I have a feeling this will happen a lot. Everyone sees elden ring and want to play it because it's popular but since they don't know the game they get instantly destroyed and trash it
But that’s what is great about it man not everybody can play it. It’s a 100% skill based game. None of that lucky warzone COD fps BRs. Lol.
GOOD! Get the trash casuals out. Go back to COD.
As I’ve been getting wrecked from these two bosses in the castle next to the rot shit hole they added cause poison swamp isn’t good enough for an hour. Time to branch off north west I suppose. I need grave glovewort 3 Time to hunt.

It’s so frustrating hearing him complain about the controls while spamming r1 4 times and expecting to be able to roll
yeepe lol
I think I’m more frustrated hearing him just complain about the lock-on as if it’s a game issue. Like you can’t blame the game for not understanding how the mechanic works. Stop being so stubborn trying to avoid lock on and maybe he might figure out the way to use it correctly lol.

I'm not that good at this game, but seeing this makes me feel like a pro in comparison, not because I'm better at it but because at least I'm able to realize when I'm doing something wrong and I don't just blame the game mechanics and keep doing the same shit over and over.

*Tips For New Players So You Don't Make The Same Mistakes As This Guy*
*1)* Just because a shield is equipped, doesn't mean you're properly using it. This isn't WoW or Diablo.
*2)* There are many different attack patterns to use. Light attack (which the guy in this video spams 100% of the time), heavy attack (which can also be charged), combo attacks, rolling attack, jumping attack, crouching attack, weapon art, 2 handing and all above mentioned attacks. And then there's also powerstancing. So contrary to what the Doc said...there's plenty of variations.
*3)* Locking on to a target isn't always beneficial for a fight. You have much more mobility and vision when you free aim. For a good example, watch Asmongold get rekt by a bird because he refuses to unlock from the birds head. It screws with the camera angles when a boss jumps around. For the opposite spectrum, watch ChaseTheBro PvP videos and the study his techniques. They apply to PvE as well.
*4)* The input delay is typically caused from button mashing. Just like every other Souls game, you get punished for mashing. There is a short queue in between actions. Stay calm and be deliberate with your inputs.
*5)* Sick of getting mobbed in a dungeon? Upgrade a bow and pick enemies off one by one. Lure an enemy away from the group, or you can simply just speed run past everything. There's no need to hack and slash every enemy you come across. Changing tactics is necessary sometimes. With the amount of weapons and spells at your disposal, you should be able to find a solution without needing to restat.
Hope this helps someone...I struggled for months when I first started playing Dark Souls. The input delay advice was probably the most useful when I was just learning. Followed by the free aim vs locking in certain scenarios. The rest is just icing for your noob cakes.

Doc is the definition of skill issue
This is my first Souls game. Ill admit i jumped on the hype, but the game looked amazing. I've only ever heard how amazing, but challenging these games are. Thats why I personally refuse to get angry at the game itself, and focus more of my rage in my own mistakes. learning to not panic dodge, learning each boss' different moves in order to counter, even just the VAST exploration of this game is something ive wanted to experience for years, but no game filled that. I will beat this game. I dont care if it takes me 500 damn hours. I love it. And these games prove that there is still heart and soul to be put in video games. I've never played something so hard in my damn life.
I feel like im not the only one who struggle.
Also my fist soulsgame and 150 hrs playing and stuck at Maliketh. But i do a lot of side quests and bosses.
Love this game and i also don't care if it takes me 500 hrs to complete the game. Its not a competition against others 🙂
They put a little more than their heart and soul, one of the developers posted a "thank you" video for the reception Elden ring recieved and my god...he looked like he was starved in a prison for 7 years
@@Jonah-Philip I believe it.
As someone that's played a lot of Souls games & loves them I recommend keeping at it & maintaining a sense of humor. You will get better & we all started the same way. These are a different approach & formula than most games we're used to. The foundational principle is overcoming impossible adversity.
Though this one has quite a bit more hand holding than previous entries it is still expected that you will die repeatedly & must learn from your mistakes. There are intentional setups to screw you over & you are purposely not being fully told about certain game mechanics, like "poise" for example in Elden Ring.
I highly recommend using the fextralife wiki when struggling & watching as many really good players as possible. Chasethebro is a great one I highly recommend to every player. He is very knowledgeable in the Soulsborne games with a speciality in PVP. I've been watching him since DS3 & it improved my game play drastically

