      Truth: God never changed the design of unclean animals and thus, The Health Laws are in effect that protects us from them. What we eat has created the diseases, viruses, genetic disorders etc....we suffer by.
      Pigs we are not to eat = Truth. Almost no one wants that Truth. Only Truth, is when it does not affect oneself ability3 to do as you want. Not able to eat pork etc... for the rest of your life while Satan has pork everywhere is really hard to do.

    I remember having a conversation with my grandmother (born 1921) about 10-12 years ago. Somehow the topic of men hitting their wives came up. I told her that most men my age (born 1970) and younger consider men who do that to be cowards. She was genuinely surprised. In 1965 in a Playboy interview, Connery said “I don’t think there is anything particularly wrong about hitting a woman, although I don’t recommend doing it in the same way that you’d hit a man.” He then talked about how an openhanded slap could be justified “if all other alternatives fail and there has been plenty of warning.”
    In 1987 during an interview with Barbara Walters he said his opinion had not changed on the matter. “If you have tried everything else - and women are pretty good at this - they cant leave it alone. They want to have the last word and you give them the last word, but they’re not happy with the last word. They want to say it again, and they get into a really provocative situation, then I think it’s absolutely right.”
    In 1993 he stated “But what I was really saying was that to slap a woman was not the crudest thing you could do to her. I said that in my book - it’s much more cruel to psychologically damage someone…to put them in such distress that they come to hate themselves. Sometimes there are women who take it to the wire. That’s what they’re looking for. The ultimate confrontation - they want a smack.”
    In 2006 he continued but said that his previous comments were not exactly in the proper context, and stated “I don’t believe that any level of abuse against women is ever justified under any circumstance. Full stop.”
    This actually all pairs well with Burr’s standup bit about There’s No Reason To Hit A Woman.

    There are some people now calling for the new James Webb Space Telescope to be renamed. James Webb (1906-1992) was a career bureaucrat, and the most important job he held was the head of NASA in the '60s when the U.S. was working toward landing on the Moon. Previously, he held other jobs in the federal government in the late '40s and early '50s, when it was official policy that all homosexuals be fired from government jobs. Someone recently asked me what it was that James Webb did that people are upset about. I replied that Webb committed the "crime" of not building a time machine, travelling into the future to learn that mistreating gay people is wrong, returning to his job in his own time, and then single-handedly thwarting the anti-gay policy approved by Presidents Truman and Eisenhower.

Which sounds to me like he's describing an absolute nutcase woman following him around screaming and slapping him. Of course, I could be biased, but that's just the situation that comes to mind.

    That5 is the thing about history. You can totally see the actions of the people in the past through your own moral filter but they just like the historical context that framed their actions do not change. Pretending people of the past behavior to line up with the values and customs of our current time is an impossible standard. Those people did not have the same frame of reference we do and the social circumstances of their time are totally different. If those old statements were made by someone today knowing what we know as a society they would rightfully cause outrage and condemnation yet they might be judged totally differently in say 20 to 30 years as social perspectives evolve.

    LMAO did you really censor the words Nazi and Holocaust? Was this to avoid some weird UA-cam demonetization algorithm or a personal choice?
    I guess this means we won't be allowed to talk about that time period soon enough.

      Yep, concealing language is part of the problem. Forbidding words is a sure way to inhibit people from learning about history. It's a very slippery slope and part of the reason we are in this place in 2022. Carlin did a great bit about the uniquely American pastime of changing language to make controversial topics more palatable. Shell shock to operational exhaustion to battle fatigue to ptsd. Softer language to describe the same condition, yet we still haven't figured out how to treat the condition.

      @@artis1969 And to take it a step further, it is rooted here in exactly what the clip was about. The guy is afraid of being cancelled for having the word Nazi in his video. It is such huge ignorance to not realize that being "woke" is essentially destroying the first amendment.

      @artis1969 2 роки тому

      @@johnjohn37371 In fairness, we don't know who did the censoring. But regardless, if it was Mr. Boyd or youtube, your point is still valid. Once the precedent is set, it opens the flood gates for any and all censorship. This ground was once owned by progressives, along with the anti-war movement. And supporting the 1st amendment is a simple enough idea and an airtight argument. Yet they have ceded that stance in the name of stupidity, it seems.

      @@artis1969 Amazing times we are living in...I fear we are raising a generation of very "touchy feely" children that will lack the fortitude and common sense to compete on the world stage...I know that sounds exaggerated, but I do have some concern...

    • @artis1969
      @artis1969 2 роки тому

      @@johnjohn37371 I don't think that fear is unfounded. We've become a society full of inherent contradiction. We have a wealth of information at our fingertips, yet we are less able to think for ourselves. We need every space to be a safe space, so we're losing our ability to handle difficult or complicated situations. Or even hold conversations about such things. We've allowed ourselves to be diminished to the point where we cast others into one of two camps, on every issue, on the basis of for or against, and those others do the same right back.
      It isn't exaggeration. It just feels that way because it seems no one ever talks about it-even though we now live in a world of 24/7 nonstop news cycles where all people do is talk.
      And it is a generational thing. Growing up in the 1970s, I heard all the stories about the great depression, how life was so much easier for younger people in post war America, etc, even though it became a stated goal to provide a better world for one's children than their parents. So there's always that slight prejudice about younger people being softer. But we were still taught the value of hard work, the importance of being responsible, and how to treat people with consideration and respect. Now it seems the willingness to face difficult, or as it's described to me, "awkward" situations is missing in our communities. Now I feel like I'm on a soapbox.

    Look at the founders of Adidas and Puma. Both are brothers.
    Puma was founded by Rudolph Dassler, and Adidas was founded by his younger brother Adolf Dassler (aka Adi Dassler = Adidas). Both joined the Nazi party in 1933, just months after Hitler was named Chancellor. Adi went to become a coach of, and supplier to clubs in the Hitler Youth movement(a paramilitary organization). Members of the Hitler Youth were viewed as ensuring the future of Nazi Germany and they were indoctrinated in Nazi ideology, including racism.
    Both brands are sold in Israel, and Puma is the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association.
    VW is another Nazi formed company.
    In no way am I writing this from an activist standpoint, I have and will continue to rock both brands. I'm just adding on to Bill's point of the irony in these situations. Lol Activists will only call out shit that doesn't affect them. But, since those same activists have most likely worn, and or still own one of these brands products, they avoid it like plague haha
