Mosh! They can try other variants of Anthrax too with Anthrax & Public Enemy - Bring The Noise or SOD/MOD. I like the song The March of the SOD into Sergeant D.
Honestly, I wouldn't do the split public anyway, just mix it up, so everybody's got a chance. Underground can be 66 tape copies only, so it's a question of definition. If the mix is good and it's starting to get there, there's no need in explaining what is what.
Okay when are you guys going to listen to one of the legends of metal, Dio? Rainbow In the Dark is iconic and I think you guys will love it. Great song, great singer, great lyrics. Trust me, it needs to be on your list.
I don't know if you go back and read the comments from earlier videos but I feel the need to tell you that as a fan of this type of music (30+ years now) that I'm thoroughly impressed with your musical insight and the breadth of styles that you have and continue to explore. You're a couple of souls after my own heart. Open, honest and fans of the best music around. Thank you for doing what you do...You make the long overnight shifts at work so much more endurable and less lonely.
and it was far from cheesy, other than some humor in the video. Unless he is thinking of I Am The Man, which was just Anthrax themselves, which was a bit more "jokey".
Y'all are Killin it, bring back memories getting ready to get in my Anthrax collection. One of my favorites is Medusa. Stuff with John Bush is good too. Black Lodge the list goes on.
I’m not the biggest Anthrax fan, but man I’ve gotta respect Joey Belladonna for his voice - such a massive range even after almost 40 years, dude is seriously talented. Watch him singing Star Spangled Banner, I’m not even American but shit gave me goosebumps.
I love you guys’ videos. I am a devout Christian metalhead and your commentary is always relevant. Metal deals with a lot of relevant stuff not talked about in other music so a lot of people mischaracterize all of it as evil (which it isn’t- Mastodon and Gojira lyrics are less sin-infused than Elton John lyrics). You guys do a great job of covering music and providing sincere commentary,
Anthrax are awesome live, saw them in the Slayer farewell tour, Joey Belladonna has an insane voice, by the way try, I Am The Law, I'm Alive, Blood by them
I'm glad you were able to do an Anthrax song. They don't get the same love as some of the other thrash bands, but I'll always have a soft spot for them, since they were my gateway into thrash. Anthrax always had a level of humor about them. They weren't afraid to be goofballs or lampoon themselves. At the same time, they would address real social issues with some songs. All their albums from Spreading the Disease through Persistence of Time are pretty rad. Another East Coast band that merits a listen is Overkill. They're still around, still bad asses.
Anthrax - Indians, Skeletons in the Closet and In the End Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer are know as "The Big 4" because they were the bands that created/founded thrash metal in the early 80's.
While you're doing thrash how about Kreator, Destruction, Testament, Death Angel, Dark Angel, Flotsam and Jetsam, Exodus, Overkill, Sodom, Merciful Fate, Metal Church, Suicidal Tendencies, Nuclear Assault
*Mercyful Fate. Back in the late 80's I actually got an F on a project in art class for spelling the word wrong even though that's how the band spells it.
Anything off of Death Angel's Act III! That album is so unique. I see that period of Death Angel as very similar to Opeth going prog; they both really opened up their sound without going too commercial (one coming from thrash, the other from death metal).
Now you gotta do Testament! If there was a big 5 they would be in it! I recommend Brotherhood of The Snake. I know people say to do their old stuff, but honestly they had bad recording quality back then even though the music was great. They still kick ass today and have great quality to match!
Just like Anthrax (besides the debut), Testament was never a band I got into that much. I would agree though their new recordings kick ass, maybe even more than in the old days. I would appreciate Vin and Sori doing some 80s for a change though, hopefully they're hooked now and we've got such sights to show them. So instead of Testament, i was thinking Liege Lord "Master Control", Agent Steel "Unstoppable Force" or "144.000 gone", Exciter "Heavy Metal Maniac" or "Violence and Force", Exodus "Bonded by Blood" or "Metal Command", you know, some seminal songs that defined the genre, I'm also keen to see them react to more NWoBHM, especially as Vin likes Metallica so much.
So good you liked that! Anthrax is an awesome band. Waiting for more, for example Medusa or N.F.L from earlier years of Anthrax. Also Blood Eagle Wings is a great song, with great (yet a bit brutal) video. It's on their newest album For All Kings.
Reign of darkness- Thy art is murder (music video) Land of snow and sorrow- Wintersun Carbon phrases- Alkaloid Crushed- Parkway Drive Dawn Of Ages- Unleash The Archers I'm gonna spam this on every video
Great video, it's been a while since I listened to some Anthrax. A few recommendations for future reactions - Tool - Lost Keys & Rosetta Stoned (have to be played together!) The Contortionist - Language I: Intuition & Language II: Conspire (have to be played together!) Intronaut - Fast Worms or The Last Direction of Things Witchcraft - Her Sisters They Were Weak or Witchcraft Ghost - From the Pinnacle to the Pit or Con Clavi Con Dio
Nellie Bly (1864-1922) Had herself committed to Bellvue to observe the treatment of the patients. This is well recorded in her book "10 days in a Madhouse" and she is quoted in saying "If you don't go IN insane, you very well may walk out insane." The video for this song, oddly, garnered criticism for the silly way Anthrax did videos back then. I like the good hard crunch of this song.
