- I can't believe I've only eaten at Aling Mely's now. I had the pleasure and honor to meet Aling Mely herself and we had a really nice kitchen and food conversation. I learned a lot that day.

Came across this video and I miss coming home even more. This is so filipino! The ambience, the kulob look of a house in the upper floor and turned the ground floor into carinderia, hindi na iniinit ang ulam pero masarap pa din. Tapos me nanonood ng tv sa gilid, me mga softdrinks na bote na ikaw na kukuha, sarap talaga sa Pinas.

Its proof that no one has to undergo training in prestigious culinary school to be able to cook food that are simply done but surprisingly palatable. As what nanay said it has standard process to come up with such tasty dishes.

We have been there last Nov. 30 last month only together with my wife and all the food was really super and simple and chef Anglo was really right. My wife remembered her late mother because of the taste of the food especially the stuff pusit. Her mother was ordering stuff pusit when was still alive also here in Malabon. Please try this place even if it is only a carinderia but the food was really excellent. GOD BLESS.

When we were young, me, dad, my brother and mom were not well off. Sa totoo lang pag nakakakain kami sa Jollibee, parang fine dining na yon. And we are so thankful for it. Pag lunalabas kaming family, madalas, sa mga karinderia kami kumakain. And isa to sa mga pinupuntahan namin. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na makita ulit ito. If there is something na natutunan ko, hindi sa lahat ng oras pag mahal ang isang bagay siguradong magugustuhan mo. Like diyan kanila nanay. Sobrang sarap ng mechado nila diyan. One day when I get the chance babalikan ko yan. Salamat for posting this Chef. Brings back a lot of good memories.