Game on kids. Game on. We are all gonna make it.
better than just saying "game bad" i suppose
@@Ramhams1337 For sure.
The combat looks like a simplified janky version of Black Desert with not a lot of depth to the mechanics. To me it just doesn't look like it flows very well. I can understand why people aren't into the mechanics. Seems to be a lot of fanboys pretending that's there's some kinda deep learning curve to getting better, but the only learning curve I see is learning about all the builds you can have and not the actual combat gameplay. Having never played any of these games it looks like I could pick it up and pretty much master the combat in a few weeks tops.

Expectations is what throws ppl off, when I was introduced to dark souls I was informed I was going to die alot and the bosses can be very difficult, had I not had anyone explain to me about the game I probably would've rage quit 😂
I was a newb to this series and did what a lot of people do, pretend it’s a hack and slash like god of war and tried to swing as many times as possible. It wasn’t until the 6-8 hour window where it started clicking that there are windows to actually swing and heal. And that you don’t HAVE TO KILL EVERYTHING!
Took me 40 hours to realize that lol, or I realized it but didn't have the self-control to stop myself from trying to finish the fight asap but then wind up dying 20 times in the most irritating way.
But now I'm a pimp, got me dual Magma Blades that took me prolly 5 hours to farm. Werewolf Helm the feathered jump dmg chest(can't think of the name) lvl 150 and max lol mimic ash summon/max lvl black knife tiche
I don't die often now, tbf I learnt all the fights mechanics and once I learned that heavy rolling and medium rolling were 2 very different things and now I always make sure to not go over the heavy threshold
Hahaha. Wow. I think the funniest part is you can tell he's trying to hold back his rage, and failing.
🤣 reminds me of when I first got into souls games. All the rapid frustrated complaining, and saying "I dunno I dunno dunno just not for me"
His biggest problems are trying to block/roll during an attack, and healing mid-attack from an enemy.
He also doesn't change tactics, nor goes elsewhere to become stronger to come back later
He is used to call of duty where you just sneeze on everything and it dies.
To be fair, a lot of people are use to games with main weapons that are never swapped out with attacks that barely change.
When they use the starting knife/sword/whatever it feels underwhelming they imagine that’s what it’s like for the rest of the game.
in summary he needs to git gud
going elsewhere to come back later.. why not play tetris?
Nah. he's right. This game is all about dying 5 times, learning exactly enemy moves, and then defeating it anticipating every strike, and this gameplay is rather tedious and there is little left for reaction and skill, just experience.
Also with some enemies, like big multi-armed thing in the castle - you have barely any window of attack, so you're stuck dodging for a minute, waiting for it to make that one attack with longer back-out animation, so you can stuff a few hits in only to repeat the boring waiting-dodging routine for a minute more.
Unless you specifically go grind runes and mats, level and upgrade your shit past the enemy level and faceroll everything - which is also tedious and boring gameplay.
23:15 Slowing it down to .25 you can tell he clearly had his shield up, however, he wasn't locked onto the horseman, so when the rider swung his sword, he was already a little past Doc and Doc was facing away from him at that point, so it hit him in the back - his shield did no good (rightly so) because of misuse.
As far as his other combat stuff, there's still some learning to do. He swings three times at enemies when he only needs to swing twice (wasn't a big deal in this case, but I can see how that would be really bad in the wrong situation); he heals a lot at the wrong time; he doesn't _run_ _away_ when he should (a viable tactic) so he can regain his bearings and come up with a quick strategy.
There were several things that I could see - each one adding onto the other - that would stack up to be a really frustrating play experience.
or just no? Game is thrash and there is too much investing for little return
I've been playing this for about 6 weeks, I thought the combat and controls felt janky at first, but now it feels great. This game is just magical.

