I ❤️ my 2013 5.7 HEMI Overland! It has been a fantastic Jeep product and I regularly “test” my HEMI 😁. I want to upgrade to newer year model of the same but I’ll probably just drive my 2013 til it doesn’t, anymore, much like my old ‘96 JGC Limited 5.2 V8 that ended with 230,000 miles. MY 2013 is fast, pretty quiet (I like the HEMI noise though) and air ride is nice too. I’ve also owned JGC with I6. It was a a great JGC also. Anyways....go HEMI! I love mine!
I have a White 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, with a Borla Cat-Back exhaust and dual tips, and 5.7L HEMI badges on the sides and rear, and it screams thru that exhaust. I'm just turning 12,800 miles in 4yrs. I almost bought the Supercharged 6.2L HEMI model, but at 73, I don't have "the need for speed", anymore. Great vehicle, and I've had Grand Cherokees going back to 1977. Good review, too!
We have a 19 Limited with a Hemi, well worth it even though I hated the sales experience. We got 24 mpg on a 3,000 mile round trip to Florida, 4 people and lots of luggage too. Not bad for a 360 HP vehicle
I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. It has 46K + miles on it. It has the 5.7 L engine, performance chip, cold air intake, Borla exhausts, dual. On 4 wheel drive Dyno at Skye Performance, it produced420 HP at the crank. Kooks Headers are next with other mods to bring it up to about 470 HP + at the crank, I’m told, by Titan Motoring. Gas mileage? 18+ or - not bad. Purpose? To race an SRT without using the launch control, If I can find someone to go up against. Ready by (?) mid_ -late April? Never done the before in a 1/4 mile track but gave with a 1974 Javelin Chase car against many a better in the 70’s.
2011 WK2 owner here, mine is the exact trim with 5.7. If you wanna get one of these make sure you get one without the air ride suspension, those things are no cheap to fix so maybe try avoid them at all costs.. Plus it wouldn't do much with all that off road levels options when it only lifts up your car for a coule of inches maximum
A fantastic machine, and if anyone is displeased with the performance, they can upgrade that themselves and tune it and make it SRT or trackhawk. Whatever they want as far as power output the 5.7 is an amazing platform to build off of.
To answer the question, are 2 more gears needed in the 10 spd tranny. I have a Ranger, and a Mustang with the 10 spd, and a '19 Wrangler with the 8 speed. And the answer for me is no. The 8 speed in the Jeep is much smoother, and resposive to the engine needs. I have to drive the Ranger with the top 3 gears canceled to keep the engine form lugging at slows speeds, and the Mustangs tranny is quite slow at reacting unless you're in sport mode. IMHO I would that the 8 speed over the 10 speed any day.
This engine sounds great, as it is supposed to do. I used to have a 2011 Overland with the same engine. But this one has a new transmission, right? I hope it has better acceleration with updated drivetrain :) Ordered a brand new S-limited 5.7 hemi at our local dealer, can't wait to see it when delivered in late October :)
Okay I own a grand Cherokee limited I want something more comfortable how comfortable is the overland or the summit with air suspension compared to a limited with out air suspension?
How do you know when the engine has dropped down to 4 cylinders? Is there something that is displayed? Also, what is the criteria to drop from 8 to 4 cylinders? Minimum speed and or RPM?
The PCM will activate the 4-cylinder mode when the following enabling conditions are met: * Low engine load * 1200 to 3000 rpm * Vehicle speed between 12 mph and 90 mph * Battery voltage from 9 volts to 15 volts * Oil pressure from 15 psi to 147 psi * Oil temperature greater than 120 F * Engine coolant temperature from 158 to 248 F * Ambient temperature from 14 F to 248 F * No throttle position sensor or MDS faults ECO is displayed on the dash when running in 4-cyl mode in any mode other than eco. Sport disables MDS entirely.
@@donaldharrell6849 I still have under 1000 miles on the engine. City mileage is not great right now. I'm averaging 12.8 mpg in the city. 22 on the highway.
Mattsalas, it's funny you mention that. My father-in-law has a 2020 Silverado CC with the 5.3L and has been to the dealer twice now for collapsed lifters. The first time it failed while towing their camper up north and the dealer replaced the full bank on that side. The second one occurred about a week after getting it back, just on the opposite side. Again, full bank of replacement lifters. GM must really have a supplier problem with these lifters. Hopefully they can sort it out quickly!
I have a 2019 find it to be noisy. However the acceleration is very good. Where are you dude? Because I’d be afraid to drive wherever you are at night. 😮

MS, thank you for watching. I’ve provided a few sources below outlining how the closed system is designed, the parts diagram for the reservoir, and a guide outlining how someone would refill the tank in the case of a leak. The guide has a photo of the tank behind the seat. As I mentioned in the video, FCA used the close loop system to keep moisture out of the system that would have been introduced using atmospheric air. The how to guide outlines this as it explicitly states the N2 is required. The V6 is PLENTY potent folks. And has it's own nice growl to it as well. Not too mention MUCH better gas mileage.

I am on my 4th GC and will need a replacement in 2019. I am considers Durango for the extra storage but concerned it will not be as good as the GC.
You won't have HALF as much of the off road capability the Jeep gives you. Durango's sit A LOT lower and aren't as good in the snow.

I’m about to lease a Jeep Grand Cherokee limited x. I’m coming out of a e400 Benz. Should I get the V8?
The V8 would be a better match for you if you're coming from an E400.
