    This "reactabait" term is rubbing me the wrong way.. These artists make these songs for themselves and their fans because they love the music and they would thrive whether you reacted to it or not. They are NOT making these songs as "reaction bait" to get views on UA-cam from small channels like yours. While I do support creative commons, I also support the artists, and reaction channels already walk a thin line because their content is completely reliant on artists releasing music to "react" to. But maybe you didn't mean it that way?

    • @TheMuserResolute
      @TheMuserResolute  3 роки тому +66

      Thanks so much for your comment 🙂Yeh there’s a misconception about this term. Reactabait has nothing to do with the artist’s intention and everything to do with how they’re used to boost views and subscribers for “reaction” channels. It’s a tongue in cheek term to call out reaction channels for using them. I’ve used Reactabait several times, both knowingly and unknowingly, and it’s almost sickening that I can have 30k subscribers off the back of other peoples’ success whereas there are so many artists who are incredible but can’t make it big.
      I guess the point is, I’m calling out reaction channels for how reactors use these kinds of videos. There’s certainly a market for them, because fans love seeing what others think (so it’s perpetuated by the fans). I hope to use them to one day have people watch my videos for me, not for the way I react to a particular part of the song. In doing so, hopefully I can start giving incredibly underrated and hardworking artists the exposure they deserve.
      I hope this makes sense

      I think artists making music videos and playthrough videos are benefiting greatly from reaction videos and I think you are viewing it from a very one sided perspective. Artists love people feeling their music, and recording the good ones and sharing them is good publicity. I don't know Alex personally... But I am sure he is happy to see people enjoying his hard work and helping spread the word. Also the audio is the studio version, however the singer "Alex Terrible" does do the DEMOLISHER line without a mic live... Def look it up it's impressive 😂 he also does funny covers and stuff, def worth the watch.

    He actually does take the mic away during the demolisher scream at the end. His voice is so powerful that the first couple of rows can hear it clearly. It's completely nuts.

    One of the main reasons this was reactor bait was the deepest vocal section. Alex has no modulation on his voice during that section. Also during live shows he does project the mic'less part over the crowd. It's insane.

    This is a studio recording. But he does shout "Demolisher" without using his microphone live. Of course it's nowhere near as loud as when using the mic, but it's still very impressive how loud he can get even without it. But yes, this is a recording from a studio and the audio isn't live. The video was made from a couple of live performances, though. And I think most people wanted to see your reaction to the part where he goes insanely low with his vocals before the breakdown at the end.

  • @Metallsturm
    @Metallsturm 3 роки тому +22

    I highly recommend you watch Kardavox Academy’s vocal breakdown for a better idea of how Alex did the vocals here.
    If you’re going to start looking into metal, I’d recommend you listen to some August Burns Red. Their sound has changed so much over time but they’ve always stayed true to their core. They just dropped a cover of Chop Suey by System of a Down and it’s the first time their vocalist has done extended clean vocals in an ABR song.

    So it is a studio play over of shows in Moscow, *HOWEVER* there are clips of Alex Terrible lowering his mic during live shows, and projecting his scream audibly and understandably. It’s genuinely incredible. He can hit the notes he’s shown hitting, he can go as low, if not even lower, hes legendary at his craft and personally, I believe he’s the top most talented vocalist in the deathmetal genre. He’s pure talent.

    Hey, love the in-depth reactions you give on these videos and I'm glad you're getting into deathcore/death metal! I was taught how to play the piano when I was younger, but I'm just getting back into music now (learning the guitar) and trudging through basic music theory and understanding why things sound good - your insights are super helpful.
    I think it'd be really cool if you checked out a band called Shadow of Intent - they're well known for being pioneers in melodic death metal (imo exhibited particularly well in two songs - The Heretic Prevails, and Malediction). SoI was my first bridge from metalcore to deathcore - definitely changed my perception of the genre haha
    I'd also love to see your reaction to a song called Reign of Darkness by Thy Art is Murder. The drums in that are super snappy/tight and I've particularly always wanted to understand what about it makes for such a foreboding and thrilling atmosphere.

    Me: "Oh no... they suggested this one? Maybe if we have made him listen to more death metal first then he would be ready, but i fear it may be too soon..."
    Teacher on his first pause to the video: "It's way too soft in my headphones, i'm gonna turn it up!"
    THAT'S MY MAN! Heavy stuff ain't nothing to you now :D
    About the video, great reaction and analysis as always, and yes, he can really project his voice live without the microphone. Here's a few seconds of his performance live, recorder by a fan with his/her phone: ua-cam.com/video/fCBGdFWP0sQ/v-deo.html
    That's the "bait" part of this song, his brutal low vocals. Just like Tatiana from Jinjer, no software is used, they are really that talented. But it's also true that the bands they are in are also extremely talented, so good thing we have you to help us see how good the whole bands are!
    And finally, you should react to Ne Obliviscaris. I recomend "And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope" is one of their most requested songs to react to, and i would love your view on it because, although vocals are great, this band is a little more focused on the instruments and they are UNBELIEVABLE. You would nail it!

    He definitely can project growls quite proficiently. If you check out his videos he makes in his house he makes it evident, by just singing into a cell phone. Also he speaks English and Russian in most songs.

    Hey, you should check out canadian band Archpire with their songs "Drone Corpse Aviator" or "Bleed the Future". I beleive you'll find them quite interesting from composition point of view and very well executed. Those songs sure lack Slaughter To Prevail's brutal breakdowns, but I think you'll appreciate the blend of enjoyable melodies and top-notch musicianship. Cheers!

    Heard people that went to their concerts after this came out and some said he (Alex Terrible) actually can project that heavy growl on the "Demolisher" part rather audibly in a loud af venue so I'd say so o.o
    And that breakdown was a demonic chant said in Russian and it straight up went full blown satanic to the ears lol

      Thank you!! Yes I’ve been asked to do this before. I’m in two minds as I try to be as PG as possible (and quite a few of my students have subscribed), I worry about a video reviewing that song going up (purely because of the title).

    React to the slaughter to prevail vocalist's (Alex Terrible) cover of Chandler, or bad guy. And slaughter to prevail's songs failed hope, and 666. Also the breakdown where he does those low vocals and the rest of the band mainly drops out, that's in Russian.

    Yes,100% agony.
    The official video also has the lyrics in the description.
    Check out some of Alex terrible growl vids. Its all him (maybe a touch of post process or layering on album, but, as with almost all metal AND rap artists, if you can't do it naturally, you shouldn't do it at all).