That’s where I’m at right now. I don’t know if I get it if I will commit myself to it and watching peoples gameplay is almost impossible to know. I’ve never played a souls game and I have heard this one is good for first timers.
yea, he doesn't like the way how every move on souls game is a commitment, he likes a game where he just spam more without a punishment and can dodge or cancel midattack
This is my first souls game and I’m really enjoying it. If you take the time to learn from your mistakes it doesn’t actually take long to get good. He obviously is not used to these type of games
after like 5 hours i realized that dodging didn't just work on its own and i had to time it (never played a fromsoftware game). after that i've beaten 3 bosses, and rn i'm so hooked on the game
@@thenextsky Explore if you're stuck or don't like the current area you're in. Come back more leveled up or more experienced. The world's huge and there's much to be discovered. You're going to die, just get use to it haha. Learn from it. You will get through the game and enjoy it if you persist
Hey man, once you commit to a button push on your game pad, the game remembers it. So if you are spamming 'A' for example, even when you quit pushing it, if you pushed it 4 times but want it to stop at 2 times, the game remembers the 4 times you pushed it and will continue to activate that action until it is over. This game is all about perfect precise timing ( as a weapon wielder that is, meaning in your face combat). With your play style, I HIGHLY recommend you go to a mage build. Then your spams don't matter as much. It is a great game and you haven't even completed 1% at this point. Don't give up. If you give it time, you will learn to love it and like the rest of us, think it might be the greatest game ever! Hope this helps if you decide to give it another try :) Oh, and this is my first fromsoftware game and I am level 476 and on Journey 8. I have played all different classes and mage is by far the easiest. The Faith build is the funnest. Dual katanas is the best in my opinion for in your face hand to hand combat. Rivers of blood especially.
"It thinks I'm still pressing the button so my dude is still swinging his sword around..."
Thats because unlike Devil May Cry, you can't just cancel out commands mid-action. Once you've pressed a button so many times those actions are stored and executed in sequence.
Def not a button mashing game.
But you have to mash roll in souls games all the time.
Makes the experience kinda unrealistic, takes away from the combat really (unrealistic in that, even in a world with magic, it doesn’t make sense to roll around when fighting).
@@thegreenmage6956 Its a game. what are you on about? if you want something other than rolling then go play bb
If you're the kind of person that expect to be good quick, never even dare play Elden Ring. If you die a lot at a particular point you have so much options.. you can just explore elsewhere and comeback later.
Or you try to do the same Boss 50 times and then feel fkn awesome for manging to kill it. I've played Code Vein before and these games aren't really for me, but decided to just try again. So far having fun, despite almost losing my shit at a Boss.
@@lorddrazharofprussia4693 I saw a video recently that basically extolled both of your guys's points and that the tree Sentinel especially was pretty much entirely designed to encourage both playstyles where either you can do the old good soulsborne Style, ' smash your head into that solid rebar reinforced concrete wall about a thousand times and finally managed to break it' or what in some ways is kind of the more logical, ' go get more Loot and better gear in general and level up a bit and then come back and Destroy This boss when you're properly levelled for it'
Both playstyles are completely valid and it really just comes down to how you decide you want to take on whatever challenges you face where whether you want to make it so you actually are properly prepared to take it on or you want to just keep on attempting it and keep on trying to feed it until you see all the patterns and weaknesses and can defeat it without needing to get all the extra gear and levels

