So I've been debating what to do about the second channel. It's an issue that I'm struggling with, and I'm unsure how to approach it. I'd like to lay out my concerns about it with y'all.
I like the writing channel but it does seem weird to separate it from the main channel.
I would say to bring it all back to your main channel. It’s probably hard dealing with two channels and making sure stuff is good. Separating writing and gaming videos into different channels might result in people not knowing you have a writing channel or a gaming channel. Putting them both together will make sure both the people who watch your writing videos and gaming videos are in one place.
Gonna be honest. I didn't even know you had a second channel... I think I'd prefer you had it on the main channel. I mean, either way you do it, your videos should advertise your writing content to some extent. If nothing else, have an end card linking to those videos.
I do actually. Most of my videos end with a card linking to my second channel...
@@RavenKnightYT I guess I don't pay attention.
Im a more recent fan. Me and my buddies started playing for honor our junior year of highschool and I gravitated towards your writing break down of for honor while my other friends started watching havok and withones. This is the forst time I’ve heard of the second channel but it’s right up my alley. So I’ll check it out. I would suggest you link your channel on all vids and mayeb try making some socials for your writing channel to build hype. Love you’re stuff Raven Knight shalom.
As a writer myself, subpar at best, I really enjoy the writing room as a resource. Your stories are inspiring and amazing. While I personally think that combining your writing channel with your gaming channel might bog it down, I understand any decision you ultimately make.
Didn't know you had a writing channel, so as a writer myself, I went ahead and subscribed. Writing is one of my favorite things to do. I am the DM for my D&D group and I got some passion project novels I'm working on. Whether you post writing content on this channel, or the writing channel, I will check it out!
I have an idea for what kind of direction you could take with the writing channel regardless of you keeping it separate, or bringing it back. Other short story channels on UA-cam thrive off of shorts, and high output content. If you focused on turning the writing channel into a shorts channel, I think you may get some traction that way, or even starting a TikTok may help. Your narration skills and passion are definitely good enough to get views, but many people nowadays don’t even read books. However, splitting a book up into 100 different short videos is something that many people indulge in without realizing. Another thing that could help is having some sort of low budget animation added to them, similar to how the channel Mr. Nightmare does with his horror stories. I hope that anything I said helps in one way or another, but if not I wish you the best on whatever route you choose👍👍
I think you should keep the second channel for now. I am a writer myself so l like your writing room channel, to get inspired, to share or gain knowledge. I for one enjoys your Troy and Frost story. About that, l have a suggestion, maybe you should show pictures of each character that speaks. I don't know, maybe that will lift the viewer ratio? Nah, just to what you feel like, Raven👍
Upload on main. I like channels that do everything they want instead of speeding or over multiple YTs, i have different tastes and you cover a good few things. If it harms you with the algorithm, i dont know if it's worth bringing it back. It depends on your position, if you care about channel growth and getting views, niche and separate channels "should" perform better. I like it all in one place.
Personally I had no idea about other written channel until now, however as a written myself ur a huge inspiration. Personally I'd love to for you to keep supporting the writing channel
Raven I've been watching you for about 3 years now and I love all your content but you gotta realize that you are in a very niche genre of UA-cam like for honor its growing steady but kinda slow, and you gotta see what gets you out there like your most popular videos are on for honor and talking about the deeper lore of the game and I love those truly but still its niche. I think where you could branch out to reach a bigger audience is history, Raven you have a very soothing voice when you are calmly reading and me personally I think you reading history and storys on for honor warhammer and overall history it could help you but just a thought, love from Michigan. Keep your chin up and stay strong Raven.
I think fantastical history can be done here,it fits more than let's say ,, death's diary"
DUDE! Your channel is beyond awesome and has so much potential. What you could do with this channel just like with your response videos is go into the actual history of the lore. Something akin a a channel like “JON SOLO” except more focused on history and the different religious principles behind these games.
You kind of did this within your response video to Assassin’s Creed Shadows but actually talking about who people like Nobunaga were.
