all your videos from Warcraft 2 to BFA now and they’ve been very helpful! Thank you for making the setting, characters, and everything much much easier. I wish you covered the newest expansions like DF, SL, and TWW. However, I respect your decision and hope you enlightened all of us.
you know what dude, things getting clearer and clearer to me the more I watch your videos. It gives more understanding on what really happened. Keep up the good work :)
So good! Bummed you're wrapping up the series! These videos really helped me appreciate the lore way more and my experience is all the better for it. Thanks!
I recently stumbled upon your videos and sped run them. I greatly enjoyed watching these and was happily surprised seeing that you posted the BfA part. Great job, looking forward for the Shadowlands video.
I'm happy you enjoyed the videos! I am sorry to say that I won't be making a Shadowlands lore video. BFA is the last warcraft Lore Recap im making- but i'll still be posting other warcraft related videos in the videos in the future (just not lore ones). Thanks again for watching, I am really glad you liked the videos
@@Lawllin I don't see how BFA is more infamous. BFA isn't good but leagues above FORCED-LANDS which is by far the worst expansion and the expansion that caused the most players to leave.
The stories found in the Warcraft universe are by far the best part of the series. The characters, the peoples, and the designs are some of my favourites across all fiction. I've been playing WoW since I was a little kid, and while it took a while to get to actual end game stuff, I've spent a lot of time and energy in this world. Your videos have been excellent recaps. I would have gone on hundreds of tangents and backgrounds before I got to the real meat of these expansion stories. I quit retail at the end of BFA, never played Shadowlands or Dragonflight (and probably never going to play The War Within). Nobbel did a recap of everything in Shadowlands but it pretty much went in one ear and out the other. I hope you plan on continuing this series because for all that they squandered, Warcraft still has quite a few places to go, and I would love to hear about them.
good job man, it was a great video, sorry to hear that you wont be making any more lore videos but im grateful for all the past ones, it really helped me understand the story for this game, good luck with your future non-lore related projects
I know you are done with this series, but If you wanted to continue I think a lot of people would enjoy your hard work! I appreciate all the lore videos you have created about WOW's expansions. This really scratched the warcraft itch I had. Thanks again! Subscribing just in case for more!
At 4:21....why wasn't this in the game? I don't recall experiencing this cutscene of calia being killed by sylvanas. BFA just starts off with siege of lorderon.
bro these videos are incredible, I imagine how exhausting must have been to made it, but I woud really apreciate a video for shadowlands, you're awesome man.
Man, the beginning of bfa still makes me mad. Sylvanas is so clearly evil and it doesn't seem like anyone in the Horde actually agree with her, yet they just go along with it. Her actions should have fractured the Horde, with players being given the choice to follow her or defect from her villainy. It would have been more work for Blizzard effectively having three campaigns but it would have allowed Horde players to not be railroaded into siding with a genocidal maniac.

Sylvanas: So all the Alliance ships were wrecked during the Legion's invasion. My plan is to commence a land war to wipe out the Night Elves, and the alliance can't help them because no boats. Saurfang: But, doesn't like every Alliance city have a network of portals? Couldn't they just move divisions through them to reinforce Darnassus? Sylvanas: Nobody uses portals, Saurfang.
Here’s some quick questions, why couldn’t the Night Elves just either move back into Ashenvale and make a capital city or just move to Winter Spring and build their own nation?
What is your personal opinion on some of the lore points in bfa tho? I always thought it started off strong, but became less and less uh- nuanced over time. I like the current lore about dragonflight though, they do a good job telling the story with both old and new characters.
I checked out of wow lore when they released the cutscene at the end of wotlk when they said “there must always be a lich king”. i realized that wow is game and they’re always gonna put the gameplay first and story second (which i dont think is a bad thing btw). but it does make my views 100% cynical when it comes towards the story of the game- cause how much of the plot was thought out before the zone boss or new gameplay feature? for me, bfa was always gonna ring hollow because i dont care about the war between the horde and alliance. it’s a war that means nothing because WoW has been determined to keep the two factions separate, so there will never be a real tangible change to the status quo of the world. “oh no, darnassus is gone! i go there all the time” said no one, ever. they could blow up silvermoon in the next expansion and it would have even less of an impact. what i should say instead of ranting is; basically that i felt that a lot of the story in bfa is that there is a lot of set up for a dramatic conflict between the horde and alliance. a conflict i cynically feel like only exists because the horde and alliance, game mechanically, cannot be friends. and since they cant both be friends BUT they both have to exist for the next expansion- there could never be a satisfying outcome to the conflict. instead, as usual, a greater threat emerges and the good parts of the horde team up with the alliance and they defeat the ultimate bad villain, and the world resets back to neutral standings. i mean, sylvanas just disappears, completely gives up whatever she was trying to do and switches plans to breaking the lich king’s helmet. which i feel like, she could have done from the start of the expansion. when i was making these videos i treated the story as charitably as i could. because, unfortunately, from my perspective i only see the actions of these characters as a way to justify new gameplay and not as actions made to tell a compelling story. thrall didnt give up doomhammer because he was unworthy, he gave it up for shamans to have a legendary weapon. wrathion didnt open up a portal to past draenor to get an army, he did it so players could see all the orcs from warcraft 1 and 2. i wish i could give a satisfying answer to your very polite, well thought out, and even funny question. but im too much of a jaded piece of shit to engage with it honestly. i havent played dragonflight, i am genuinely happy you are enjoying it so far. i dont want my lack of appreciation or enjoyment of this game (or its story) to stop anyone from liking it. upon reflection, pretend i didnt say any of this and i’ll just respond with this: I don’t know dude, im just a guy who keyframes hearthstone cards across the screen lmao ty for the comment i hope you enjoyed the video!
