I agree. I would recommend people to watch both. The animations are so in sync with the jokes because Bill tells these stories with so much detail. The guy paints the picture. Having said that. The original stand up version is really good because Bill has natural histrionic abilities and he plays so well with the Mic that you'd miss some of the Spectacle if you don't actually WATCH him.
this "re-animated" bill burr helicopter bit (as w/ every re-animated stand-up) is a travesty, a veritable crime against comedy. do not re-animate stand-up comedy. don't do it. your mind is powerful enough. don't even watch 'em, just listen to the audio and create your own world. re-animations suck, they tell you exactly what to see bc it assumes that you can't think of that shit on your own. it is all the way condescending, should be illegal, and punishable by cruise ship. anywaysh! find the live action version, of bill actually performing it ...bc yes, HOLY SHIT, is it masterful. he is an amazing performer, he puts you in that cockpit, and then again as the old man falling from it. superb. one of the absolute best comedy bits ever written ...along with his "final solution (cruise ship)" bit
@@soth1sol Yup! Bill Burr is great at what he does. Now, I'd say it again. Why not watch both versions? I don't think it's too bad in this case maybe because I saw the live action one many times before the animated version came out. Although, I would have made these cartoons faces more expressive. May I assume that you're not a big fan of novel-based movies either?
The animation is fantastic I totally agree with you but like so many others already said, it's worth seeing the bit when he performs it too. Great reaction as always either way!
this bit might go down as one of the best bits of all time. The delivery, the sound effects, the telling of the story, every part of this is a mastercraft in stand up jokes.
This was really funny and I love the animated version but i'm glad I saw it after I saw the vid of Bill doing it live. I didn't feel like it ruined the cartoon version at all and Bill does a lot when he tells it to sell it live.
@@MrSmokeytehbear You won't believe me but I don't like watching shows when the hype is high. It's just how I am. So, I watched Breaking Bad 5 years after the whole show ended. So, there I was being a fan of Bill Burr for 7 or 8 years and I was completely oblivious to the fact that he was on the show but what a great surprised. I just felt stupid congratulating him on Twitter for being on that show 6 years after the fact... Lol
Ive got fibro mialsia. Im at a 5 on the pain scale on my best days. I salute this man. I'm not ready to check out yet, but when the day comes, i'll honor his sacrifice. I'll make sure we're over land.
The story I heard was that a fan did the animation for this but they blocked it for copyright. Bill Burr heard about it, and since he liked the video, he posted it on his channel. Thanks for your reaction.
Eyyy I'm early, love Bill burr, he's for sure one of the top 10 comedians, so good at setting up a joke, using the mic with distance and body language, 10/10
like some others have mentioned as well, the "Live" version is better IMO BECAUSE of Bill Burrs mannerisms and whatnot. I do love this animation as well, but to me, you should either watch the live by yourself, or even do another reaction to the live sometime later. Such a good bit!
Hmmm...he's thinkin "the water below will break my fall!"...then reality sets in ..."this could be a belly bustin deal breaker!"...Hmmm...Ty brother for this
You may want to consider an "F Is For Family" reaction series. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in saying I'd definitely sit through it with you. And I'm reasonably sure you'd love the show
**** Bill Burr's Netflix Animation series. F Is For Family, loosely based on his father, and growing up in the 70's. Here is the perfect solution to your request for more Bill Burr animation.****
Do not agree about animation making it better, but I see where you are coming from. If one wants to see stand-up as an art form, which some do, then the ability of the comedian to convey the humor with only a mic + stool is key. Bill has mastered microphone control for sound effects & punctuation to jokes, etc... Maybe it is a purist take on it, but I know I am not alone.
Have you seen F is for Family on Netflix? An animated series created by Bill Burr. He voices the father but it's based loosely on Bill's own childhood. He would be the youngest son, Billy. I like it. It's not really for kids though. Plenty of swearing and a few 'off' topics. You just have to imagine Bill Burr's mind to imagine what some of the episodes are like! Lol
As the great Gilbert Gottfried once said, “…comedy and tragedy are roommates. And they're very strange roommates but they're always together. And if tragedy is around then comedy is not far behind.”
Bummer it's the animated one. There is so much physical acting he does that you don't see. Be sure to check out normal one on your own time when you get a chance. It's from one of his specials, I think the black and white one. Also his Gorilla Story bit even trumps this one I think.
Everyone has their own preferences I guess. I've seen both multiple times and the animated one is way better in my book. Him making sound effects on a dark stage didn't really bring the story to life for me.
I don’t know of any B. B. Animations besides this one, but if you want this kind of thing you should check out Patton Oswalt. Specifically “Christmas shoes”, “The chipmunks Christmas”, and definitely “Black Agnus Steak”. Amazing adaptations of comedy storytelling turned visual.
Dude... the video of him doing this stand up is sooooo much better. This is great but you have to go back and watch how brilliant he is at illustrating the story with his body and mic work.
Bills animated face is far better than the animation itself. But the standup bits out there cut off the ending. So at least he heard the whole story here.
The phrase "I can't breathe" doesn't make me think of the comedic genius of Bill Burr. It reminds me of something much more depressing. It is a funny bit tho.
the ricky gervais show does animation for their episodes back in the day and there is some amazing funny stories. I'm sure the must be some clips you can pull from the full episodes?
i'd say shorties watching shorties or dave cook, shorties watching shorties is a comedy central show that was basically a bunch of animated stand up skits, they're hard to find tho tbh
If you like bill burr animations you should watch the animated show bill burr made :') its called: "F is for Family" and is roughly based around his family growing up.
more bill burr animations? this was made by a fan but i dunno if he has more. he has his own cartoon show if you are interested in. but for fan made animation, some person made about 40 hours long of animation for ricky gervais podcasts. you might check it out.