Something I learned from playing Elden Ring(as a non-souls player) is how much I hate that modern games have trained me to expect hand-holding or just to button mash without consequence, basically to not use my brain. Seeing people get angry at things like it's "Unathletic" or "There's input delay" is funny, you have to commit and be deliberate with each action and not spam. You can't go into it like it's CoD or Assassins creed, this game punishes you if you don't think and adapt. The real problem might be people aren't getting the tools to make it much easier, like spirit summons. They can really ease the transition, so you can still progress while learning how the game plays.
It's fine not to like it, it's not for everyone kind of like how I hate sports games or brain dead open world games where the character won't shut up telling you everything you need to do and the map points you to every single thing in the game. I just think people would enjoy it more if they knew what to expect from the start and approached it differently. I would say if you're new to FS games you really should look up some beginner tips, like what to expect and what items to make sure you get right away.
I mean to be fair as a Souls veteran there's a difference between hand holding and telling you basic information. This game can be a betrayal to their previous boss design that I'm honestly disgusted the game stoop so low to dark souls 2 level of BS. Don't get me wrong DR disrespect was just bad in this instance but I'm just tired that FromSoftware games can get a pass for being cryptic as hell. This coming from who love their games. Some of their philosophy doesn't transfer well into open world. Their NPC quest for instance can be genuinely trash.
@@NinjapowerMS That's fair, maybe it's because modern games have got so bad at hand-holding that I'm ok with how ER approached it. It's like a breath of fresh air lol, just mindlessly exploring the map feels satisfying when I find things because so many games just tell you where everything is in one way or another. But yeah, when I'm objective ER is just the extreme opposite and it's something I wouldn't want in every game to be sure. Hopefully devs find a good middle ground on giving necessary information and letting us figure things out.
And yeah the NPC quests are too much, if not for the internet I doubt I'd ever figure many of them out.
Stop comparing an RPG game to am FPS. There isn’t handholding in Call of Duty if you want to actually be good.
There is one thing I'd like them to change about the game, though. That's the fact that if you get hit after you pressed a button, your character will still do that last command as soon as he's done staggering. This has gotten me killed several times because I double hit the attack button in response to an expected blow to my shield, but instead they miss and I do a power attack. Then, because I double clicked, my character follows up with a second attack, despite the fact I got punished for the power attack already with a hit. And I can do nothing to stop this.
I agree with everything but the lag input do be dumb as hell. Like the time registered to take action is too long. For example, I expect Goldrick to do his double long swing attack so I "spam" roll button do rolls but I stop after the first one expecting my character to double roll but he will triple roll instead.
Funny how he initially hated the game, never wanted to play it again, to eventually loving it and saying it's one of the best games ever
He should show footage of his controller while he’s playing the game too, so we can see how much he is spamming buttons and moving the stick to change his lock-on when he shouldn’t (or not moving the stick to change lock-on when it’s needed), letting go of using shield too early, etc.
This is my first Fromsoft game and I’m having a blast. Beat the first two main bosses and done a good amount of exploring and got my character to level 41. Good to know Im doing far better than DrDisrespect.
I beat every souls game, I'm 10 hours in and haven't even beaten the first boss yet. Tried it like 20 times and went back to exploring and doing mini-bosses. Love that I can take a break and explore the open world a bit. Good job on doing the first two bosses already, you're definitely also better than me haha.

I almost stopped playing the game the other day, so glad I didn’t. I still got a lot to learn but once you get the hang of it and defeat a few tough bosses, it’s amazing.
The rune items (golden, hero's, lords) you find in the game, represent the players that gave up.
I’ve noticed this with doc and Tarkov as well but it seems like the fact that he’s streaming puts him in a mind state where he isn’t able to notice basic stuff and learn from it. His mind is full of wrong answers he reads in chat and never nails down what’s really true. No time for reflection since he’s got a show to put on. Its really not a good look at the end of the day and is hurting his brand.
He needs to spend a little bit of time off stream figuring these games out because he’s too self conscious about not being the best at a game he’s never played as he streams to 25,000 trolls who seem to have learned how to get under his skin.
This just isn’t his type of game for the style of brand he has.
He needs pure multiplayer, and competitive gameplay. I’m surprised he doesn’t play fighting games.

@@symbol767 not so much, it’s a learning process as you play. Even I make mistakes and die regularly and I have 1000+ hours in the souls game. Best advice I can give is to stick to a build, upgrade your favorite weapon and look up stat softcaps so that you have an easier time leveling up your build.
You’re not meant to fight more than one enemy at a time in this game, so consider finding a bow or crossbow and luring in one enemy at a time. Check your corners and play patiently to save your flasks and remember to constantly explore for loot.

