Great video! Glad I found your channel because I have the same motors and trying to do most of the maintenance myself. Also looks like your fishing in the same area I do, Raritan bay and Sandy Hook. Last year was my first season and love the fishing in the area. Tight Lines!
Excellent videos... when you generally flush your motor do you run the hose on the hose port for 10ish minutes or do some type of running of the engine? Will be changing my thermostats soon.
Thanks Captain! I flush them while still hot, with the engines OFF. If you want to run them you need to have the muffs on, or submerge the intakes in a barrel of water.
You are awesome at making these videos thank you so much! What is the torque setting of thermostat bolts? P.S. subscriber and told many friends to as well.
Excellent presentation! Great point in referencing the index location/drain holes when replacing the new thermostats. Thank you!
Thank you Daniel!

Jim T, thank you and good luck to you this season. Get ready for April stripers!!!
Thank you. Best insert a little light on that cam. Thank you again😊
I agree. That's one from my early days. I'm getting better on the filming and sound.
Your vids are great! Thanks for the part #! How do you make sure you are ordering the proper parts ahead of time?
Thanks Mike. Most of the parts websites will have the schematics for your specific motor, with every part number.

Awesome explanation thanks
You're welcome!
what torque wrench are you using? I cant find one that goes under lbs?
Hi Jim. Its a husky 3/8” drive from HD. It goes down to inch lbs.
@@4RibsFishing Thank you! And great Vid!
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why no mention or application of Torque specifications?
Sorry BC - Shop manual says 8.9ft lbs for t-stat bolts.
its German torque... goodn tight.
Good and snug
Can you use the original gasket?
There is no ‘gasket’ on the 4.2. The thermostat has a rubber o-ring/gasket surface. Just make sure the housing is clean. Thanks for watching!
There is on the parts diagram….
You the man thanks for the video's
You are welcome Austin!