I had to edit my comment since my first suggestion wasn't possible. Do Kreator - Enemy of God (new school Kreator) or do Kreator - Pleasure to Kill (old school brutal Kreator) or both xD. You guys run the best reaction channel on UA-cam right now! :3 2nd Edit: Keep the thrashfest going!!! \m/
Search Skalmold symphony on the UA-cams. The whole concert is up there. My fave track is “Midgardsormr”, which is an alternate name for the big ol’ snake from the Amon Amarth track you reviewed. If that sounds too repetitive...maybe “Upprisa” or “Kvadning”?
My favorite band when i was younger. Still like it, this one the best anthrax songs. There is so many good tracks. Indians, caught in the mosh, iam the law, antisocial and of course bring the noise with public enemy 😎. And many more.
Great reaction Vin and Sori!!! Love your vids. I would absolutely recommend "Indians" by Anthrax and "Native Blood" by Testament for badass some songs. 😉😊
Alice Coopers album mentions "the quiet room" From the Inside album...one of Alice's greatest he wrote while in a hospital for alcoholism...he wrote to and for his wife.....
I think everyone needs the building blocks to bands, or music..Give them a feel for certain bands/music the Range. Skid Row - 18 and Life Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild Skid Row - In a Darkened Room. Skid Row - I Remember You.. Then VinandSori would really appreciate hidden gems.
Mega Seth "building blocks" mmm, by your suggestions i think that you are trying to show them the hits first, Skid Row started as a Heavy Metal band, don't get confused by the ballads, they were mostly written for the purpose of being "radio friendly" (musically speaking, lyrics are superb besides that)
This is true they are the hits..And are radio friendly..Which is a good starting point...Who's knows maybe they might have heard 1 or 2 of the songs I listed..And are like "Oh so that's who did those songs...And then they'll check Skid Row out on their own time..And maybe give em a video or 2 of content. But if I may, "Confused by the ballads...and Heavy Metal band." I did list 3 songs off of their first album and 1 off of their second album...Sure I may have listed their softest song, one of their most recognizable songs...Not their best...But you suggested a very melodic song as well..."Quicksand Jesus" probably partially to get a Christians' reaction, interpretation, take on it's lyrics. Quicksand Jesus should get air play, it's a melodic great song...But it's more of a hidden gem an acquired taste. Nothing but love for all yall..Keep on rocking good people.
One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands, had no clue yall were even going to react to this or Twilight Of The Thunder God which was awesome. The last few videos have been good songs
Old-School asylums was like a f***in horror show (19th century and earlier) when you read about them. Overcrowded hospitals with like 1 nurse for every 70 patient or so. People were chained to their beds for ages, and were left to literally drown in their own shit. It was not only the patients that were insane, their treatment were insane, and many of the doctors/nurses were sadistically insane.
I love Anthrax!!! Welcome to songwriting 101. Sometimes it is just about words rhyming. You also need to look at songs like books. They are just stories and probably have nothing to do with the writers personal life. They just write things that entertain themselves and hopefully entertain others. Lastly, most songs, singles especially, have to be a certain length to get played on the radio. Rock radio was a bit more lenient but songs had to come in around three minutes. This has gotten longer in later decades but in the 80s that was about right.
Awesome review guy's, I personally am not a big fan of Anthrax but still good none the less. Also I actually work in a mental hospital as a psychiatric nursing assistant or an orderly is what they are more commonly known as. I believe that's the word you looking for Vin lol
You guys should also check out Anthrax with John Bush on vocals. A few people have already commented on it but since you have now gone through the so called big four you need to check out some of the other awesome Thrash bands. Testament, Overkill, Death Angel and Exodus. You also might be interested in some melodic Death Metal, bands like Arch Enemy, Carcass or God Dethroned.
I always thought that it was a stretch to put Anthrax in the Big4. Testament, in my opinion, should have been in the Big4. "The Ritual" "Return to Serenity". Awwww....now I have to go listen to those songs. Much love and God bless from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
I share that nightmare Sori. Good 1st pick for Anthrax btw. Check out Belly of the beast or Indians. Only with John Bush on vocals is a good one too. I'm sayin this knowin full well you're not taking suggestions from the comments anymore.
Sorry if this is annoying but you seem to have forgotten about Overkill - The Years of Decay. Apart from that you guys should also check out Ironbound by Overkill!
3:10 Which raises the question: Was it you typing Sori, or was it sparky (*shivers*), who took a hold of your hands and persuaded Mark without you having a control of the situation?? Alas, the danger of Sparky is now doubled, be cause he has his old consort along side him now, the salt lamp (Is that what it is lol?). I don't think we can actually do anything now, against his tyranny. So stay strong guys, we will try to counter sparky's psychic powers, but playing Nile - "Annihilation of the Wicked" in full volume ;)
I know all of us who like heavier stuff dont get as lucky but a suggetion would be to have a day like "Black metal friday" that way you can keep everyone happy.
