Thanks for the video! Helped me to know how to replace the entire head assembly. The cutting head was similar to others I have used...but the overall view...especially the explanation of the base...really helped me to replace the old head with the new one. Nice and clear explanation. BTW I purchased 5 speed feed units for $29+ change yesterday. I imagine my son might receive a portion of these in the future!
The new kit I purchased however came with a bunch of bushing & spacers? Are they simply spare parts? Because the new head was completely sufficient! The package I’m referring to would be the echo speed feed 400 head trimmer replacement
Hi! Beautiful Install Tutorial! I too am here because I thought you located just that stubborn top Head Plastic Cap Thingy. I'll share the hyperlink here once I find it!
I enjoyed your video and glad to know next time I only need to buy the bottom hub. My brother is my pastor here in Ohio and I am the organ grinder at the church! God Bless you and your church!
What makes it a Speed Feed Head. I have an Echo as well but different head. It's pretty easy to add the string. Just spin the head until the holes line up and fish it straight through the head to the other side. Doesn't get much easier to be honest. Thanks for the video.
Surprised by the religious aspect at the end, but at least you didn't ask for money, speak in tongues, or try to heal someone. Thanks again for an excellent job.
I love this Echo Speed-Feed head it is the greatest thing everybody ever come up and invented it just took too long for it to get here how many Budweisers did it take to create that
Good morning clean and green out early have a commercial account for every morning I start at 6:30 in the morning already 77 degrees 100% humidity at 5 this morning going to be a long day but we will get through it be safe buddy one of the reasons why I like you is because you run Hustler we have the best of the best
Well you know it's going to be a long day when it's 7:15 in the morning already 81 degrees with 90% humidity welcome to Florida wouldn't trade it for anything work all summer long for our lovely winter and I can work all year around down here mowing grass and extra work love it
Hi! I would sure like to know or be steered in the right direction to locate just the top head piece replacement part. Many of us are expecting this same unit to fit on a Milwaukee String Trimmer (the M18 or the powerful FUEL version).
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 Thanks I gave up on trying to remove it, I even used a oil wrench. I sucked some wire into it and I was having a tough time getting it out, but after a hour or so I finally did. Thanks again.
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 i believe it is I think I can remove the drive and it will reveal the reverse thread stud I’m looking for there is scoring on the face where it was tightened down
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 yup confirmed my thoughts drive comes right off revealing the reverse thread nut and now after a fresh primer and a new speed feed head I’ll be wackin n whippin in no time, now I just have to wrap the lines properly
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 Yes they are easy to load, but at times the string gets sucked up into the head and then you gotta take the whole thing apart to get it out. And I find that it doesn't last very long I do a lot of tapping with it
I do have to replace the bottom of the head pretty often but we cut and therefore trim pretty low here. Definitely aggravating when the string breaks off

You have what is considered a Speed Feed. It just reloads fast like you described.
Best training video so clear

all I use is speed feed heads Gerald. Yes they are counter clockwise to tighten. You should be able to just replace the heads at least I can here.
That's all I use as well. Love them! I did find where I could just get the bottom part instead of the entire head.
Be blessed likewise!
Thanks!
Good video,God bless!!
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the Video Amen sir
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!

Get the 35CC Honda string trim and go for 5-6 years with no piston rings worn out like the Echo brand.
35cc is definitely a monster. Thanks for the feedback.
Is that clockwise or counter clockwise?
I believe it is clockwise to restring

I cannot get the head off at all. I've tried the screw driver method, I don't have enough strength to loosen it.🥺
