    Splitsie should: Invite Capac to the world of A "Series that has not been announced yet", And put a rover or other grid for him to pilot and make that grid explode and un-alive him or just fall apart when he presses P.

    Splitsie, an idea to help with bombing targeting, add one of the long range spotlights aiming down with a very noticeable color. As for where, maybe replace the down facing connector. If you can, maybe change the spotlight a little more so the beam is thinner but longer, making it effectively a laser pointer.

    48:20 "We are a PHP-oriented..." Translation: Facebook gave us a lot of money... (I'm guessing, all the Facebook-sponsored educational content I've encountered was either Javascript or PHP)
    Also amused that Splitsie said he could fly the new miner into the welding array once it was flight capable, then completely forgot about that and hand-welded everything. 😆

    One of the nice things in Star Citizen is, there is a real NPC Pilot in every NPC ship. If you kill the pilot, the ship is yours to take. Wish we had this in Space Engineers. ;D

    Curious to know which Basic Splitsie learned.
    I've dealt with QBasic, GWBasic, Visual Basic. We did some VB back in College, blew past the class.
    PHP isn't that bad, C is fun too.
    Yes, I'm a software developer, mostly doing Brightscript these days.

    I just had a thought of something Keen, or You via a file mod, could do. Add "Dampeners On" and "Dampeners Off" to the cockpit/control seats rather than a blanket "Dampeners On/Off". The when someone who is notorious for forgetting to turn dampeners on before disconnect can have "Dampeners On" as an automatic step in an Event Controller. I thought of this when rewatching AA and Capacs troubles with his fighter falling off the raised Connector on the Moon Base.

    Compromise? Instead of trying the water mod to appease some of your viewers, just build all your rovers to look like fish and drive around making surf noises with your mouth. I'm going to reread this after a decent night's sleep and groan but for now the thought really amuses me.
    2:16:00 As usual, you taught me something new. Because they fit so neatly anywhere, I tuck small batteries somewhere deep within a build and tie the entire bank to my hotbar as an emergency reserve. But that doesn't work if you panic and don't hit the button. An event controller can do that though? Huh. Never thought of that.

    Splitsie, I worked out that with your 8 (not 6) large cargo containers plus your drills full was roughly 430k kgs, give or take a few kgs

    Why don't you make some guns on some of the winnis and put parachutes on them so they shoot at the guns on the way in? Also you could make some targeting blocks for trial aiming shots, and/or with decoys to draw fire.

    Drop a heavy armor block first to see where that lands, then use that information to position the bombs.

    I feel it in my soul that Wrong Way Drown can work but even all these years later I can't fathom how. I think the trans-planet jump may be the key somehow, like a water world is one stop on an intended multi-planet hop and you have to adapt to the conditions. Maybe chaining multiple small planets? Though I worry trying to "recreate" the chaos of the original jump might feel a bit forced.

      I've had the same thought about the planet to planet transition, after all my original plan for Wrong Way Up was to have it so we could move to new planets when we got to the end of it. But ultimately, it felt too much like trying to catch lightning in a bottle and left me fearing I'd do what so many TV series do these days and ruin the memory of something good by making a subpar follow on

    I think water would be a decent obstacle in something like Wrong Way Up if it was something that only had to be dealt with occasionally; ie you reach a coast and need to refit your rover to float to cross it, and only have to deal with that 1-3 times total, with each separated by enough time that the rover will have changed enough to need more work before you can cross the next.
    Maybe another part where you need to assault a heavily defended island to loot something needed to progress(or just extremely useful, like the only way to get a mod block, or a large stash of uranium or magnesium) and thus build botes to avoid risking the main rover. Would need something to discourage/complicate just using aircraft instead without feeling too forced/contrived; allowing large grid boats but only small planes might help.
    Stuff like that; an occasional bit of extra variety, but not something you have to deal with very often or for too long.

      I had similar thoughts of rivers etc, I think i might have to learn how to make my own planets to get the balance right, which is a bit of a daunting prospect 😬

    I think water would be helped by having things to do in the ocean. So you have to build a ship to access something out of reach to a flyer or a rover.
    ‘Cause I think the main thing IRL ocean travel is for is moving stupid amounts of cargo, tourism, and getting at ocean things. There are migrant boats but that’s a regulatory thing not a physics/engineering thing.

