This is one of my fav show from 1970. The raw, dirty Doors! Pity the power was cut during RHB encore... i'm sure Then End was on their playlist that night.
Great picture! The only thing about the 8 mm gage home movies is that the actual normal speed would only offer 16 frames per second on it, as opposed to the regular standard 24 frames per second format, that you would normally find on most 16 mm cameras and which gave the image a slow motion kind of dreamy, but surrealistic look to it. I know that Jim Morrison use to love filming most of his documentary’s material in super 8, or even with a 16 mm Bolex camera, during his escapades with the Doors out in the desert at the time. Too! bad that you didn’t have a flood light while you were filming this in the audience, for a much better optimal look. But, hey! nobody’s perfect...right? Lol! Thanks a lot for sharing these little downloaded memorabilia treasures on the UA-cam files with us. Johnny, Montréal, Canada.
doubtful, the supposed pro shot was filmed far back like the opening scene at the Bowl. Maybe you saw a screenshot I made of my Boston 8mm filmed from the front row
@@jaywhofan that is a screenshot of MY 8mm. Funny they use that screenshot I uploaded to freedomman forum but I’m not allowed to join their facebook group. BTW, I remember when you unearthed the Pittsburgh 69 footage. You and I used to talk, this is indianswirl1973
Huh. Most young people born after, say, 1975, perceive Morrison as a "legendary", larger-than-life, hero/demigod, etc. However, the youth of 1969-1971 consisted of quite a few people, actually, who would roll their eyes and give the universal "hand jacking off" gesture at even just a passing mention of the man. Funny how as more time has elapsed and marched on by, stuff that was considered "a joke, something to laugh about" and mediocre becomes, strangely enough, priceless and phantastic.
Wrong film stock selection. Ektachrome can't cut it - providing that's what it is, which I doubt. Forget color - not perfect, but Tri-X would've been adequate to the task.
I conquer. Jim shaved his beard for the tour. So Boston is correct he would grow it back soon for the final album and few last shows in 1970-71 before leaving for Paris
Yes I was thinking the same. Hard to tell in this though. But it does seem like 1968 Jim. There was a time period I think after this that he cut his own hair after being told that he looked scruffy. That lead to that funny haircut he had in the Morrison Hotel shoot.
The doors are the only band on the planet you can still watch without sound.
You are spot on brother
Lmfao!!! 🤣🤣 I wish I can give your comment more than 1 like.
cause this is rock-n-roll-Bach band
“Just call me Jimbo”. That was marvelous show.
Amazing footage it's like a time machine almost
I wish other such treasures come to the surface one day.. Gem!!
this footage has been circulating for twenty years
That was cool. Man I wish I had of seen them live
Oh god i love that you brought your camera to this ❤❤❤ no sound it’s heaven just watching
There is rumored to be a half hour of good quality footage from one of the boston shows. I hope whoever has it will release it.
@AliveSheCried No rumor. I have it. The ME site used a screenshot I made and shared on the freedomman forum.
@@bootyerbutt then why dont you release it?
Great footage.
Didnt realize he was still doing the unique dancing and falling on the stage stuff in 1970.
Isle of wight was the somber one in 70. Unusual for Jim.
@@clancykobane9102He said that he hadn’t slept enough and was just exhausted, which is why he didn’t move.
If there was none of this old footage of Jim, I'd question whether he actually existed or not. He seems so otherworldly now.
Yes. ❤️💓
Awesome! I love this show. My favorite from the Bright Midnight releases.

Even my neighbors who don't like good music, said to turn this up louder.
I liked their version of "The Sound of Silence"
Thank you!
That was haunting
This is surreal wild, it hit home, like a wantan, thanks.
how people manage to keep this tapes after decades?
I want to see the pro shot footage one day.
Don’t hold your breath, any leads I had on that dried up nearly twenty years ago.
@@bootyerbutt I've seen a screencap of it.

this was back when you could bring in cameras and little tape recorders into a concert.
I can't hear anything!
Well,we know from whom Michael Hutchence took his moves...
He looked a bit like Jim and sounded vocally like him. I think of the first hit "The One Thing..."
no volume????
Super 8's had no sound.
Sucks he miss the best from the west 😝
No sound even.....
@@javiervilla7818 please speake french jim Morrison et français Now...
I've got a great quality sound recording of Marcel Marceau I should upload. It's crystal clear. He really was the godfather of mime.

It works both ways.
Hey Nick.....🤛
Not really much to see here. Just a little Jim zooming.
Jim had a beard in 1970, sure this is not 1968 at the Boston Backbay?
100%
In the last 2 second of the clip, seems like 1968 footage, probably june 1968.