“Need more Bill Burr” animation” There’s a whole series, it’s called F IS FOR FAMILY.
He's most likely referring to fan animations of his stand-ups
YES!
Amazing show!
No, this was made by a fan.
His stand up of the this story is my favorite. The way he sets up the different perspectives and his impressions are both on point.
This one is absolutely hilarious. And sad. But also hilarious 😂🖤
...
I'm gonna be honest, I prefer the non-animated version of this. Watching the animation means you missed the awesome pantomime he did for the jump.
I agree.

Watch the live version. You'll love it ! You rock

This bit is by far my favorite comedy bit ever

Burr's body language is soo underrated, this bit exemplifies it
I love both versions of this bit. Some more Bill Burr please
I would say comedy is a form of art. So calling him an artist is fine IMO.
And...he has made several movies and has been on TV series too.

I want to see Josh Wolf's "Favorite Practical Joke" animated! Also the helicopter business is still thriving.
Ok, I love the non animated and the animated one of this. Both are fantastic for different reasons.
If you want Bill Burr animation, watch his show "F is for Family". great show.
LOL...You finally found this.....my belly hurt so bad from laughing the first time I heard it "This is way worse!!!!!"

I love the animated version 😂😂😂
Finally! Helicopter story has been requested soooo long time now 😁
Anyone who can make such a tragic death funny as hell is a comedy genius
I dont know if the animation makes it better, Bill does a hell of a job acting out the situation live 😂😂😂😂
This is the one I was waiting for 😂😂

Oh yes! the helicopter story. Idk why but I love this so much.
Bill Burr explaining Meshuggah the animation is EPIC and so funny.
The real irony is Bill actually learned to fly helicopters and is now a fully licensed helicopter pilot.
The animations are great but watching his physical performance on stage is watching a master do stand up. His physicality is perfect during this joke.
One of my favorite reactions I've seen of yours. You tend to be more reserved and ur really laughing. Love it.
That was funny. Wasn't expecting that ending!👍👍
YAS! Been waiting for you to get to this one. Best to you, brother!
LOVE THIS

F is for Family Frank's funniest moments is 🔥🔥
This animation is a great tribute, but the original act is so worth seeing. Bill is a master of nuanced mic work.
Cant wait to you see bill burr---old man face
Omg 😱 saw this and clicked 😂
This is a true story. I remember reading it in the news.

I love the animated Stoopid animated muffin punching story
This story is 100% true. Look up orange county man jumps from helicopter
I think I´ve never seen you laugh this hard :)
There is only one Bill Burr!
The Machine animation of Bert Kreischer's story is fucking amazing.

yeah the stand up piece is better than the animated one. He plays it all out so perfectly.
I concur
We need less Bill Burr animations, his physical comedy and facial expressions are so much better
Everyone has their own preferences I guess. I've seen both multiple times and the animated one is way better in my book. Him making sound effects on a dark stage didn't really bring the story to life for me.
He literally enjoyed it. So no. Not a bummer.
Got to wonder what that guys family thinks of everyone laughing at his story! They probably said Dad would be happy he's in a famous comedy bit!
Comedy central used to have a few different shows where they animated stand up comedy bits. Need to bring those back.
I agree with your comment on more animations!
The non animated version of this is great in its own right. I like both probably equally. But Bill's body language on stage is great for this one

Dave Chappelle animation clips are funny af too lol

Bill Burr acting the whole thing live is a lot funnier than the animation
I believe there is a YT channel called BB Animations for more animated Billiam Burr
There's a bloke who done these sorts of animations for Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart bits...👀👌🔥👏👏😂😂😂
