Amazing series!! I've just caught up!
I'm planning to do the same in my garden! Did you put through a PD application under the Caravan Act 1968 as well as a Planning Application so that it could be built using brick and mortar? How much did the architect charge for the design and planning process, please? And how much does the whole build cost, please?? Thank you kindly!!
Thank you.
No application under the caravan act required, just a regular application as with any extension. I designed the building and paid an architect around £2500 for the plan which had a couple of tweets to my design, mainly the floor to ceiling windows and 45 degree angle of the door to the bedroom. We saved around £1200 on architect fees as the builder was happy to work off plan and didn't need detailed drawings. Worth asking your builder about this as you don't want to waste the money if its not needed. I'll be going into detail about the costs of the build in the final video of the series, which I'm hoping will be within the next 5-6 weeks.
@@limitedinsight Thank you!
Unfortunately, time periods are given to secure the job. Once they get the job, the scheduled build time goes out the window. Cut down on the cups of tea and the woodbines. That will speed up the process.
