BJD Basics: Applying or removing doll eyelashes

- Hi, everyone! This is another video for the doll hobby newcomers, or those just getting started in the customization aspect of the hobby.
Today I'm sharing a little information about how I work with doll eyelashes. I'll show you how to prevent unnecessary damage to your doll's faceup when removing old eyelashes, how to add new eyelashes, how to trim eyelashes to make them a better length for your doll, and how to patch gaps when you make mistakes or only need a small repair in one area.

I just messed up my dolls face and her eye lashes fell of one eye. I feel so careless. I did a quick youtube search for bjd eyelashes and I happened to land at this video. I’ve been watching some of your videos, Lomi, so when I heard your familiar and calm boice it was like “everything will be okay. Lomi will help me fix this.” 😊
This video is so helpful and we'll shot to boot. So far I've only had to reapply my dolls eyelashes when the default ones fell out but this video will be my go to when I have to apply new ones eventually.

You make it look so easy! I'm afraid my hands would be shaking the entire time.
It definitely takes some practice! My hands are pretty shaky too, but as long as you stay calm and patient it usually works out well.

Oh my goodness, you just saved my neck with the technique for using human lashes on smaller dolls. I'm doing my first faceup on an albino boy doll, and I bought white lashes meant for humans and panicked, but now I feel much better😅

Thank you for the helpful video. I would like to know how to apply the eyelashes when you can’t open your doll’s head.
Most eyelashes come with a sort of thread "base" that you can apply glue to - this can go on the outside of the doll's head as well, which is often done to add them to fashion dolls :) the overall principle is the same... Apply glue to the thread of the eyelashes, then use tweezers to stick them on where you want.
Oh man, I'd be way too scared to try trimming lashes, I'd probably mess it up so hard xD

I messed it up a good few times before I got comfortable doing it XD I went through a lot of ruined eyelashes. And you're close! It's Laele. Which I've been told I pronounce wrong, but I didn't realize it was a real name when I made it up by putting together sounds I liked :P
You mentioned every single one of the problems I’ve run into and trying to get eyelashes on my dog. The problem is my lies so it’s like trying to put eyelashes on Barbie. Do you know any way to do that?
