Having lived in Navotas, valencia rin ang tawag sa saging yung laman while yung tinatawag na "turon" is filled with munggo and sobrang naadik ako sa munggong turon nung bata ako. Then nalipat kami sa Cubao, bumili ako ng turon thinking na munggo rin palaman nun. Umiyak ako sa mama ko kasi lima pa naman binili ko pero saging laman. Lol

Same! Mas gusto ko yun turon kesa valencia, thinking na turon is monggo kasi laki akong Malabon, pero lahat ng nakilala kong Pinoy outside Malabon, sa Pinas and sa labas, ang turon nila is banana.
I was born and raised in Malabon until I moved out at age 55. However, I miss all the delicious food the Malabon sellers churn out. In my new place, they cook differently that's why we opt for fastfood meals here.... but everytime I need to go to Malabon, I try to go to Nanay's and some lugawans like Akong's and Onoy's and some others whose names I cannot recall. Some eateries have changed for the better, others otherwise specially when the original owners/cook change/pass away. I miss the old traditional halo-halo of Nelia's and the original Dolor's kakanin

For majority it's Turon, but for us Malabonians it is still Valencia 😘 and the Triangulo is always a soldout kaya instead of merienda sa breakfast nlang dahil this time lang ko di nauubusan 😂

The original Rosy's pansit malabon is using egg ng pato hindi ng itlog ng manok, there is huge difference. Also original Rosy's use talaba amd not pusit as toppings. In addition while mixing the noodles you add chopped boiled egg ang pork chicharon. Uhugin pa lang ako nakikita kong ginagawa ni Aling Rosy while waiting for my order. Open kasi kitchen nila before madaling silipin.

I miss Malabon, used to be my home for 10 years.
Sa totoo lang akala ko lahat ng places meron offer na masarap. Akala ko normal lang ang lasa sa Malabon. Pero habang lumalaki ako na discover ko na marami pala na masarap na food na ma offer ang lugar namin. Isa sa pinaka masarap na kakanin nasa amin. Pumunta ka lang sa palengke sa hulo ang daming nagbebenta ng kakanin na masasarap. Saka mga kakaibang putahe like Tapang Kabayo. Wla nito sa ibang lugar.
You should have added Jamico's (Judy Ann Crispy Pata). Everytime I go back to Malabon, Crispy Pata is always on my list of things to eat. Malabon has a lot to offer when it comes to food. If you travel the entire stretch of General Luna....kaliwa't kanan ang kainan.

Belen's Pancit Malabon is Located at C. Arellano Ext. Corner Bonifacio st. (Tawag nila sa kanto na yun is Tawiran Cuatro)
Aling Mely's Carinderia was located at Bonifacio street (Kadiwa ang tawag)

Here in Rosario, Cavite instead of turong saging, we called it also valencia and wrapped it in a form of square type instead of triangular.

Waited to know what Valencia Triangulo actually is or even its ingredients but got nothing. Cool with not knowing all ingredients of Pancit Malabon instead since it's more known and the ingredients were easy to see.

Iyong pansit na puti ay hindi dapat na putól putól sa pansit malabon o sa pansit palabok( hindi dapat na magdamag dahil ang consistencies ng noodle ay mahalaga sa dila/panlasa at sa pagtingin ,bagkus inilulublob sa kumukulong tubig sa malakawang caldero eto bago isilbi ay sa Bataan/Pampangga; imo

I remember when I was kid Lola Rosy was my late Lola’’s dear friend and used to bring me to hang out (syempre chismisan sila) and eat Pancit Malabon. I would always request for an extra Chicharon on top and my lola would request for an extra talaba toppings.

When you visit Malabon it would be a sin not to try Judy Ann Crispy Pata, Dolors Kakanin, Hazels Puto, Tapa and Adobong Kabayo, Mil Flores Pichi Pichi ,Betsy’s Special Broas and many more. I really miss my hometown.
Your "Malabon" etymology is folk etymology. LOL. You can always tell because such etymologies usually try to divide the word into different words that "kinda" makes sense. Which never happens. Because Philippine place names are very rarely compound words (unlike English place names), and you can easily tell when they are (like "Maayongtubig" - "good water"; or "Muntinlupa" - "small lands", probably originally meaning parceled lands).
It's more likely it's just the Spanish spelling of "Malabong" - "Lush [in vegetation]", "Verdant" (as in a forest or wilderness); either that or "Malabong", as in "place of [abundant] labong (bamboo shoots)".

Surprised to see a different restaurant that sells Pancit Malabon other than Nanay’s-which have been featured multiple times in different shows/videos before even when there are already a lot of other shops that sells the food. Our family’s a patron in Aling Mely’s and my fave ulam from them is the chicken tocino (4:23, which I believe they call in a different name 😅). For the Valencia Triangulo, hindi pa lubog ang araw, ubos na so you really have to make sure to go there early to be able to buy them.
Idk if it’s because it’s around the area where they filmed Ang Cute ng Ina Mo (Anne’s movie) that you get to know these places, but it’s really refreshing to see the places I regularly pass by (on a daily basis) get featured in a show like this. Thank you FEATR! 😁
Sad fact: The heritage/ancestral house that they used in Ang Cute ng Ina Mo is already gone.
