Hiya mark savage. I just needed to thank you again! I used all your videos to repair my Aprilla sr50 and now it back on the road and has loads of life left in it. Couldn’t have done it without your help mate. Bike literally goes over 50mph, 70 jet I thought was very high but seem to run fine 👍

sadly my SF2 died a few months ago. couldnt get it started block was considered a total. Got a cheap china made scooter in return (25kph when i got it, now runs 60 ) still missing my SF2 so keep watching your vids, keep doing them! i learned so much :D

Great video Mark❗️Thanks for the super videos❗️I’ve got to take my little Yamaha 2018 125cc Zumba up to the State Inspection tomorrow for its annual certification so I am taking a little time to go over everything before I go. Here in Texas we have to have an annual safety inspection before we can register our vehicles, as I have gotten much older I find that I check my little scooter more and more every time I take a ride so I rarely find a problem and this Yamaha has fuel injection, I like that👍 Stay safe and take care of both those little girls you got.✅🛵🎥🤗

I just fitted a genuine Dellorto to replace the cheap copy I thought I could save money on. Lesson learned never cheap out on the carbs.

Hello Mark .Good work you do to help and understand. I'm a 50+ old man from Sweden 😀 and I bought a 2007 speedfigt 2 50cc AC to commute to work. Now I have a little problem with it not starting when it is cold. It starts with starting spray and then it is no problem can drive as usual and it starts as usual when you drive it type 2 minutes.Tried with an identical original carburetor but the same problem .Tried to check your videos but I am sluggish when it comes to scooter when I was 15 I drove Zundap type 1980 and it could be disassembled and reassembled with the eyes closed. Please help me Mark or if anyone else knows .🤪
you carb has an auto choke and the can fail over time , i show this in many of my carb videos and one on them but you can test them and adjust them by turning them in or out but
i would just change it as they do not cost a lot and with a good carb clean and a small tune , new plug and clean air filter should go back to starting fine
@@marksavage Thanks for the reply Mark. I have changed the spark plug and cleaned everything and tried another exactly the same carburetor with auto choke and it behaves the same way. But I'm going to check out your video and see if I can get it started but as I said I tried an identical carburetor with auto choke and it behaved the same way. The carburetor is a Gurtner. It starts with start spray and then there are no problems it goes as they should. Regards Janne

Both auto chokes may not be working!
When trying the other carb did you swap main jet over ! As its set up for that jet
I've had 5 cards all play the same way then put on another and it went fine !

it will not start unless I inject brake cleaner 2 times then it does and if I leave it for half a day it will not start again and it also holds at full throttle how can I solve angelo from from The Netherlands

As long as they have been serviced , valves etc and look after then yes they are easy 4t mopeds so just add fuel and away you go
If its had 10 owners every year of its life then leave it bud
I love just having a twist and go moped in the summer
So easy just to jump on to go out

Hi Mark, I have Peugeot Vivacity 50cc silver sport from 2004, and have problems with strating especially when the scooter is not running 2-3 days, it won't start with kickStart also, I open the air filter cover the air hole, and it will start and after that it will start every other time, I've cleaned the carburetor, the battery is good, I check the spark plug, clean the exhaust, can it be the electric choke, I didn't replace it or is it something else?
They do suffer from this and normally yes its the card
Check the fuel/ air lines
Replace if hard or loose
Overhaul the carb make sure float is OK and gasket
They can leak and allow the fuel to disappear and then its too low to start
By doing what you are you like priming it so it starts
Also check the gasket onto the manifold
I've replaced the card before and this sorted it but otherwise try what I've suggested
Hi Denmark here. hope you can help, I have a VGA formula 50cc fom 2015 it has been running 2 months ago and now it will not start. the engine runs as it should when I use electric start, it just does not start
it has got a new battery, it has a nice spark, it gives petrol to the carburetor, it gives petrol to the spark plug, but does not start.
I have separated the carburetor and cleaned with the carburetor cleaner and ultrasonic cleaning and yes all jets are cleaned, assembled it again put the fuel screw 1½ out as it was when I separated it, but it still will not start, I have hit bottom do you have an idea of what to look at?

we now have the E10 fuel which im guessing you have had for a long time
this fuel goes off quickly and maybe your problem, i did a video on it maybe give it a watch but try draining all your fuel out and carb then refill with fresh fuel bud but all in it can cause bad damage due to the water
however so it turns over
you have spark - good blue spark and wet plug
wet hand test ? as in my videos
have you tried easy start just to see if you can get it to start , worth a good bud

Do have a question for you. Is the starter motor on a SF4 the same as on a SF3? In fact is the basic running gear the same for both models? Bought my lad a SF4 last year and need a starter motor. Do you recommend any particular parts suppliers?

to be fair i've not worked on any sp4 but yes agree most parts look the same as the sp3 but found them much harder to work on having to get all the bolts off just to get to the panels and they suffer from electrical problems and earths
along with the clocks etc , best e mail any parts sellers first on e bay and check not from china lol , thanks for watching bud and the you take care too
Hi Mark, appreciate the advice. Have to say I’m surprised how unreliable a 5 year old Speedie with only 6500 miles on the clock is! Fortunately he only needs it until July then it’s hello Honda reliability with an MSX125 Grom!

