Great clip.
Awesome! All footage of any Doors member is greatly appreciated.
RIP, Jim! Always and forever.. The Doors.
Incredible footage. Ray at the end of the video lol.
Un poema muy gotico
I saw THE DOORS at this concert on Saturday September 20, 1969 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. I had just turned seventeen the preceding month on August 10, 1969 and was a senior at Waynesburg Central High School. I had not met any of THE DOORS in person yet, but I had a telephone conversation about synthesizers with JIM MORRISON in the early part of that year. The opening act was the great jazz guitarist LARRY CORYELL. My date for the night was a beautiful brunette from a neighboring high school. There was a riot during the song "FIVE TO ONE", and we were in the thick of it!
"You better enjoy the experience of death, because it only happens once." JDM
People who were alive when Jim Morrison/Jimi Hendrix/Janis Joplin passed away, what was it like hearing the news about these three musicians dying in the span of a couple months of each other?
Thanks for posting! This song has been going through my head for two days now and this helps!
That was haunting
The title is incorrect. "The Morrison Hotel" is in downtown Los Angeles. somewhere. The "Morrison Hotel photo shoot" took place in front of the hotel downtown. They band went inside the lobby of the hotel and a photographer took pictures thru the window. This is footage of Venice beach. .
😢
Wimp . Died of eating a chinkies and a couple of halfs of lager
Walter Cronkite announcing this was surreal
One of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the 20th century is how break on through did not immediately go to number one and stay there
1967 had a LOT of competition, and they were an unknown band, but it did chart. If it was released after "Light My Fire", it might have.. I think "Break On Through" is much better, and I don't really like the single "Light My Fire" because the best part (guitar solo) are removed.
@@LoyalOpposition the energy and intensity of the song is fresh every time I hear it and I have been listening for 30 years.
@@ernestintownandjackintheco1024 Right! So much exuberance! It was the 1st Doors song I ever heard. This guy next to me in Middle School made me a tape. When I got home, I got my mom's keys to go listen in her car. That bossa nova beat, the guitar (and the 2nd guitar track), the vocals.. I was hooked, and still am 30 years later. Lots of great Jim Morrison interviews. I try to upload all I can onto UA-cam, etc...
@@LoyalOppositionNo it was released before light my fire
@@rome2000 I know, but I'm saying if it WAS released after "Light My FIre", they'd have the popularity, and when "Break On Through" WOULD come out, all ears would be curious.
Now it is officially released. 20.04.2024 Label: Rhino (Pure), Record Store Date 2024.
Morrison was 27 when he passed away with a heart failure
Its weird that there isn't a lot of film footage of the band because Jim and Ray were both film graduates
To all American big city black-THIS is how you March, THIS is how you rally and THIS is how you garner respect for your cause and yourselves.
I grew up in Baltimore in the Remington neighborhood... Mayor Tommy D'Alessndro is Nancy Pelosi's brother...The D'Alessndro's are from the same region in Italy as my Grandpa Luca's family is from, but whenever Mayor Tommy was interviewed on TV, my Grandpa would pinch his nose as if something stunk.... Grandpa Luca had the D'Alessndro's pegged early.....
Did I miss something? No mention of Morrison or The Doors here at all? Like not even a sign referring to the Miami incident? You’d think there would be in this footage. Hmmm.
Yes you missed something, it’s the logo for the OP, Mild Equator. It’s on the ID
I wish there was more Doors film footage.
Aw, damn it, Jim...
Truly wonderful to listen to - Time Machine stuff !,
JIm Morrison was abducted by aliens.
Jim is always with us. ❤️🔥🔥
Who the fuck drew that horrible picture of Jim?
It looks more like an aged Kris Kristofferson.
Riders on the storm?
Is that last pic supposed to be him from the afterlife?
It was hard to see, was that Jim swinging? Thanks for posting this!
Saw a clearer version (no offence to MildEquator) and yep it's Jim.
Doors 4-ever! 🤘
Always love it when Jimbo improvs hes way thru a song ❤ he was a word man, one of the best ❤
that kid is about 64 right now
my dear friend why don't you publish the entire Bakersfield concert? It's certainly better than the one released a few days ago... and there's no doubt about that. please do it for all the true Doors fans!!! thank's my friend!!!
The Doors Colecciòn has It.
krieger rules!
This is one of the enigmatic pieces Jim decided to sing. Real meaning behind the words??? Depends on what you want. By the way, the book by the road manager is now published in the USA. and availble. The truth of New Haven, Miami, Amsterdam, Jim's dismissal after Isle of Wright and the disaster of New Orleans is revealed.
¿Que libro es hermano?
I read a review on Shindig magazine and it seems that it is not the most reliable source as it has many mistaken data that are easily verifiable. In any case the book's name is 'Behind the Doors' by Vince Treanor, Doors' road manager.
@@diegoferreiro9478 muchas gracias, saludoors
There are many books out there that are unreliable. There is a movie that in nothing more than a fantasy of a fantasy by someone who was not there. The Road manager was there. Likely the most important parts of the book are the five important moments of the Doors career and the dismissal of Morrison as the singer.@@diegoferreiro9478
@@hectorsolis4424 de nada, si al final consigues leer el libro no estaría mal que publicases una reseña.
the little red haired slutty girl couldn't keep her word... thank you. and we hope for the complete show.
I'm getting epileptic seizures just looking at this. Love the Doors, man.
jim will live on forever
But when Ray died not a peep about his death on any of the three major news networks ABC CBS NBC

Jim Morrison said to his best mate Babe Hill (Roadie) day before he went to Paris 1971, I am going to fake my own death, I will make sure nobody will find me and be found. Fame is a crock, power is a crock, who the hell wants that? Freedom man, freedom, enough money just to be, yourself. No acting, no image, just be. Getting up when you like and doing what you like, dress how you like. If you have somebody who loves and supports you and doesn't want a piece of you?