You should react to "institutionalized" by suicidal tendencies. You mentioned you ended up in a mental hospital so you might like the lyrics. Greetings from Mexico.
For the underground show. Either In De Naam Van De Duivel or The Possession Process by Carach Angren. They're a symphonic black metal band that writes their albums as horror stories. These two work as stand alone songs though. Think you guys will love em. Carach Angren means Iron Jaws in elvish and is a place in Mordor. In De Naam Van De Duivel is Dutch for In the name of the devil. But besides the name the song's in english. It's not Satanic enough to go on blackfire. I promise. And Babel's Gate by Septic Flesh. Symphonic Death metal and you'd get a kick out of the lyrics. Also you guys need to do the whole of Damnation And A Day by Cradle Of Filth. Best Cradle album in my opinion and the album tells the story of Satan before his fall all the way to his defeat. Seeing how you guys dissect this stuff is amazing.
Early Anthrax was great when I was in High School, but once John Bush joined the band I think they really reached their potential as a band. "Only" on "The Sound of White Noise" is as close to a perfect thrash metal song as it gets.
Ron Butchko Only is a great song...but i would not call it a thrash song. Their sound changed, much like Metallica, with the times with John Bush in the band. They returned to form with Worship Music and For All Kings
Yeah you are right. It would have been more accurate to cite "Only" as an example of the era's "metal" more broadly. Now that Im thinking about it, by today's standards its barely metal at all, more like hard rock.
Hey Vin and Sori I'm glad you like Anthrax they're very underrated even though they're part of the Big 4 and lot of people think they shouldn't be there and you know basically the Big 4 is basically that Slayer Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax all released or albums within the 85 time line more or less and but a if you want to check out more Anthrax a listen to a song called Indians or I am the Law.They can be very socially conscience and write about movies and stuff like comic books to,they're re avid fans of that check them out I think you might like them more. Remember, more BLACK FIRE,Lol
Now that you've checked out Anthrax from the 80s... you should check out Blood Eagle Wings from their most recent album. It's awesome to see how far they have come. As a note.... Sori will have her eyes covered for a section of the video if you watch the actual official video.
Love love love that classic-thrash chug-chug-chug guitar rhythm ;) Maybe overused across so much music.. but definitely one of the main staples of the genre. Anthrax were the fun-loving goofballs of the thrash scene back in the day. Peace
Anthrax has very serious topics in some of their songs, but they are the kind of goofy/fun band of thrash.
Anthrax and Gamma Bomb are kinda like the goofballs of thrash metal. Both great bands though.
Mosh! They can try other variants of Anthrax too with Anthrax & Public Enemy - Bring The Noise or SOD/MOD. I like the song The March of the SOD into Sergeant D.
The fun fact is actually great too. Anthrax is amazing.
ANTHRAX - INDIANS
Best Anthrax tune, no doubt.
Agreed
Easy way to put this:
Megadeth = most technical sounding
Slayer = horror style
Metallica = more emotion
Anthrax = party people lol
Slayers more like "heaviest and fastest"
Annihilator - Alison Hell
or even better Annihilator - Imperiled Eyes
Yeah Imperiled Eyes or Sixes and Sevens would be a great introduction to Annihilator.
official video i must say
Crystal Ann and Stonewall would also be great
I know that Underground is generally less requested songs, but Anthrax are definitely a mainstage band.
A light in the black
Don't talk to strangers!
you guys are awesome. this a great band nothing better then old school metal
I don't know if you go back and read the comments from earlier videos but I feel the need to tell you that as a fan of this type of music (30+ years now) that I'm thoroughly impressed with your musical insight and the breadth of styles that you have and continue to explore. Recommend In the End, Anthrax as well. The official video is nice to watch, it is a tribute to some deceased rock musicians
The Big Four is complete. Thanks guys, that was a great song choice and yall’s reaction was very entertaining. About to check out your website.
It was Anthrax and Public Enemy. Bring The Noise, 1994.
1991, but yeah...
and it was far from cheesy, other than some humor in the video. Unless he is thinking of I Am The Man, which was just Anthrax themselves, which was a bit more "jokey".
it was a fail attempt for sure
@@kitoyobeni1 I don't get why people like bring the noise its like maximum corn factor
@@skidtheflid6140 Not compared to Anthrax' I'm The Man, lol...
Y'all are Killin it, bring back memories getting ready to get in my Anthrax collection. One of my favorites is Medusa. Stuff with John Bush is good too. Black Lodge the list goes on.
Medusa is my fav.
I’m not the biggest Anthrax fan, but man I’ve gotta respect Joey Belladonna for his voice - such a massive range even after almost 40 years, dude is seriously talented. Watch him singing Star Spangled Banner, I’m not even American but shit gave me goosebumps.
lzw3 joey is awesome and charlie benante is a very underated drummer.
Iron Maiden - Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
I love you guys’ videos. I am a devout Christian metalhead and your commentary is always relevant. The first Anthrax song I’ve ever listened to. Such a badass song
Anthrax are awesome live, saw them in the Slayer farewell tour, Joey Belladonna has an insane voice, by the way try, I Am The Law, I'm Alive, Blood by them
I'd love to see someone do I am the Law.