Mark I watch all your videos of speedfights I've gotta 100cc Peugeot speed fight 2 I was riding on it the other day and it just died I parked fiddled with the carb and got it running and it got me home but now will not start and now wont give me a spark I have put a new spark but I can smell the petrol but not burning I am going to replace the cdi in next couple of days is it possible that my immobilizer has burnt out,thanks for your time hope to get a reply
Its really common for cdi failure bud
It is a immobiliser one ?
If so is the red light on when you turn it over ?
If immobiliser you will have to get a bypass unit
If not it's a simple new cdi

@@marksavage Hi Mark, I have managed to get the starter going, replaced battery, main fuse and relay. Sprayed up some contacts. I am now struggling to get spark.
I have changed the spark, but it seems no power is getting to the lead, what power should I be getting into the lead on the 2 tabs that lead onto it?
I cannot see the CDI unit beside the battery however the key looks like a thin red one.
If I have no power to the lead where am I best to look next? Or do you cover this in a video?

hi mark i have a peugeot elystar 125 4t i have completley changed all the fuel lins and petcock with new cleaned the carb, i have spark and fuel but still wont start, i have just noticed that the fuel guage is flashing despite a full tank, any thoughts as to why it wont start . thanks for reading

Yes it can come off as its q restrictor and doesnt need to be on there

Mark got another weird problem with my bike that no one can seem to help with, basically when I rev my moped and let go it doesn’t go back to idle it’s like I’m holding the throttle and the wheel just spins, when riding I have to properly slow down for it to go back to idle ???

either the carb is pinched or rusty and need freeing up
or the slid needle is in wrong ( very common) and not in right , take out test its free and replace in the right way
or
the needle is bent and not going in the hole also very common bud
Hi mark I have an Italjet formula twin I have a problem that the bike runs and starts fine but when I’m on it and go to ride it has no power. This is an issue that appeared one day and won’t go away. I have change the piston rings as one set on one piston had gone, I have cleaned the carb and mostly replaced all parts, do you think that to rollers, belt or clutch could be my problem?
ive often just replaced the piston not just the rings but well worth a look at them as they do cause this problem and its an easy fix bud

Loving the vids but i need a bit of help as im lost , my vivacity 50 2t is acting weird ..starts fine, good idle, but at full throttle the revs go up and down like im twisting it, everythings standard except for a leo vince,5.5 rollers and 60 main jet..ive tried adjusting the air mix but it doesnt solve it .going to the left makes it unresponsive , goin to the right makes the idle irregular, stays slightly high before returning to normal..seems okay at 3 halfs out but still goes up and down, im stumped..any ideas
Check the throttle cable is free and not catching
Also not rust , wd40 down the cable as it can happen in the weather
Check plug maybe renew and cap is tight and wd40
Then carb off clean and bowl
Air and fuel pipes are OK and now gone hard or split
62 64 jet and clean
Make sure slide is ok and needle is not bent
See how it goes then

Hi Mark, I have a question, my speedfight 2 70cc bogs when it reaches about 30mph, and i don't know what to do, it's like it's always lean, i jeted it corectly, raised and lowered the needle, it changes nothing, looked for air leakes, there are no air leaks, swaped the spark plug, looked at the crank seals, they look good, checked the vacuum lines, they work propertly, cleaned the whole carb. I ran out of options, don't know what to do, it would be very nice if you could suggest something to try. :)

Its hand full to get the right size jet , plug , air filter , tuning and slide
And that's if it will keep running and not blow up

It is LC but it somehow overheated

Put a new barrel on my Aerox 2008 it ran and rode but I put plastics back on now it waint start so I took em back off and it still waint start any idea on what to do to get it running again
odd bud , check wiring and make sure you didnt cross any wires
What camera do you use to film with and what mic set up?
hero 4 and as is, was good edit software but not now, today I get me hero 5 and going to get some edit software

What size jet would you put in a 100cc carb mate tool it off and it has an 86 in there but I have a sports exhaust.. would it be a 92 or 100 jet?
try the 92 first and test and tune like in my videos bud
savage thanks mate it's a gurtner carb someone else I spoke to said it might need down jetting a bit but I dont believe that as having trouble starting the bike still!

