Ben also breaks down the big New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox series this past weekend where the Red Sox continue to stay hot and the Yankees continue to struggle. Ben talks about Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani becoming the first player this season to reach 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. Ohtani had 20 stolen bases all last year and Ohtani is just one home run away from 200 career home runs. Ben also updates his weekly MLB Power Rankings & more.

I totally agree with your answer on playing all sports up to HS.
The Cleveland Guardians are definitely the biggest surprise to this point. First year manager in Stephen Vogt and how well they have improved offensively over a year ago. Considering the fact that their personnel really did not change all that much. And losing Shane Bieber for the season with their starters being good but not great, with a lockdown closer in Emmanuel Clase. And to have five all stars including David Fry. Don't think too many had that happening on their bingo cards prior to the start of the season.

The FT guys made a great point about Pete Alonso. They pretty much said if everyone else wasn't snubbing the HR derby, Alonso might not be there. But Alonso makes the HR derby a priority and MLB wants that.

I've got a low-stakes question for next week but do you have a favorite all-star year? Whether it be because of who the players were or how the game/event was itself can be up to you.
Red Sox fans deserve so much better than this current front office, that refuses to invest in a competetive team.

This might be unpopular but I think Reese Olson is an all-star snub, yeah he's 3-8 but he has an era of 3.22 the Tigers just refuse to give him run support

Ronel Blanco should be an all star. The 5th best ERA in all of baseball and threw a no hitter in his first start of the season c'mon now
Phillies were mediocre with Girardi and moved on and promoted Thomson and went to the WS and NLCS and off to a record start. Time for the Yankees to move on from Boone. Not to mention the Yankees choose Boone over Thomson.
How is David Fry not the number 1 surprise all star?
Lindor's numbers were not anywhere near as good as either Mookie Betts or CJ Abrams. Not sure how that's remotely a snub when you compare their stats