You would probably get a lot of backlash, but the very hard truth is despite these awesome worlds that some of these developers create as time has gone on, it’s very apparent that a lot of them are children in putting what they want to be the truth. It’s not reality and I think you are the man talk about these principles in a way that does not harass or attack these falsities but tell the truth in which it really was.
YOU’RE THE MAN RAVEN🙌
To be honest, I think you should have everything on this youtube channel. Because you still have some sort of writing on this channel. Like the legends, it might be also less stressful only managing one channel instead of two. Love your videos i hope you keep up the amazing work.
If you passionate about writing leave the 2nd channel and don't worry about the views and subs just put out your writing so that you're able to share your passion with the world and whether it gets popular or not that's your passion so don't see it as a choir see it as your baby and nurture it until it grows up on its own and your proud of what it's become. Also give it time progression will eventually show
If you don’t have a TikTok then I’d advise getting one to upload your stories. You could give a little snippet of your favourite part and then promote the second channel by saying “full story on my UA-cam”
Your writing content like the Writing Room and story ideas were why Initially subbed and I thought it was weird that I mostly see response videos (love those because your takes are good), and For Honor content (a game that I have never played and am unlikely to start playing). So I'd say the best thing to do is consolidate everything back onto this channel and follow your actual passion. Be true to yourself, Raven. Don't let something like a money and popularity focused algorithm dictate what you make. That's how burnout happens. And I don't want to see you, one of the few true bastions of creativity and passion, not to mention common sense, on this platform burn out.
I don't know if I was one of the guys who encouraged you to make the second channel but I know I should speak my mind on this, I think you should put all your writing and lore back on your original channel, maybe remake it to larks channel? Idk but the writing channel isn't what's getting noticed right now
am sad the second channel did not get more attention cause the vid of writhing story sharing bible studies fantasticl history. but i think it would be a better adventage to have your writhing on the main channel since you gain alot of popularity
Whichever channel it's on raven your content is the best and I'll watch it
I think it’s better to bring it all on one channel because it’s such a hustle to have the separate channels
Oh my god that title scared me for a minute with all the UA-camrd quitting recently or announcing that they will upload less frequently anyway'id say you should go for what you want my suggestion would be to keep the second channel up for a few months see how it goes and then decide what you wanna do keep grinding bro love your videos 👍
I don't know how the algorithm works. I haven't checked out your writing vids, I probably should. I found you from your response videos ^^;; I forgot you had a second channel. Maybe have them back on this one? Again, idk how YT's bot will accept it because the bot is weird and YT is weird as it seems like they will just ignore some channels making vids that get attention while promoting others. I know I've been seeing weird random channels with little to zero views for their videos last month and this month with content that doesn't really fit with what I've watched/like. So I'm not sure? I'll try looking at your writing vids as I am a writer but I don't often check out writing vids from people even though I've been told it can be good to do.
Id just focus on this channel. Move the stuff back to reach a wider audience for your writing, got into your channel via your responses to extra credits cause I thought they were good and well thought out. Even enjoyed your fantasy thought videos if other races of creatures existed, like harpies, lamia, and the spider folk video. I just think having it all on one channel where you make a variety of content is better then two separate ones is what I trying to say ^^ hope that makes sense. But I’ll still support you in any way dude cause your videos are entertaining.
4:13 hell yeah raven
While I get the concern about the writing videos bogging down things as far as the algorithm goes, if you enjoy making that content and you want it to be noticed, you should port the videos back over to your main channel. Folks who aren't interested won't watch it, but I remember those videos doing reasonably well on this channel back in the day. It's a simple matter of the main channel being more visible. I would also say, don't be discouraged if the writing videos you port over don't garner a lot of views early on, it'll take time for everyone to adjust to it again.
Could u make a official lore channel about for honor before and after the story mode aswell?
If the main channel represents you, then the channels should come back together. I believe I did want them to be separated back then, and to be honest, I haven't been following your channels recently. I'd say to do what feels right to your channel because I believe that this channel is you, and it's wrong to separate yourself for whatever reason. It was both For Honor and writing that grew this channel, even if one did better than the other.
