I really like the scythe of death, I would like a separate video about this weapon, an essay with mutations and weapons that are considered with it and so on.
I really hope they don't stop making DLCs or at least make a sequel, Dead Cells is one of the most perfected games I have ever played and by far my favorite game to play.
Some legendary effects that seen so far: both alucard shield and sword just drop each other. And death scythe ghosts turn enemies killed by them into other ghosts making it possible to cause a death chain reaction similar to legendary tombstone, legendary vampire killer whip has a rooting effect, legendary holy water have THE op version from castelvania where it rains holy water everywhere setting all enemies and the ground on screen on fire (might be bugged as sets fire only to the same floor you are currently on...), the legendary stone(?) just creates double of ping pong projectiles that bounce off walls and get crit after colliding with you instead of just one, Bible gives double the amount of orbiting bibles on 3rd hit turning you into a literal buwsaw of damage (especially if you have items for short time invincibility) Additionally the cat will find and break secret bricks with items in walls, jf it's near them.
Also using both Alucard's sword and shield show the Beheaded wielding them at the same time when attacking which I now wish was done for every sword and shield combo in the game. It looks really cool.
I love how they also added a little easter egg where if you equip the valmont whip on your character while wearing a belmont outfit it takes the form of the vampire killer morningstar. I just wish there was a dedicated richter mode in the game where you can do an entire run as richter with his abilities. I'm sure there could be a way to make it work.

death scythe is so much fun to use, but i love alucard's sword. got to play with it from getting a legendary alucard's shield and instantly loved it. didn't realize it was it's own stand alone weapon, so definitely going to go get it now! it's also a cool feature that when using the sword, he'll pull out the shield mid combo to block incoming attacks when both are equipped.
Ayo i just want to say if you use the richter skin the Valmont whip becomes a morning star and the dash abilty (star something something) has the animation of richter dash
Morningstar should definitely be green, and even then, it should probably be changed to a skill, because as it is now, it doesn't compare to other red weapons, and it would still be below average in green. Only way I could see it working would be in green with rampart shield and / cocoon to be able to get a full shield while stying in place
well he is one of the 3 bosses I have golden outfit for no hits taken. The others are time keeper ( had a freeze build with shield so she had 0 chance in hell to do ANYTHING ) and the scare crow, had bear trap, boys axe and giant killer weapon he was toast as he couldn't move for shit and giant killer hurts bosses for silly damage, I guess the baseball bat would work as well since it was nonstop rooting and bat goes auto crit on rooted/stunned. Fuck the eye boss or kings guard boss as well as the lightouse ones though I allways get atleast one stray hit on me.
I think a few of them are among the top tier for sure like the Vampirekiller, is funny to use, like the other whips in the game but much faster and stronger. The Alucard Sword with that passive teleport plus critical is so cool and when used with Alucard Shield together that passive parry while attacking can save you some hits for sure. Death's Scythe is strong too and the ghost bombs are great, though the legendary version is OP. The old good Castlevania Subweapons (Holy Water, Holy Bible, Cross, Axe, Rebound/Ricochet Stone) as the rest of the blueprints I think that they may be useful for some specifics enemies and situations
The only weapon I'm really iffy about is the Rebound Stone but other than that there's no really bad weapon this update. Everything is either "good if built right" or "absolutely amazing" Also the fact that most of them are Green is just *chef's kiss* Return to Castlevania was secretly the Survival Update we needed.
That final attack for the Vampire Killer where TBH does a jump-twist then slams the whip on the ground reminds me so much of the Chain Barrier's final attack from Lords of Shadow
Use the whip sword boys! Most fun I've had with the game in a long time! Truly thankful for this dlc (everything about it is great they really overdelivered and redeemed themselves from the queen dlc and thats no shade its just this new one is really that good)
So this, is a minor thing but still cool, if you're using any of the Belmont skins (Richter, Simon, or Trevor) and pick up Valmont's Whip then it turns into the morning star version of the Vampire Killer from the games. Plus Dracula has a lot to say if you're using a Castlevania skin. It's ranging from pissed that an armor of his is rebelling (Haunted Armor) to *something* happening to Sypha hence why Trevor is after him to even commenting on whether or not you have the Vampire Killer. There's a lot of little things that show all the love the devs had for the franchise.

