Thanks for the video , took my 150 in for a pre trip check over got them to do driveline oils and that under body fuel filter ( I have done them before myself but it’s a lot easier on a hoist ) climbed under to grease it , noticed a bit of oil , they had left the filler plug on transfer case loose , lucky I’d only done 150ks , think I better keep doing my own servicing . I wish you were within driving distance , keep up the good work and informative videos .👍🏻👍🏻

Had a similar thing happen to me after an AT purge. Bolt came loose. I noticed it was leaking a bit of oil in garage one day. When I took it to the dealer they said they had to put three litres of fluid back in ! Yikes.

Important: apply the described filling procedure only when the vehicle is level. Otherwise you’ll end up with the wrong amount of oil. Even a couple hundred millilitres off can be critical.

Thanks for the effort and the time you give to provide great information, I completed my time as an apprentice mechanic from 1977 to 1981 but only service my own vehicles today. Watching your videos and I'm still learning tips from you. Note: An older bloke showed me how to 'anneal' the copper (sump, diff etc) washers so as they soften and are re-useable. Hold the washer over a gas flame on a piece of wire and heat the washer until 'cherry' red and then let it cool on its own.

RG Colorado correct rear diff oil level is 10mm below the fill plug, referring to SI. People normally over fill them.

Please show us how you access the front diff filler on the Hilux 4x4. It's covered and impossible to get too. The back diff transfer case and gearbox is easy to do. Thanks

Add nulon G70 to gearbox to stop the hydraulic loading in 5th 6th gate when hot and after travelling at higher speed

Do you fill the front diff until it overflows? I couldn’t remove the drain plug to change the cv shaft so lost a bit of oil, new cv shaft in, and want to top up, not 100% on the level the oil needs to be. oil that flowed out looked like new so a full change isn’t needed.
    Thanks!

Hello sir I know this question is way off topic but I just bought a set of BFG KO2s and after chasing a steering wheel wobble and replacing a few front end components with no change. I decided to have the wheels balanced and was told that it was not a balancing issue. But rather the problem is that the tires are out of round and are trash I saw the wheel on the balancer wobbling up and down.
800 miles on the tires and 0 off road. Have you heard of this?
The shop told me the The BFG KO2’s are not the Quality they used to be. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What kind fluids you use in rear diff, tramsfer case and front diff?

Ford ranger px2 and px3 front diff oil is too high at filler plug. Bulliten got us to drain them and refill with less oil, they used to pressurize and vent oil out breather on 2ltr bi turbos it would end up all over the alternator.

Hey bud love your videos. I've just recently done my rear and front diffs and transfer case oils on my automatic 2012 SR Hilux 3L D4D, I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but I can now hear and kind of feel a very minimal hum/vibration from the front axles/diff region. Never did that before. Penrite oils as recommended. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers mate.