This man has never played a FromSoft game on his stream, but has the audacity to say "well its just remembering enemy patterns, hit hit roll, hit hit roll. eh 6 out of 10". No dip you arent gonna like the mechanics, you dont like FromSoft games. Why do people get to jump into an established community and IP and then have the balls to say "i know you have been enjoying this series the last 15 years, but your favorite game series is bad and it needs to be changed to what I like."
I've been playing since Dark 1, have beaten all of the games multiple times. I won't finish Elden Ring. Game sucks. FromSoft needs a new gimmick that isn't Miyazaki sucking off poison swamps, instant death lizards (wow, way to recycle the basilisk!) and going, "Ooo, the game is about struggling and overcoming adversity! I am sorry you don't like it." No, you chucklefuck, what I don't like is getting to the capital and having enemies kill me in 3 hits when I have 40% physical absorption, 50 vigor, and some heavy as fuck armor, but then when I fight Morgott, I BEAT HIM IN ONE GODDAMN TRY WITH SIX ESTUS LEFT OVER. What I don't like is getting past the fire giant, a mere two attempts, and then dying because I don't see the Grace on the other side of this massive fucking forge thing, so I end up thinking, "Maybe I need to go down there," dying because there's no fucking collision, and then my runes are stuck on a ledge I can't reach because lolololol. What I don't like is suddenly ending up on some tornado island with no explanation as to how or why, and going, "Jesus fucking christ, I am 70 hours in already. Can this stupid fucking game end? I was on NG++ with DS3 by now."
Elden Ring is just another Souls game. I guess if you're the kind of boring person that only plays one franchise it's awesome for you, but I was pretty done with the formula after 3. At least Bloodborne changed things on a fundamentally mechanical level, making dodges more important, and useful, changing how weapons worked with the transformation state, no stupid estus upgrades, no awful filler (I hate the open world. It's so dead and unappealing to explore. Oh look, a cave! Oh look, another ragebear. Oh look, he was guarding the spirit ashes for a cat summon. That'll come in handy never.), and hell, it even stepped away from the tired old Western fantasy design. I love Dark Souls, first one's my favorite for a lot of reasons, Bloodborne is probably the best FromSoft game, ER feels like shit compared to any of their previous games to me. It's a tired rehash with a new coat of paint. The only reason people love it is because complete brainlets can beat it with OP magic builds and it's their first Souls game so now they too can understand how mechanically satisfying it can be. GIve them two more games and they'll be going, "Wait, it's just the same fucking game over and over? Lame."

ER has been super fun for me and I think It is less souls-like than Fromsoft's previous games because It is much less linear. Maybe you are not playing it as an open-world game? I have spent 30 hours alone in Limgrave/weeping. There won't be another DS 1 or Bloodborne, stop comparing them to ER. Fallen Order IS more responsive, compare the dodge move: Dodging in FO is triggered when pressing the dodge button, in elden ring dodging is delayed approx 150 ms because it is mapped to the release of the dodge button, because the (B) button (for xb controller) is mapped to more than 1 action. so The felt delay is exactly the difference in mapping and yes they could have mapped the buttons better.

If you need a bachelor's degree to get the game set up to be fun, it's the definition of a shit game. And just because you put yourself through the dark soul college to get gud at this shit show doesn't mean that 99% of the gaming community will find that fun.
Every single thing the Doc said was true, the game is sluggish, animations are delayed, combat feels unresponsive and some hits feel almost weightless, spells and animations are there for the sake of cool and not practical appliances.
To be fair the control are kinda bad and not the smoothest compared to other games like the newer assassins creed and others that feel much smoother handling in comparison so I think complaining about that is fair but it’s not that horrible but could definitely be improved by a lot.

I was able to defeat her finally, but I couldn’t continue playing anymore after that because of the pain.
It has been at least five weeks since then, and that knuckle is still twice the size it used to be and hurts all the time.
I have no idea what I did to it, but it reminds me of when I played the first Bayonetta game many years ago… I destroyed my thumb knuckle on the same left hand, and although it doesn’t hurt all the time, it hurts when I put enough pressure on it, like when I do dishes and am gripping the heavier dishes/pots/etc with that hand.