Big four band on the underground? Do you not remember "I am the man" blowing up the MTV's?
new here , and subscribed for the personalities and the back and fourth between you too! :)
Anthrax - Indians, Skeletons in the Closet and In the End
Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer are know as "The Big 4" because they were the bands that created/founded thrash metal in the early 80's.
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath. The origins of metal!
Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave would be great too
Got to see Anthrax a few months back this year with Slayer, Behemoth, Testament and Lamb of God. Was a awesome night! Anthrax is so fun live.

SEPULTURA
ah yes and Venom as well
Classic Anthrax!! Excellent choice!!
You want epics? Try "Stargazer" by Rainbow.
Awesome review guys love this band 🤘
Now you gotta do Testament! If there was a big 5 they would be in it! I recommend Brotherhood of The Snake. I know people say to do their old stuff, but honestly they had bad recording quality back then even though the music was great. They still kick ass today and have great quality to match!
Over the Wall!

"Low" (early days) "The Formation of Damnation" and "The Gathering" (with Dave Lombardo on drums) are awesome.
sepultura should be in there as well. well, with max anyway. sepultura were HUGE back in the 80s and early 90s as well.
Dude, if they do Testament ,they have to listen to some stuff from The Gathering! That album kicks ass!
Just saw ANTHRAX on tour last night!! Crowd went INSANE when they played this!!
Do Indians by Anthrax
The Chris love the song
Classic tune
Anthrax - "In My World"...
And then with John Bush on vocals - "Only" or "Room For One More"
So good you liked that! Anthrax is an awesome band. Waiting for more, for example Medusa or N.F.L from earlier years of Anthrax. Also Blood Eagle Wings is a great song, with great (yet a bit brutal) video. It's on their newest album For All Kings.
Reign of darkness- Thy art is murder (music video)
Land of snow and sorrow- Wintersun
Carbon phrases- Alkaloid
Crushed- Parkway Drive
Dawn Of Ages- Unleash The Archers

Great video, it's been a while since I listened to some Anthrax. A few recommendations for future reactions -
Tool - Lost Keys & Rosetta Stoned (have to be played together!)
The Contortionist - Language I: Intuition & Language II: Conspire (have to be played together!)
Intronaut - Fast Worms or The Last Direction of Things
Witchcraft - Her Sisters They Were Weak or Witchcraft

Oh hell yeah.... ANTHRAX!!!!!!
It was bring the noise with public enemy and it was awesome

