Banksy is an anonymous British graffiti artist, known for his antiauthoritarian art. Banksy came into prominence as a graffiti artist in 1993. He is believed to be born in Bristol, England.

Absolutely brilliant...he is a true genius..Banksy sees things that most of us don't see, but we actually know that they are there.
Banksy the elusive graffiti artist always has a new mural that is always compelling. Some people I'm sure may even find his work offensive, take it with a pinch of salt and try and understand what he is trying to convey. This collection of images is great and some I had never seen before. Really like the one of the hunters and the shopping cart. Well done and great music to accompany it.

I always liked Banksy, I still do as a street artist. But after seeing the documentary of the beef between him and Robbo I think a bit different about Banksy. He defintely isn't considered a graffiti artist in the graffiti scene. He stole from Blek le Rat and destroyed the oldest graffiti piece (from Robbo) in WHOLE London

The true genius of Banksy (and it's not a word I use lightly) is that he sees things and translates them into easily digestible images for the rest of us to understand. The rest of us barely see anything, a bit like hearing and not listening. I've tried at times of contemplation to come up with what I'd imagine might be a suitable satirical work and it's hard. very hard. (PS, thanks for this compilation, plenty I've never seen before.)

I saw a mod for a video game that put his work on the virtual streets. I was disappointed because they were authentic, and I wanted to see something original. So I thought to myself "If I made this, what would I do?" And I actually came up with some that I liked.
My favorite was one that just said "Elephants" at the top, at the bottom it says "Never Forget" and in the middle over the image of an Elephant, the letters: RIP
@@futurestoryteller I like the sound of that. It's difficult isn't it, to conceive an idea that seems so simple on the face of it.
@@martinzwaan2721 Thanks. I don't know, an idea just pops into your head, in that sense I find it kind of easy, I suppose the hard part is maintaining consistency. Persevering when ideas don't come freely or naturally. I guess it's kind of like navigating your brain in that way. Sometimes the idea just walks right up to, and sometimes you have to track it through a labyrinth.
And I gotta be honest sometimes you don't even know what you're looking at, and that's usually a good time to start worrying that you might've accidentally stolen the idea from somewhere else.
Another one from this conceptual set was of a boy on a hill with a pride flag trying to fire bomb a diving military chopper. In my head this had countless elements reminiscent of Banksy's work.
So many that I started thinking "Wait a minute, doesn't this *already* exist?"
I'm going "Why did I think of that?" and it became really obvious, there are all these people online mocking the trans community with the non-sequitur "I sexually identify as an attack helicopter." I mean it's just a rhetorical device, but it doesn't even _sound_ fair does it? I searched around, and didn't find anything, but I'm still not entirely sure this isn't already a Banksy painting. Then again, I thought maybe the reason it's not is because it's too obvious. Even though I missed it myself for a second or two.
@@futurestoryteller Even if it does exist in some form already there's no reason not to do it again. There's nothing new under the sun they say - just the style and execution. Besides, so many renowned artists have built their reputation on copying others in some way.

Banksy is the biggest fraud since Warhol. The guy "paints" the most childish and obvious things anybody could "paint". WaR iS bAd. Thanks Banksy I didn't know it. He "paints" against the system, capitalism etc but then he earns millions with his "art".
