Another excellent video! Watched this tutorial and realized I didn’t have an o-ring! Ordered what I needed and got this simple job done. If I hadn’t watched your vid the old o-ring would have went back in! Thank you so much for the great detail in your videos.
Excellent video! Was even easier todo than shown. Just had my starboard 2023 F300 with only 260hrs shutdown and refuse to restart. Figured it was the fuel filter, watched your vid, changed it in literally less than 5 minutes and we're back up and running. Thanks
Best 5:48 I've spent in a long time, sir. Lots of experience shared there that you won't see in a manual... careful not to drop that bolt down in the lower cowl, don't double gasket, keeping pressure on the bolt / bracket, noticed the torque to remove and to install, I wonder if one of those keeper washers between the bolts and bracket would be a good idea.
That’s kind of you to say grunner30. I think the keeper would work, but after the first time you use the bracket to hold the bolt you will find you use that truck elsewhere.
How can I send you a video ? I have some strange black particles on the starboard side of my Vax sho 250 2015 looks like small bits of charcoal. Only on the bottom of lower cowling. From front hinge to shift rod.
Excellent point Cheez. What I didn’t show on the video was my view of what was in the bowl. Nothing but crystal clear 93 octane. There wasn’t a spec in that bowl!
I'm gonna disagree that everyone should do this. I just broke the fucking bowl because for God knows what reason they have torqued it on there insanely fucking tight. It's so annoying to have to buy a special tool.that will only get used once a year. This easily could have been designed so that water pump pliers could remove it.
@@4RibsFishing brand fucking new boat. Doing my 20 hr service. Annoying because we all know the fucking filter is fine, same with the fuel water separator in the boat but we gotta piss money away some don't void warranty
Okay, I came down off the ledge, the starboard one was easily removed by hand. Still super annoying to be out $100 but still.cheaper than paying a marine mechanic

@@KieranCox thank you. There's more F300 videos on the channel. Please subscribe!
Elegantly done, skip, thanks! Great training vid, much appreciated!

Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What makes filter fill up and leak down half way..fill up and back down. Every 30 secs it fill to top and back down
Your low speed pump aka take up pump fills the filter and your VST tank. Your high speed pump sends it to the motor from the VST.

Great video, do you have a part number for the filter wrench?
Thank you, I have a YB-ACC04-1
Why didn't you dump contaminants out of bowl. Seems like that would be wise being how you just bumped old fuel filter into it

Was there an issue that caused you to change the fuel filter or just regular maintenance?
Adam, every 100 hours I change them as part of regular maintenance.

And of course it's Yamaha so I bet this is a fucking $150 piece of plastic I now have to buy
Someone tightened it too much on you. I’m good for 3 100hr services a year, so the tool is worth it for me.