I had to edit my comment since my first suggestion wasn't possible. Do Kreator - Enemy of God (new school Kreator) or do Kreator - Pleasure to Kill (old school brutal Kreator) or both xD. You guys run the best reaction channel on UA-cam right now! :3
2nd Edit: Keep the thrashfest going!!!
Glad you dug Anthrax (a little surprised)...Anthrax does not always hold up well to time but they were true innovators back in their hey day.
My favorite band when i was younger. Still like it, this one the best anthrax songs. There is so many good tracks. Indians, caught in the mosh, iam the law, antisocial and of course bring the noise with public enemy 😎. And many more.
This is is awesome...Thank you!
Love it! Vin found peace in a padded cell.I did too dude...lmao!
Great reaction Vin and Sori!!! Love your vids. I would absolutely recommend "Indians" by Anthrax and "Native Blood" by Testament for badass some songs. 😉😊

I think this was the first Anthrax tune I heard , soo good riff !
Seen these guys 3 times. One show was Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer! They put on a fun show...
Symphony X - Kiss of fire / Serpent's kiss / Electric messiah
Medusa was always one of my go to Anthrax songs back in 8th grade.
Skid Row - Quicksand Jesus

Anthrax- Indians
One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands, had no clue yall were even going to react to this or Twilight Of The Thunder God which was awesome. The last few videos have been good songs

Ahhh the best memories of mid 2000's snail mail scares.
Can you put a timestamp for when the reaction actually starts?
Great fun track with cool crunchy riffs. If you want something longer try the LP after this "Among The LIving". Not a bad song on it
Anthrax didn't become ANTHRAX until among the living album. Which is a masterpiece of thrash..every song.
NIN - Hersey

Keep It In The FAMILY

Oh Anthrax kicks ass.. Madhouse was just one song. They got so much more. So under rated.
Youre gonna have to do Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies now. Such a classic song!
You should watch Who Cares Wins official video from Anthrax. As i was young i was shocked how much homeless people there were at New York at 1988.
I share that nightmare Sori.
Good 1st pick for Anthrax btw.
Check out Belly of the beast or Indians. Only with John Bush on vocals is a good one too. I'm sayin this knowin full well you're not taking suggestions from the comments anymore.

This is my favorite Anthrax song! :D
Great band. I was surprised you liked it.
Really why ?
VinAnd Sori I mean, they're old school of thrash metal. And there's a lot of people that don't like this kind of genre.
Because they're not Tool....😒
hahahahahaha
I know all of us who like heavier stuff dont get as lucky but a suggetion would be to have a day like "Black metal friday" that way you can keep everyone happy.
Suicidal Tendencies - How will I laugh tomorrow when I can't even smile today

Dude what bring the noise is awesome
Agreed..but still a killer tune
Dan Spitz the Lead Guitar Player is 5 foot 1 - and hes a Swiss Master watch maker
Remember,more BLACK FIRE,Lol
Katatonia - Leaders
Anthrax and Public Enemy
Now that you've checked out Anthrax from the 80s... you should check out Blood Eagle Wings from their most recent album. It's awesome to see how far they have come. As a note.... Sori will have her eyes covered for a section of the video if you watch the actual official video.
Awesome vid as always! TRY Pantera - Suicide Note pt. I & pt. II
Anyone else think Sori is gorgeous? Really pretty
If you want to listen to this band's best works, listen to Be All, End All. Pure message in there
Big four is based on record sales. Musically speaking modern big four would include Kreator, Vektor, Testament, not sure about the 4th one.
Pls do Testament anything from their last three records especially Formation of Damnation record
My usual request of heilung-Krigskaldr
Not to be forgotten.
Woo Hoo! Playing old school shit today!
Anthrax-Only is the one you should of covered.....and what's up with no Corrosion of Conformity yet? "In the Arms of God" is a classic!
Manowar - Gates of Valhalla
or Blood of my enemies or Guyanna
You should do Architects - Broken Cross, Lamb of God - Blacken the Cursed Sun, or Amon Amarth - Slaves of Fear...
Here's some other songs by Anthrax:
Antisocial
Be All, End All
I'm the Man
Indians
Caught In A Mosh
I Am the Law
Love love love that classic-thrash chug-chug-chug guitar rhythm ;) Maybe overused across so much music.. but definitely one of the main staples of the genre.
Anthrax were the fun-loving goofballs of the thrash scene back in the day.
Peace