I feel like it would better support people seeing your writing stuff. But I feel bad that you just moved a lot of stuff to the second channel. But now you have to put it all back where it was.
I don't know how/if it affects the youtube algorithm when there's videos that do worse in comparison to others, so can't give advice on that.
But I would think that having everything on one channel would make it easier for newer people to find it. (However, since it is a bit different from your other content, it still might not get as much views.)
It took me a while after watching your content before I even noticed you have a second channel. (I'm aware now, that you advertise it)
You should know you are not the only one dealing with this. Jonathon Young literally just uploaded a video 5 days ago (as of writing this comment) talking about the EXACT same issue. although his i believe dealt a lot with how the algorithm has once again changed on youtube. it might not be problematic anymore to have it all in one place. I recommend checking his video out cause he goes a bit into more detail on the matter but honestly i think it might be better all in one place now.
Having different channels for different genres is smart but having 2 channels is more work
Im thinking about putting it all on a single channel is better, haing the videos on lists so that they dont get confuse is important
give it atry on this channel to see if the traffic makes it worth
@ravenknight I personally like the second channel but ive noticed that as you said it hasn't grown
I think it might be best if you were to brings both channels back together
Keep it.
I may be a bit late but id say post a video the same video on both channels to see which one does better if the writing channel does better keep it up if they do about the same keep it up but if the og channel does better move everything back
I would say for the greater good, drop the second channel it’s dead weight
Perhaps its better if you keep just your main channel, transfer all the videos from the the second channel and then delete it.
Personally I think that it would be best to move the writing content onto this channel so it will reach your current subscribers
a fair suggestion but there would be problems you see his audience are a diverse lot looking for different things his writing, narration , and gaming this could lead our raven knight here to inconsistencies what gets posted when? whilst both channels have both writing/narration they are for differing content this channel is about entertainment and for honour the other one is about writing in general they both serve a different purpose and a different audience if both content is funneling down into one the channel will bloat with everything everywhere and his views might stagnate his situation was bound to come since not many people care about writing
my suggestion though it might not help advertise the story you want to receive traction on this channel advertise the content not the channel don't know if this will work but he hasn't tried it that or hope he strikes gold like he did with his main channel
What was the finisher at the start
That's the new finisher that's available from purchasing the battle pass for this season.
@@RavenKnightYT Thx btw i subbed to your second Channel bc that means more raven knight content❤️
I feel like the problem is For Honor. Devs are not giving us enough gaming experience. They need to give us more battlefields, environments, and goals. For a long time it seems that all they care about its hero skins and silly stuff
Hey
The evidence is very clear the second channel is just not working I'm sorry to say. This channel that you posted this video is more successful now, people know who you are, you have a stable fan base, and the views are reasonable. If I would have known you before you made Raven's writing room i would have told you don't do it, reason why is because you will be caught in the crossroad like you are now. I garente if you keep that channel you will be not just physically sick but also mentally exhausted, you will lose your passion and gift that i can see you have even though i never understood nor get into literature, and your probably wondering how do I know this well because I've been where you're at and boy do i miss that golden brain I had. I really wish I could have it back but sadly it's just moving forward me, i say this cause I don't want you to end up like me an old 28 year old who wasted time and ended up an empty husk i can't bare seeing you like that. What I'm trying to say is get rid of that channel and transfer all that knowledge you put into this channel you'll feel so much better. Yeah you'll have fans that will say " ohh why would you get rid of it" and things like that all I can say is let that train hit you and pick up those pieces to make you whole again and you know what you're gonna have what they don't have experience. We the community that knows common sense will probably tell you the same as I'm doing now if not will that's just what would I'd do, even your friends like Hannah, tech, havock, lark everyone close to you would agree to get rid of it and continue their support as i will for this channel. That's all i gotta say Raven I'm just looking out for you and I'm pleading and implur you please don't fall like I did
