Are you trying to keep me up all night? By the time I'm done watching this it will be 4am. Aww what the hell lets go.
Nothing like some Lila content in a sunday morning.
i miss the kalimba days... i love what you you have currently chose to do. please keep up the good work...i am subbed. so i know im not going anywhere away. is your computer holding you back? i dont mind black sheep lore.
Seeing how you like this I suggest watching the series Our Flag Means Death which follows the adventure of Stede with Taika Waititi as Blackbeard and Rhys Darby as Stede. Really good show and funny too
@@xenowerks7020🎉🎉g
There it is. The continuation of the Sundance reactions. Thanks, Lila.

that's pretty much his Incognito Mode channel, random topics and some stories of him every now and then, it's incredibly entertaining.
His metal detector story 🤣
In Future. When he tells the toilet story
@@bellicose4653 also in his video Survival where he talk about his Story on Airplanes about Chocolate Accident and also some Director's Cut Content that didn't make it to final video in the video titled Rejected.
@@ReiSyre62 Don't forget the Texting Story in "Childhood."
@@kaitlynwickham6237 also on Sumitomedia channel where he's asked about least asked questions on the internet and also bunch of interesting takes and ideas for fun content creation. I suggest you checked it out even though it's 1 hour 49 minutes long like a Podcast but if the content is worthwhile to listened to you'll be in for a ride
Blackbeard is surprisingly honorable. At least to fellow pirates. I was expecting him to leave bonnette for dead multiple times
Ok nvm he did leave his crew marooned. Though idk why he let bonnette live for so long haha
Or perhaps it was 4D chess move of seeing that Stede was such a bad pirate, that he would surely fail, and all his crew would join Blackbeard on their own will anyway soon enough. You know, making the people think joining your cause was their idea, not yours.
Most actual firsthand survivors or crewmen that told stories of Blackbeard were pretty clear that he preferred to forgo a full on fight if he could just scare em into surrendering. That and he wouldn’t kill hostages unless he had absolutely no recourse left. He used his reputation to minimize bloodshed without lessening his hauls. That said, when he had to fight, you _didn’t_ want to be on the other ship.
@@MidWitPride yeah, but even after the crew changed sides he still didn't off him. Hell, he even still kept him around for some reason.
@@2yoyoyo1Unplugged oh! That's actually pretty cool. So he really was an honorable pirate. Though, practical would suit him better I suppose. Now it makes sense. Thanks.
Can totally believe that Steed found the worlds most competent quartermaster in a bar
Well where the hell else are you supposed to find them?
It's like that quote from a popular rapper that the best lyricist is gonna be some dude bagging groceries or the meme about meeting the most attractive woman you'd ever see and she works at subway
It's very sweet how she immediately got super protective and supportive of Bonnet.
Also I don't know if "You're literate but you're blind" is funny or profound.
Depending on how you interpret it, if could be both! It's a hilarious line on its own but if you take it to mean something like, "Just because you can read, doesn't mean you can comprehend!" then it becomes profound as well!
6:00 8:17
Happy Father's day!
Thank your closest father figure that didn't ditch you to sail the seven seas.
This is arguably one of my favorites that Internet Historian has done, I'm glad it's getting more attention.
7:17 "How come you're dressed as a pirate?" - Stede Bonnet, while dressed as a pirate, before becoming a pirate. XD
12:30 "Oh, I forgot the other 3 kids existed"
I guess if one dies, might as well count all 4 as dead, am I right? haha (I am joking)
Glad to see another vid from you keep up the great work!
thank you! i enjoy what i do and i'm so grateful that you're all here with me. ❤
Lila being surprised at how civil Blackbeard is lol. Honestly there were few studies done by historians that proves how Pirste Ships has some of the most rigid, structured, and progressive rules compared to the common sailors in the 17th and 18th Century. The Codex Pirata from POTC is a joke but there are genuine rules that pirates follow in the high seas.
Most pirates during that time were also like Bonnet. They were disatisfied privateers, or sailor contractors that rebeled against their countries navy in order to seek better wages, share of war plunder and profit.
The image of bloodthirsty pirates, unwashed, smelling of rum and ultimately savages were popularised to demonized them. They're more organized crime than highway robbers. Talking about rules, one of such rules were that if a pirate despoiled a woman who are unwilling they are to be hanged.
Yup, this happened plenty of times througout history and even in modern times. Pirates were rebels, people going against the grain. Bonnet is the perfect example of one such case.
