Both nice trucks. But being a dually owner I'd pick the dually.

Black truck looks nicer, the reason he lost is because having duals distributes the vehicle weight over more surface area so the tires have less pressure on the ground which equals less traction. If he threw in a bunch of weight in the back of the dually and tried again he would pull the other truck in circles. But with duals the rear of his truck is too light for a pulling contest.

Best way to see which has more towing power. Hook them up to a sled and see what happens.
Both trucks look awesome, but if I had to choose one, it would be the dually. Something about jacked up dualies that just look badass.

Common knowledge is that wich ever truck gains the most traction from weight, tires and lots of other components will make the difference... a dually does not pull harder but can carry a heavier payload!

Tug of war has nothing to do with power, torque, or gear ratio. It is all about traction. You never see a truck stall out. They always spin or slide. It's all about traction. And the angle of the strap.

If you jam a shovel handle in the loop when you're doing a recovery you can get the strap apart when you pull the shovel handle out.

Lol it’s all about who keeps reaction man. Has nothing to do with gear ration, or power. If he held his brakes and you started to spin first he could have drug you. He who keeps traction wins the tug.
The reason the dually got beat is because the blue truck is an high output dual turbo. Look on the opposite side of the 4x4 on the tailgate.

Hang up the ropes before someone gets killed! Find a better attachment point (and rope for that matter) if you are going to do this. Also SRW has the advantage over the DRW with twice as much weight on the tires. More traction.

On a gravel or dirt surface, the truck with the most torque will lose a tug of war because it will be the quickest to spin its tires and lose traction.
Tires and surface matter more than sheer power and torque in these circumstances. Fun video though...

If your towing alot of heavy loads with long grade pulls. 4.10 gears is ideal for that.the downside is higher rpms equals Mpg lower than 3.73 gears

One resin why the single tires win simple dual wheels float to much ,, vs. single wheels ,, some people does not understand that concept
I know this is just for fun and not scientific. But I would like to mention the dually doesn't do as much as you think it would for pulling because the coefficient of friction is the same. What does matter is weight and obviously you need the power to push/pull the weight. So pretty much all the duallys are doing in this test is adding weight. They dont really give you more grip because the coefficient of friction and adding more tires spreads the weight of the truck more. So say it's a 6000 pound truck with 4 wheels each wheel sees 1500 pounds. With 6 wheels they see 1000 pounds. So the grip gets negated by being spred out (think if you were standing on ice if you stand the weight is on a small spot and would dig in more/break the ice this is the blue truck.
If you spread out you do not dig in as much/break the ice as.
So duallies don't do anything for pulling other than adding weight.
I can guarantee you if you put 1000 pounds in the back of either one that one will drag the other almost like it's not there.
Again I understand this is just having fun. But in the future if you want to really impress friends or people just kinda cheat and put a lot of weight in the back.

The trick is don't spin your tires. I had a scout pull my blazer with 36 a long time ago big tire don't help we did it in the street not dirt. As soon as one spins a tire it hydroplane and then you lose.