I need to make an appointment with a doctor to get this shit checked out. Man... I'm new to souls games and DD is just flat out awful. He's a streamer and can play a lot with tons of resources and people explaining to him what to do. Honestly I think this game is perfect to teach someone like him patience.
Unfortunately I doubt it. DD is the type to get frustrated, quit and run away from the game and call it crap, instead of trying to improve and learn. For example, most novices, even those unfamiliar with the Soulsborne series can figure out that the further you go from the starting location, the more difficult the game becomes.
DD doesn't seem to understand this concept and instead of farming Runes for levels, he rushes into more challenging areas for his level and gets destroyed as a result. He acts like he's a pro that can manage zero death lvl1 runs and that bravado being thrown in his face is what frustrates him.
This game won't teach him patience, it will only fuel his opinion that the game is poorly made because his button mashing isn't working.

The only time I got angry was when I found two stone cats boss fight but Marika statue didnt work. I found a post on reddit that said it is common bug. Boss run was annoying so I left it for later. Thats the entire story. This game is fun, rly doesnt stress you even half of what it was in previous Dark Souls. Its even relaxing in comparison.
There's a video where I guy generates different from software characters scaled to their respective stats and moved set. Saw one yesterday with the rune bears against all bosses. This is the only rune bear worth fighting because of the larval tear.
How the hell did he get the horse inside the dungeon boss fight at around 16:00 ???
I love how he has a shield equipped, and NEVER uses it.
lots of people think that shields provide a passive bonus to armor for some reason...
ngl thats how i beat dark souls 3 just used it for parrying sometimes and blocking dogs
TBH, shields are less effective in this game than they are in dark souls games. The timing for parry is so awful I decided not to even bother using it, counter-guard was much more reliable. Then later I read that two handed pure str is the way to go for this game, so I tried it. Went and got the colossal greatsword and upgraded it. Found myself doing much better when I switched it up. Dodging and stun-locking are so strong in this game, you just need to find a good window to get 3 or 4 consecutive attacks and you end up stun-locking the enemy and can dish out a lot of damage. I feel like a lot of players do not realise just how strong these 2 are, and play too safe with the sword and shield. Eventually I realised how good the blasphemous blade was and starting using that with the sacred relic sword on off-hand. I found an amazing strategy for clearing areas which is basically have the blasphemous blade equipped on your left hand slot, have sacred relic sword equipped on your right hand slot. When you use the magic from sacred relic sword which literally decimates every enemy in the area in front of you, you still proc the hp on kill on the blasphemous blade and because you are killing loads of enemies all at once your hp bar just fills up. This means you can save your hp flasks until you fight the boss. Then I would use blasphemous blade against the boss, if I take 1 hit I use the blasphemous blades special attack to get a nice chunk of that hp back, if I go below 50% hp I use a heal flask. Now there is basically no boss that can kill me, I can even tank a lot of the hits and just attack through them with blasphemous blades lifesteal ability because my poise is very high. I have completed journey 7 (ng+6) and it took me less than 200 hours to do it. I also have all achievements. I beat Melania (the hardest boss in the game) without bleed or any other status effects solo in just a few tries, while many other players take over 40 tries to beat her. Fun fact, only 34% of players on steam have actually killed Melania. PVP is even more funny, every now and then I come across 1 guy who I cannot touch (because the net code is so fucking bad and they are using a spear with a shield) but most of the time I literally destroy them before they can even attack me.
Fashion souls
So swinging a sword and blocking with shield is repetitive but pointing and shooting guns at people isn't? lol. It's ironic how similar these two systems are. FPS games have a simple point and shoot system but that simple system has depth because of recoil patterns, different weapons, and the skill ceiling of improving your aim. Same with souls games. It's a simple hack and slash system but it has depth because there's different weapons with different swing patterns/styles, fast weapons slow weapons, different weapon special skills, weapon enchantments, shield skills, dual wielding, different spells, and a large skill ceiling with learning I frames, what attacks you can block and what you need to roll through, weapon skill ceilings, and learning how to properly use the lock on which really isn't that hard idk why doc struggled with it so much.
Most everyone sucks balls when they first start a souls games but they also suck when they first start fps games. You're learning a new system, you gotta give it time.
it took me years to actually get thru some of these types of games
But at the same time, call of duty, elder scrolls and cs go and many others have always been more active players and more people playing it. It really is a limited experience, you roll and swing and learn to parry. There’s a reason FromSoftware games can never have as many active players as other more popular games, it only caters to certain people. Instead of blaming the player, why don’t they try to switch it up
@@vertigorip4170 Because the people who like this thing, like this thing, I don't want every game to be CoD and there should be room in the industry for different genres.
@@PokeBattlerJaze I agree 100%! I’m responding to the dude above who’s acting like it’s the docs fault for not liking the game. It’s not always the players fault for not learning the whole system in and out, and getting good. The game is boring to a lot of us, i said the exact same thing. It’s the developers faults really. This is sad. I lost all respect for DrDisrespect. No pun intended. He doesn't try to improve he just expects the game to conform to require as little attention as possible.
Having to grind for hours until you have a decent build is not fun.
It is fine, it is not his game. His mentality is not fit for a game like this. Elden Ring is not for everyone to like, it is for the people who the mentality that fits for the game.
Elden ring does not represent speed violence and momentum. It’s a slow methodical game
Elder ring 😆
@@2georgre depends on how you play
@@2georgre and those are the games I like, but I just can't find a western rpg with fast paced combat, most are slow and methodical
Yeah its for boring lonley guys who sit in the dark for hours running around doing the same repetitive shit for hours without any sort of excitement until you meet a boss and get pummelled a few times till you beat the boss then rinse and repeat.