Funny mustache man is also always depicted as insane, disgusting, moronic, disrespectful and filthy, despite him being charismatic enough to convince his own country of the most extreme and horrible solution to their problems (he won elections when communism was at an all time high and most of the jews owned the few exploitative and successful businesses, not justifying him, just pointing out how he gained power).
Meechan (count dankula) is considered a neo-nazi (despite being the complete opposite) and is written in the news articles as such, while his criminal records say he was convicted of a hate crime against jews (no mentions of it being because he taught his gf's dog to do a nazi salute to troll her)
Or just look up Trump and you'll see tons and tons of misinformation and fake news about him going unchallenged because google decides not to show facts, only their own political agenda and propaganda, so in a few hundreds year he'll be on the history books as yet another pos president.
History is written by the victors, hence why all records of war crimes, abusing citizens and massacres done by the allied forces during ww2 except the atomic bombs (there was no way they'd be able to hide those crimes) were erased and never mentioned to the kids. Heck, nobody even remembers the drone strikes killing even US civilians ordered by Obama, because it's been hidden properly, oh and black president so don't you dare.
So essentially they had the reverse of the romanticizing with Knights and Rome/Greece but it ended up blowing up in there face because pirates romantic or non romantic is the raddist shit
@@rRekkoGiving people a common enemy is the single easiest way to unite a group of people. Despite being social creatures we can't stand each other and we've been searching for excuses to kill one another ever since the dawn of time. Shitty mustache man is just another example of that phenomenon.
Most pirates had some level of structure and egalitarianism among themselves and their enemies, because that's where their incentive set lay. If you kill your victims no matter what, then they have no incentive to cooperate and tell you where they keep the best loot. You need to hold something back in order to have effective threats. Likewise, a pirate captain who treated his crew unfairly would not be captain for long, because he's literally leading a whole group of people who have already demonstrated a willingness to rebel violently against authority.
Most social structures are ultimately the result of the incentives that the people within them are working under. When power is concentrated, the powerless are abused because they can be. Because it is useful and expedient to those in power, and if they don't take advantage of that then someone else will. When power is distributed, some of that abuse is mitigated, because that's what leaders have to do to keep what power they have. On a normal ship, power is held in formalized systems and in loyalty to and fear of the state, and is wielded exclusively by the captain. On a pirate ship, power is held in the form of physical might and personal loyalty, and so it has to be distributed among everyone involved.
This doesn't make the pirates better people. They still did kill people, just not randomly or haphazardly. They still robbed and plundered. But criminal organizations are generally less powerful, and less concentrated in their power, than state actors, and so in some ways and under some circumstances, their incentive set forces them to be more egalitarian within their own command structure.
I also heard their captains were often elected by the crew.
1:36:15 Speaking IH IRL stuff, I recently watched his video titled Exploring The Japanese Kitkat Forest [Old ITF] on Incognito Mode that he and his friend, Sumito recording going to US to do something. I dunno if they really doing that but that video is really a treat especially if you're love to see IH stuff.
Also there's a Video titled Culture from JonTron channel that featured Internet Historian who I think it's a good video for you to learn more about IH and JonTron about World Cultures
1:38:05 I actually remember seeing Monsters Inc in the cinema and during the credits they added these mock bloopers. Of course in the DVD they were added to their own special section and the credits don't have them, but I'd love to see Pixar do more of those, they were just funny and left you feeling like you were leaving with more than just a great film.
I am realizing, that I’ve become quite the enjoyer of your content.
Probably the first content creator, where I interact this much even in the comment section.
So a big thanks for this on a nice sunday and keep going. You are doing great!
Edit: I miss bloopers too. Back then at least you found blooper reels on youtube or so after some time. But with recent productions that is really rare.
Sometimes you have to wonder if the stock image models ever realize if they were cast in a feature length movie on youtube
We know Harold knows. I refuse to watch his TED Talk though because I don't want to spoil the illusion that he really does speak in a velvety baritone with a heavy Oceanian accent.
Wonder if there's one of these about the guy who used to rob Wells Fargo coaches in the old west with an empty gun and most of the passengers loved talking to the guy because he was so polite.
It’s kinda funny how you mentioned recognizing the Wind Waker music immediately because that’s how I felt about the Soul Calibur II music that came up a few times.
It's kinda ridiculous just how much of a ride or die the Quartermaster was. Solid dude.
I feel like, he knew that in reality he was the one in charge and Bonnet was just there playing the role of Captain since he had absolutely no idea what he was doing :D
at least until Blackbeard came in xD
Fun fact: some sources claim that stede bonnet invented walking the plank.
If you want a better understanding of Piracy and the era it took place in, I would suggest the three episode series done by The Last Podcast On The Left about Blackbeard. Bonnet gets a foot note since he's apart of Blackbeard's story, but it really helps make the world of The Golden Age of Piracy come alive.