@@jakefoxon1759 too big of jet you will be flooding the carb with fuel and the pot so it will make it harder , too much fuel also can feel like not enough as it pulls back

how the carb has been set
if its standard and how you ride it along with hills etc etc

Hi mark need a bit of help if u could help me out my bike got stolen and got crashed now bike won't start engine light flashes orange it wants to start but it won't it ticks over but not sure if the problem is caused by the engine light plz could u help me out wiv the engine all the front of the bike got smashed up aswell managed to get it recovered

Got it all up and running now worked on it today and 1 plug was out of the rectifier thinks that's the thing that charges the battery so battery kept dying on me every time I tried to start it but can't seem to manage to get the headlight fairing or the side fairing I can get all the other parts but just not those parts it's a Yamaha vity XC125E 2009

ive not worked on one mate really sorry but you have looked under the clocks , under the front panel or under the seat last place either side of the rear panels
but I have had a bike before that the flasher was in the main clock set and they whole thing needed to be replace -not good bud

i have an oil leak coming from the oil pump on my speedfight 2 i can't find any information on that, i took it out and disassembled it but i cant find where is the fault coming from, can you please give me some insight on what to do
It's a new one bud they are not serviceable

Hey, my 70cc aerox stopped working so i assumed it blew up so i bought a 50cc and downsized the carb and replaced the spark and woodruff key and its still not starting?

ok so fitted a 50cc head and piston
cleaned up and good compression fitted all new gaskets
you have spark and done wet hand test? did it get wet
is the plug getting wet
often after a overhaul they can play up, you have tried easy start to get it going?
air the plug if you are getting a wet plug and try again
mark savage ok ive done all this and no luck i have compression also the only thing i can thing off is timing could you maby do a quick 2 minute video on how to do timing?
Mark please help me out as with the virus I can’t take my bike to any shop so it’s gotta be me to fix it for however how many weeks, basically my Piaggio zip 2 stroke starts and runs normally and after about 10-15 mins of riding it loses power and eventually dies just like that but through all of this there’s was NO bogging it runs fine I need help!!
hi bud bike garages are open but happy to give this a go, I had this once and it drove me made and turned out the be the plug!!, well worth buying a new one
other wise it could be the stator coil going to earth or even the cdi, sure its not fuel( fuel filter if it has one) but electrical bud
otherwise go over all wires and connectors just in case its shorting

mark savage and I’ve recently replaced the plug as well
after bit of info, brought a 2006 speed fight 2 50cc air cooled, got no keys was told I could just buy a new ignition barrel n keys which I done but still wont start it turns over just wont start, was told you cant bypass the immobiliser on this model, any info greatly appreciated
So its a immobiliser one?
There are 2 types
Immobiliser which has a fat key and as you dont have it you will have to look beside the battery

As for changing it if it is you will need a bypass unit, on e bay bud
I was told it was immobilized through the oil pump it has a black box beside the battery the last 3 numbers are 500, is it a fixer or scrapper lol thanks for your help we love watching your vids there a great help for my bored teen on lockdown
if its beside your battery then its a none immob so ok, however you need to check for spark? then fuel like in my videos

Most of the time it's the auto choke if the moped is all standard !

Yes I serviced the bike keep it in good condition its just the cold start is the problem but when it runs it runs fine.

The backplate of the variator on my aprilia sr50r wont come off it moves about 10mm forwards and backwards any tips for getting it off as I’ve bent it now trying so it must come off? Thanks in advance
that's not good bud but does happen a lot, ok do you or have you got a impact drill??
use a socket to whack on as tight as you can so a little smaller but what ever you can get on and use the drill to get it off and it should come of .make sure its an impact one not just drill
or take off the other side and on the startor coil theres a bolt hold that side and whack on the socket and give that a go

It's the backing plate which you dont need anyway
Drill out the 3 screws
Or if they are not there?
And its stuck
Buy a new variator
Or just in case your not saying the variator is stuck in the crank ?,,
Yes I have the front part of the variator out what the belt slides up and down and the rollers are out it’s the bowl looking thing at the back what the sliders go on

@@marksavage well for one its impossible to find parts , but i cannot for the life of me get the starter motor off the bike to replace , managed to replace clutch etc and variator and belt , but my god I put a new battery on and tried to start it but then straight away it gave up like instantly, mate I dont know where your based but I would happily send my number for a little help
@@marksavage I will do a video at some point when I'm at the bike as its at a garage i own, not a mechanics garage my home garage , very strange bike got it for £80 from £300 because I said to the guy it doesn't run why would I pay that amount for it