@@ALLmasked that is one hell of a quote
This is due to the more recent games not requiring any knowledge of their combat mechanics. Now, many players are familiar with no learning curve and just being able to dominate new games from the start.
I’ve played dark souls 3 before and quit right after the first boss, then got into Elden ring because my cousin wanted to try co-op but ultimately quit because it’s supposed to be a single player experience. I’m loving the game so far.
Doc should learn his place which is playing Battle Royale games and entertaining children.

I finished Dark Souls 2 on release, and it was a mixed feelings of happiness and dread and probably a little existential crisis. But when Elden Ring was announced I know that the bandwagon of seeing a souls game became famous and alot of gamers have no idea they are going up against is hilarious to watch.
Facts it’s hilarious
You can't blame him too much. I only started Dark Souls 3 because my brother played it and he told me how to do a bunch of stuff and play the game in general. Otherwise, I wouldn't know how to level up, what to level up, how to attack with both weapons etc Ofc I've finished both games now and Sekiro
Did ER beat down on DrDis? Doc, this is the first kinda souls game I've ever played and I've bossed it first play through right now level 146 36hrs played, it's a really good game. I've been on the verge so many time aswel haha
My first few hours with the game seen me getting trolled hard, fucking hate those chests that teleport you balls deep into caelid

hey there is a dragon in caelid that doesnt attack back. it has an insane amlunt of health but if you bleed it to death you get 74000 souls. idk if it has story implications.

"I felt like Fallen Order was way more responsive... "
It might feel that way because the parry window in Fallen Order is loose - you can be much more sloppy and get away with it. A game like ER has tighter timings and is less forgiving when you miss the dodge or parry window. ER, like Sekiro, is a rhythm game. You die over and over and over and over again until you learn the enemy's attack pattern and can counter appropriately.

It's funny how it's all the games fault lol. He's trying to play it like a typical open world game, no wonder he's struggling. He's got no grasp of the combat mechanics or enemies and is pretty much button bashing which is a sure fire way of dying in a souls game. Even Asmongold puts him to shame. He should stick to assassin's creed.
Yeah, asmon actually took the time to understand how the souls series game mechanics work and adjust how he approached the games accordingly