Not sure if you can react to it since it's a podcast and has no visuals, though.
I miss blooper footage. I've done it a few times on my old reviews. Loved it wen they had highlights in credits in the 90's and early 2000's.
I legit think The Gentleman Pirate is IH's magnum opus, definitely should be more people reacting to it
Wooo yeah baby, that's what I've been waiting for.
Your reactions are great in this one. Probably my favorite reaction video of you so far.
I remember the older 80s and 90s VHS tapes had bloopers in the credits, or at the end. Especially comedies, or romcoms.
I don’t remember the part where the hungry caterpillar gets charged with war crimes 😂 must of just gone over my head as a kid
It must have only been in the director's cut
@@Kairukurumi
It's the live-action Disney remake. At the end a girl caterpillar comes along and tells the audience she isn't as hungry and would have been a better and more diverse choice.
@@CruelestChris lol
@@CruelestChrisor the Netflix version, about a millipede that decides to call itself a butterfly and staple a pair of fake wings on its back, then accuses everybody that laughs at it of being a Nazi.
You’re slowly becoming my fave vtuber. I always get excited when I see one of your vids on my feed. Hope to see even more content!
Also 12:30 lmao
Love that they recreated the spiderman scene at the beginning. "I missed the part where thats my problem."
1:36:32 The in the field videos on his incognito channel have a lot of anecdotes if you are interested
3:51
I can't do the sign but it doesn't particularly make me grateful to be a human
Found your channel a few days ago and have been loving the content. Never watched Vtubers before a few months ago, and only watched Ironmouse at that time. Im so glad to have found this area of content, exploring it has been a great time. Hope all is well, Lila 👌
It's always really entertaining watching someone with such a level-headed perspective reacting to this wild stuff. You're the ultimate 'straight man role'. I think it works especially well with our protagonist here going on his wild flights of fancy. He's the perfect protagonist for our age, the Failson Pirate.
22:00 It's not surprising Internet Historian would present the wage model as possibly superior to shares in the voyage, there was some assurance in the consistency, but this also means like in modern companies, they all work for him.
That's an aspect of the whole pirate deal that surprised me when I looked into it, the practical democracy that comes with negotiating between powers who could all possibly overthrow each other. They *have* to make a deal everyone can live with.
So as our boy Steede discovered eventually, just being the one who writes the checks is no assurance out on the high seas.
30:00 "You are the worst pirate I've ever heard of." "Ah, but you've heard of me!"
1:14:25 "I didn't see you playing with your dolls, sir!"
She missed the part where "I missed the part where that's my problem" is a Spider-Man reference.
I’m gonna out some dirt in your eye…
Came for the Voice, stayed for your nice character and thoughtfulness :)
pirate life was definetely very much harder than the romanticised version, tho i would prefer it to the life he lived before
Yet another story of a man losing his way in pursuit of revenge.
Fun fact some prominently featured songs in this video are from the video game (series) Heroes of Might and Magic. Specifically:
23:40 HoMM 3 - Necropolis Theme
55:15 HoMM IV - Sea Theme
If you'd liek to know more about that game a UA-camr called SsethTzeentach made video reviews covering it.
1:07:07 Yes. `Murica.
i love seeing peoples reactions to how Blackbeard was as a person, it's always disbelief, i mostly learned about him from assassin's creed black flag.
Around 33:00 when she starts talking about the vibes of a Dad with no time. I was like, Lila that’s just that “Cat’s in the Cradle” song.
I find it cute how you were worried about the Zelda music, but not about the constant The Witcher OST!
To be fair, Nintendo is notably more trigger happy about this stuff.
Now I just want her to play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.
15:51 *walks into the bar and says* "so who wants to find one piece ?"
Unda da water~
Unda da sea~
The gentleman pirate hums a song~
30 minutes in, and I'm happy to see Lila enjoying this video. It was my fav of IH when it comes to story.
Holy crap, last time I was this early, I spent a few months in the NICU.
I really love your reactions. its so relaxing! - btw i mean the perfect amount of relaxation.
This is one of my favorites you are by far one of my absolute favorite v tubers
So guys how can we make Incognito and Lila collab happens?
Make connections.
That’s how anything gets done
Pretty sure Saruei is a few places higher on the list at the moment. Shit, that's assuming we ever get another main channel video at all though.
