I think Echos heads are crap. mine is still in new condition and the whole thing fell apart on the third string replacement. the spring went flying and I can't find it. That shoots my day. :-(
Hi Mark, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. It very well could be that you have a lemon. So far, I'm pleased with my echo trimmers. The echo srm-210 that I am still using was bought in 2004. I've replaced the head, the fuel primer bulb, the filter in the fuel tank and the fuel hoses. I bought an srm-230 a few years back and it seems to be working fine as well. I have had issues with echo leaf blowers though. I bought a stihl chain saw a couple years ago and love it. I think I will go with all stihl products from now on. Thanks for the comment.
