    I was in 7th grade when QT was popular. Oh my gosh! One girl had waist length platinum blonde hair, fake eyelashes and was a deep orangey shade from all the QT! I loved Copper tone! It smelled so good. Bain de Soleil was good too and came out later. Love your channel Laura 💗 BTW I'm 65 now!

    There’s a pretty funny episode of Mad Men where they’re trying to come up with an ad for a vibrating exercise belt.

    I've used the exercise belt at a exercise salon and they had to stop using them because it was thought it was causing internal organ damage to women and weren't considered safe. I also used the wooden revolving machine that you sat on and I tried to avoid that one since I bruise easily. Ice cubes in a wet washcloth in the morning does reduce puffy eyes. The best beauty gadget that works is the Epilady and I always thought it was a great beauty invention, but it never really caught on.

    I had that Clairol brush in the the very late 70s/early 80s. My mother bought it for me as I was about to hit my tweens (when I was 11 or so) in order to help me develop good skincare habits. I liked using it and it got me to wash my face twice a day, so I guess it worked. I remember that vibrating massage belt at my mom's gym (called a ladies' spa back then) in the early/mid 70s. It struck me as funny, but they supposedly used it to increase weight loss in specific areas and to detox.

    Wonderful vid, Miss Laura! I remember the sun lamp because we used to have one! I stayed under it too long and got a bad burn! I remember seeing the rest of the items as a child. Thank you for bringing joy to us! Many blessings!

    I feel like 50 years from now there will be a tongue-in-cheek video regarding Botox (Botulinum toxin? Really?!!) and breast implants. And lip injections.

    Very interesting video. Funny like you said we basically come the full circle with some of these devices. I also loved how you kinda covered the history of tanning and how it basically started relatively in the 20th century

    I enjoy seeing all these old items. It's rather amusing. One incorrect thing though you said about pollution being on the rise. Actually, pollution was much worse before the 1980s. Oh and good news, you CAN still get yourself a portable sauna. Probably on Amazon I bet.

    • @richiethev4623
      @richiethev4623 Рік тому

      Well she wasn't lying because granted that pollution has decrease where we are but in a country such as China pollution is on the rise and it's so bad that the people have a app alert made just for them to inform them of the pollution air that if the air is real bad it informs them it's unsafe to go outside and if it's okay they can go outside. This is why before the pandemic the Asian's would wear face mask to protect them from the air..

    Although now I'd say it would probably be a great back massage👍🏻

    This is scary. I remember a lot of these. Coppertone, I used to dread being made to lay in the sun with that on. Thank goodness the discovery of the relationship between tanning and skin cancer meant I got out of that in my early 20s. I remember when every beauty salon had a sun bed. I got out of that one by saying it made me feel claustrophobic. I have always hated having the sun on my skin, it makes me feel nauseous and dizzy. I remember when everyone went sauna crazy too. I liked that so much I did it once and ran out with claustrophobia. I also remember the early fake tans which made people look orange. That was hysterical.
