Idid 4 sets of the excercises, but from the 2nd set coud'nt do thea all rang of 4th exetcise so i did only 10 or 12 rep. Is it ok? My dombel is 22 pounds
So,69 here.Last year I gained about 2"on my old guns, mostly muscle memory, since I got them up to 16.5" years ago But laziness over the years found they had shrunk to 13.5"as of Jan last year. Yikes! And old man weak ..damn, lol Now I'm a solid 15.75" on a good day, lol My poison of choice was super setting EZ bar curls with skull crushers, then, concentration curls super set with 1 arm extensions . 3 supersets each Slightly sore elbows started, switched to incline curls/db skull crushers and some cable work . Incline curls really pushed them up close to 16", they've dropped back some now. Always listen to your body and adjust accordingly. Fighting old age one rep at a time here! 💪 I got a video of my one year progress to prove you can do it when you get old 😉 This is solid advice here people .great channel!
I’ve found that if I alternate between a bicep and then tricep or start with bicep sets and then triceps, I get a little tendinitis. But if I start my sets with triceps then finish my bicep set, I have no problems. I’ve heard of people having to start with their biceps. Moral: listen to your body to see what works for you.
When I do alternating curls, I like to do so while the weight is at the top rather than at the bottom. In other words, my non-moving arm is under tension at the top, while the other arm moves the weight. Then as the weight reaches the top I lower the other arm. This way there is no dead hanging weight. Really adds a nice pump.
I am 60 and do 2 supersets antagonic no rest starting triceps then go to biceps 6 series tric x 5 series bic no rest thenbdo some stretching of arm then 5 min rest n water and a new set after same as above, exercises are french curl x inverted curl and then I mix bench dipps x diamond pushups with hammer + twist hammer + hammer holding at the end.... and at the end of the first set I finish it with a direct curl (its too easy with 20 kg) and go until I die......
I did 10 lower because I could, then I did 10 upper and it seemed much harder, then when I did full range, I could only get 3 reps. I guess 5 reps is for a reason!
Forgive my dumb question but when you say to do 3 sets of each exercise. Do I do all 4 three times or do each one 3 times then move to the next one? Again sorry but I’m just starting this.
Love shocking.Never let your self get into a routine. Your mind and muscle gets use to it,even if you go up.Play around with days .Monday legs ,Tuesday arm, Wed abs.Next month Mon abs,tue legs wed arms.Maybe do twice a wk heavy one day low rep, light another high rep.l have gotten better gains this way if that makes sence.

Since you're just starting, I think you should complete all four exercises, a "circuit, and then do the circuit two more times.

As low as 5 reps CAN build muscle. So dont be afraid to go heavy. And do at least 5 sets per exercise. And, a minimum of 2 exercises per body part.
