@@Dontforgetthebubbles I need to bandage a deep cut on my fingertip - right at the end. The PA used gauze and stretch wrap. I'd like it to apply a little pressure on the fingertip to help hold it closed. What do you suggest?
Your a real dear. I've got scleroderma and digital ulcers are a painful fact of life. Struggled for years with finger tip bandaging. This is a neat way to do it. Thanks.
Burned my finger, tip allergic to adhesive, and needed something thin enough to let me use a keyboard again. This was exactly what needed! Thank you for sharing,
Got my fingertip severed from a chain and sprocket, doctors did the second method you displayed, but over the week it bunched up and got caught on the end of the stitches and hurt like hell, so I took it off. Seeing that I don't have tubular gauze, I'll use the first method. Thank you ma'am
Here! Was Too damn lazy to go to urgent care for 2 days. Figured it wasn't going to heal by itself because it was dripping blood in the Walmart bandage aisle. Finally went and was told it was too late to have stitches but my laceration is not closing. I think I'm going to go and try and get some. 😁
so clever the dressing! i have struggled all my life with being clumsy and uncoordinated due to adhd.... on a time when i have finger tip injuries, i'll go thru 15-20x day redressing the wound bc it won't stay on. 🙄 thanks for the info!
Brilliant! Had a little trouble with the healing cream squeezing out, I'm a "wounds need to be kept moist" kinda gal, but it still worked beautifully. Don't know why I didn't think of securing the dressing with tape 😂 I guess I prefer getting mad all the time because of the slipping dressing 🤭
This doesn't help where my current wound is (on thumb but towards the base), but good god did this video blow my mind!!! Even though I don't need it at this time, I feel like this information is 110% useful!
What kind of gauze dressing do you use for fingertip dressings? Regular 4x4's are too bulky and fray when cut into the T shape, so I'm wondering what type you use in the video? Thank you! Awesome video - great tips. I'm a hand therapist, and wrapping fingers is always tricky. I'll definitely be implementing your tips! :)
Glad you're finding it useful, Sara. I do usually use the 4x4 gauze but we don't have the very open weave stuff which I guess frays a bit more. You could try a non-adherent dressing such as melolite which wouldn't fray. Starting with a rectangle, rather than a square also works. Personally, I don't mind a bit of extra padding on tiny fingers because otherwise the tubular dressing is too loose. Have a play around and I'd love to hear any new solutions. Good luck!
@@beckyplatt8531 Thanks for your advice! Can't wait to try these techniques with my patients. I mainly work with adults, and frequently see finger partial amputations. Your techniques will work well for these. Thanks again!

Hello it's been a month now and the upper later if skin came off my finger. Middle finger the middle of the finger to the tip. The finger does not get used as much as my other hand because it has atrophy. However it still has decent blood supply. The knuckle started to callus and then it started to come off. Water got under it and I stupidly Ripped it off not realizing how much skin it was. I went to the derm and they gave me an antibiotic ointment and nonstick guaze and said di t wrap it too tight. But it just us t healing. I spray it a few times a day with hydrogen peroxide to get the old guaze off..I ran out of non stick so I have Johnson and Johnsons non Stick 2x3 which is basically thick cotton. And that's not good because it gets stuck on. I really have to soak it to get it off. I thought of zero foam I thought if 2nd skin. But I truly do t know how to get the finger to grow new skin faster and it just keeps bleeding especially where my print would be. I just got a can of CVS liquid bandage spray. I have no idea what this willdo.
Hi. How to you wrap a finger that has an aluminum stablizer thtas under and over the finger. I understand you wrap the finger first. then put the brace over it and.. ? thx
Thank u this nice vedeo.because my brother inlaw cut the one finger the other day.and yesterday ill be the one to make dreasing in his hand.i mean make cleaner.since i dont have i dea how to clean.thats im here.so im so thankful this vedeo.
Having trouble typing with my bleeding fingers (wish I was kidding) but I would love to know how to dress my own split fingers. Finding it very awkward. Any tips?
If your anything like me, top tip to avoid needing a finger dressing is to stop chopping onions 😂 this is the second time I've cut off the tip of my finger while chopping onions!! Now my fingers will have matching scars 😂

Perhaps 🤔 my skin could be sensitive. This is brilliant. Short, practical advice presented well.
Thanks Richard!

The t-shaped dressing tip is great! Common sense really after it’s explained but I wouldn’t have thought of it. Worked a treat!

This is great on my way to the pharmacy 😅
Went into three stores; none had tubular gauze. I’ll do the T method.

How long does this dressing need to be on the wound for?
Very smart, thanks a lot for this video
Thank you so much for this information!!! Very helpful!!!
Thank you for this video.
What type of dressing is that for the first tip?
She called it “tubinet dressing” but you can also find it called a tubular bandage.
How do you wash a ripped out fingernail or an amputated fingertip?
I hope you got all that taken care of!
How is your hand?
T shape made more sense.the other "hacks" sucks. But im rushing now. Have to do it later or when i come home. Hope it holds up for the shower....
Thank u very much maam for your nice vedeo for me.god bless.