Does the last skill have to be from the castlevania dlc, or just fit with the persona of alucard? If from the dlc, I would probably go with maria's cat since you can then make a full brutality build. If not, then probably assault or wave of denial since it can help you build the distance with the enemy, which is useful for the sword
I wouldn't bet on it. It doesn't work well against bosses or biomes that have beefy enemies, and there aren't a lot of insane synergies. Still an amazing weapon, but if they haven't nerfed bat they definitely aren't nerfing scythe

The damage output is good on its own, but since you can't use the special ability against bosses, it's actually pretty balanced. As long as we have stuff like ice / repeater crossbow where you can negate any threat, spartan sandals that stun lock the enemy against the wall, or the bat + wolf trap combo that annihilates everything, I don't really see why this one would be nerfed
Dead Cells is a really fun game.... then the Castlevania DLC came and made it even better....and knowing that there are these weapons and especially the Richter mode is just too much awesomeness to be contained within a game!
If you have Alucard's Sword&Shiled,you can use shield while atacking.1 click is normal sword atack but when you press 1 click,you can see the shield efect and than second sword attack.
So the Alucard Sword blueprint is obtained separately from the shield, I thought it was a special weapon because the first time you take the shield it will drop the Alucard sword too, but later if you change the shield by an upgraded version of it for example, you will only obtain the shield and no Alucard sword again
I got the shield and never got the sword, and after watching some people play they never got the sword with the shield unlock either... My best guess is that the first shield you got was Legendary as it has prefix that just drops the other and vice versa.
@@kuchai9909 good point, I think you are right, the legendary Alucard Shield has that prefix about the 2 Alucard weapons that can be activated only once in a single playthrough, at first I thought it was always like that unless I see the difference between legendary and normal shield.
Holy Water, when legendary, has a unique effect where it summons a rainstorm of holy water for a massive aoe burst of flames. This is reminiscent of Hydro Storm, the Holy Water's Item Crash.
Cross is not only the best weapon in this DLC, but it's the most OP weapon in the game hands down. Ammo mutation with crit buff or poison effect on it and you just watch bosses health melt
@@docomega7862 no its got parry on that shield animation but you can from what ive seen just alternate between hits of either given each has its own combos and if i recall they both gain more dmg when used together
The only thing I don't like about this update so that they nerfed foresight so now you have to kill 8 enemies WHILST IT IS ACTIVE in order to regain the damage immunity 😭😭😭

The outfit with the flaming pink head is pretty cool, is that new in the dlc? Looks like the outfit from the trailers but I've never ran into it in-game.
It seems like a fusion between the base outfit and the full trailer outfit. I don't think you can get it completely as of now, but the bobby outfit (or prisoner bobby, I don't remember which) gives you the purple flaming head with purple clothes, so the trailer outfit. Maybe in a future update we'll get this one too

I got it by following the konami code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, roll, jump) with one of the castlevania skins. I did it relatively fast but I don't think there is a specific speed required, you might need to wear a castlevania skin for it to work tho
I am surprised that most of Castlevania weapons/items have survival in it and are all quick attack showing truly shine Survival build Also the Morning star sound like is for survival weapon ; I mean you stand still and patiently spin the whip is not the quick Brutality style
If I recall correctly you don't need to own the DLCs to get legendary items from it at the legendary alters (usable, despite you not having the DLC associated). That was my experience when I first got it the game, at least.
Alucard sword is pretty good, it acts like a combined snake fang (teleportation) and hattori's katana (dash attack). Alucard shield as it lets you do more with the shield. The two paired up are really great. Vampire killer is really good since fire synergies are pretty easy to do, and if you can get the apply oil affixe on any of your equipment, it becomes a beast. Death scythe is OP in biomes, especially the ones with lots of smaller enemies, and the damage output alone is enough to get you through bosses. I wouldn't say that any of them is straight up bad, some of them are just more situational / require more skills to pull off. All except the morning star. This thing is straight up bad, small reach, you have to stay starionary and to manually control the weapon's movement, this goes completely against the fast paced gameplay of dead cells. Even most survival weapons have ways to be used fast when you know what you're doing, but this one isn't worth the effort
Unless I'm wrong it should be unlocked as long as you got it the first time from that room. Since it doesn't drop a blueprint I imagine it will now start showing in the random loot like other items. At least, that's how it worked for me.

I like how a lot of the new weapons are higher skill sealing than the average weapon, especially with their pah of attack.

If u have the wish mutation when you get alucards shield you also get the sword
Wish just turns any picked up item into it's legendary version, so yes.