The bald eagle may be The Face of America, but the red-tailed hawk is clearly The Voice of Freedom! 🦅🇺🇸 🇺🇸 1:07:05
I already watched the original video but I just had to watch it twice, great reaction
Gentleman Pirate from IH
and Gentle Voice from LilaoftheWind
Kaizoku ou ni ore wa naru! 😂
Is he Luffy!?
Dang right when I was going to bed lol
insomnia gang? 🙃
@@LilaoftheWind I was running on 2 hours of sleep over a nearly 24hour period lol. (I'm about to watch the video now)
I come back after watching to say
Great reaction, Lila
I recommend The Swedish Job, it’s my favorite incognito mode video.
12:31 so did Steed 😂😂
Apparently after Blackbeards headless body was thrown into the sea, it is said that it swam 3 times around the ship before going down ;D
Those stories about Blackbeard are wild :D :D
the "my problem" bit is from Spider-Man
The bloopers reel at the end is basically all of the Game of Thrones ending video I recommended earlier.
Too bad I can't recommend GOT so you would get the memes/references...
What is that outro music? The short little soundclip we get is super catchy, and if there was more I'd love to hear it.
"time travel," which is track 2 from my first album, which you can listen to here: lilaofthewind.bandcamp.com/album/cinematic
i consider myself an amateur producer. i'd love to get better someday, but for now, i just make instrumentals for fun. music is where i let myself do whatever -- no expectations for what anything should be. it's freeing. i hope you enjoy it despite it's simplicity. ❤
Saddest part of it all is that he never got to know that red beard had died
I love referring to garage sale as a prehistoric version of e-bay ))))))))))))))))
Ok just recently discovered your channel with couple videos, and got say I really dig your energy !
It feels like chilling with a good friend rather than watching a YT vid. And I really appreciate that. Keep up the good work and I wish you the best of luck !
lots of pirates from the Hornigold's lot were Merciful and compassionate to their victims, Blackbeard was just the show-off as he did so.
i also think people mix up Edward Teach with Edward Low.
THAT edward was a psychopathic sadist.
I just noticed that some of the music used was from Sea of Thieves. This story is also fascinating to listen to as well.
59:00 just so you know: the audio recognition can identify game soundtracks, but the system don't know if you are playing the game or not. So it's actually SUPER rare to get a DMCA strike for using videogame music in the background of your videos. That's the reason why Internet Historian (among many other creators) tend to use a lot of videogame soundtracks.
absolute cinema... 🔥
Great reaction!
Also, I don't know why Disney, Microsoft, and Nintendo haven't striked this video.
A discovery was made that game soundtracks arent in the copyrighr system. So that why its so haphazardously used by big creators. It would ruin lets plays. And UA-cam would never want to disincentivize those gold mines.
omg. finally a vtuber that seems to have a brain. There are too many that either play or are dumb. I now know of 2 of you know. Thank you for not being another high pitched giggling mess.
*now
lol
Yeehaw new video, and happy Father's day
...the end. Thanks for sharing the experience Lila.
There is an HBO series about this as well XD
This one is very good.
I would like to see one episode on this style about Thomas Cochrane.
Ever played Sea of Thieves? I got so many references from that! Also pirates of Caribbean which I know very little about, hate to say.
1:36:24 You want the _"Travel"_ video from the second channel then.
Been loving the videos Lila, always brightens up my day! As a side note I recently stumbled apon a channel called: "Well, I Never". They have some absolutly fasctinating videos about true crime, mostly in the Victorian era or early to mid 1900's
lmao sumito as mary allamby and blackbeard
It's a shame that there isn't an Asmongold reaction to this video ^^ he's actually in the video after all
As a continuation to this, I would highly recommend CGP Grey's how to be a pirate videos, the captain and quartermasters editions.
Was thinking the same thing.
What about being an 8th master?
Huh, it actually happened, you watched it... Welp, i got nowhere to be for the next hour and a half
I love a good ending
Great video! That was some nice singing also.
Another cozy Lila video to watch! Time to snuggle up with some snacks and enjoy!
Yarr mateys, this isn't some diddlin is it? ☠
Yay! More Lila!!!
Little Button Girl
45:19 Bruuuuh he got ship cucked.
Ah yes the toby maguire spiderman reference 8:40
I think there's currently no more long videos by Internet Historian, so I wonder if Lila can react to some Death Battle videos.
Time to grab the popcorn
Just what I need from my exam break. 🙏
Divorce was unlawful in that era
Holywood is doom with movies like this on the internet for free
4:25 this is a mood
And so...so..so frickin relatable
0:10 monkey island vibes personally
My immortal part 2 when???
Love the Sea of Thieves music
Chad Stede 😂😂
why does lila sound like a mom in this video
Thx for new video :p
