I recently accepted a job, where I had all the skill and the right attitude needed to do the job. Once on the job I realized the company was terrible, the politics were so bad and the ability of co workers were seriously lacking. Point of this, you should do a video on how to notice the company you are going to work for is bad. Not all companies are perfect.
The people that do the hiring as well these days should be questioned as well, I applied for a job that I was more than qualified for they declined even after providing proof of accomplishments etc and they hired a guy that obviously only lasted two week they called me back in two weeks to offer me the job and I said if I wasn’t good enough the last time then I’m not good enough now go pound sand
Guys who are driven aren’t working for someone: they own the company. Can’t believe he thinks you are going to hire someone like that in contracting. These points are lame. This guy was never a contractor.
I use to call it the 40-1 rule. You’d interview 40 applicants to find one good employee. Nowadays it’s more like 400’000 - 1 😢. Miserable horrible employees make the work environment unbearable. Reading a persons character is very difficult. You must use do diligence when hiring someone.
Today I fired a guy after 6 months which I let him linger. Its funny that you mention the raise first because that's what the guy kept asking for after 3 months
I call the last employer before hiring a person. Require a drug and background check. Anyone asking how many days off at the beginning of the interview is a 🚩 . Asking if the start time is a suggested time. 😮Held Multiple jobs in one year 🚩!
@bbaaspencer1 I get your point but in today’s workforce things have change. I worked multiple jobs in one year due to contract work. One of the norms of this type of work is asking/inquiring about time off. Now if I was working a regular 9-5 I wouldn’t be having these concerns in the beginning and I completely agree with you.

400,000 to 1 sounds like a lot of interviews!
Could be that most pay 30% a living wage. I mean the world stats says that’d make anyone miserable and feel like a revenue slave.
If you are interviewing 40-1 you need to reassess your skills and abilities to hire
Oh Canada!
Union types is so on point including all the other ones.
Lol yep!
Your crazy. Nobody can do all that. You forgot to mention but kissers or thieves. Or stupid people.

Nice job making the right decision. The signs are so much easier to see in hindsight.