    The RBLF notes as Emote of an engineer dropping boxes followed by *FULL* would work for inventory full…
    But of course, there should be a Red Battery emote first.

    I am curious. You who are watching Splitsie and are playing Space Engineers. What mods would you recommend? I have played vanilla a few times and have mostly started on earth-like planets, built a base and gathered resources to get to space, had a bit of mining there and then lost interest. I am more into exploring and resource gathering than the fighting. This series is making me interested to go back to SE, I just think I need goals to go for.

      Theres some really good exploration mods, along with some really good MES modules, not all of which give hostile encounters.
      Exploration Enhancement, Space just got real

      Colorful Icons: Makes icons in inventory colored, no more monotone ore or item icons.
      Build Vison: Allows access to block settings/controls without having to find a control or inventory port.
      Also consider some of the many planet mods: From ice to fire, cliffs to meadows, oceans to deserts, from moods to gas giants, you can find combinations of them all on the workshop.

    about the water mod having no engineering challenges: I wish you would atleast try to build a functioning submarine, using flooding compartments as the diving mechanism., while retaining some pressurized rooms
    Balancing my sub in weight distribution and volume of the ballast in a way that it sinks and floats reliably and without rolling over like the cylinder it is is so much fun (in creative mode at least, in survival that might need some proven designs before construction)
    Also playing with the "realistic thruster offset" mod makes boats in ares basically mandatory, but i know you would never use that (even if you constantly go off about wanting a challenge)
    and there are so many different designs possible, be it a cargo ship, tanker or military ship to a aircraft carrier (using the aero mod), actually needing a boat to reach and haul large amounts of resources can be immensely satisfying
    or hiding your base deep enough that only a properly build submarine can reach it without crumbling under pressure (although i think if you dont pressurize it at all no damage should occur, only you couldnt exit you cockpit without dying, so you would need a pressurized interior and connector tube to the base if you wanted to enter)
    plus, since weapons dont work underwater you would need to get creatice with torpedos and depth charges to combat submarines or such bases
    Lastly, its simply cool, boats are cool, and driving them through a storm with high waves is extra cool, also the combat gains a whole new dimension (as in needing to compartmentalize you ship so it doesnt sink from one shot, similar to how one shot off thruster could bring you out of balance and bring you down using aforementioned mod)
    but yes in the end, wihtout any mod that disadvantages flying ships none of that is neccessary
    (and all this totally isnt just a rant about how i hate atmospheric flying miners with lopsided thrusters because it ruins my immersion, as if that isnt the most boring thing possible (i mean its not like you will read this after a month anyway, so who cares, but i had to gets my thoughts out even if i regret it later))

      The bit that I find lacking with water is not the building of the thing but the traversal of the water. It's either space but 2d if you're on the surface or space but slower if you're under the surface.
      It's the same problem as doing a tunnel somewhere to get past an obstacle. The engineering at the start will be fun, but the actual journey will be incredibly dull.
      I'm still hopeful I can come up with a way to fix the journey part in space engineers, but it's a vexing conundrum 😕

    I haven't been able to watch every minute of the series but isn't this series supposed to be no suit no jetpack?

      A bug introduced in the Signals update occasionally forces your jetpack on when you get out seats/cockpits. The fix is simple: turn on and off the jetpack. Since they had no suits, they had no jetpacks, but the bug still forced it "on" anyway which caused them to slide downhill in the falling T-pose animation. So instead of continually having to fight the bug they opted to go back to suits, with the conclusion that at their current point the challenge and novelty that no suit gave them was mostly gone, and that large large-grid builds took to much time without jetpacks.

      There are a few ways, the mod/script called P.A.M is probably the most famous one.
      I think Shadow used that for her RVs at war drone but... Mining drones make great targets.

    you could always make a free spinning gimble with your camera added to the bottom to get better accuracy while aiming for bombing ..... just a thought
