After waiting in a hospital for your son's surgery, then off to repair the Wrecker and recover a side by side; Matt could not hide his emotions but he managed to complete the task in front of him, even out of uniform. Looks like lessons are needed for how to operate the wrecker. ❤❤
Have Tom write an owners manual! He needs a little aggravation:)
Sounds like the wrecker has a exhaust leak or two and a few other items fixed for good.
@@leewelbanks6366 Exhaust leak? Do you mean the wires/pipes getting hot on the right side? That is not caused by a leaking exhaust. That's caused by insufficient heat shielding.
@@anteshell gotta wrap those rascals!
@@anteshell It has an exhaust leak. I'm sure he was going by the sound, not the wires getting hot
Wow. Hats off to Collin for the courage it takes to go through all that and still be happy and stable and productive. You go, Collin!
When you are in a situation like that you really don't have a choice.
What happened to Collin?
🙌yay Collin!
@@SeanHenderson-gn8ifexactly
@@vegask2 he was in a car crash almost a decade ago and his leg was severed above the knee, which they reattached, but it’s resulted in lots of surgeries and complications. The surgery in this video was to shorten one of his legs so both of them are the same length.
Also, I believe his name is spelled Kaulin, but perhaps I’m wrong.
This is THE number one reason I LOVE to watch this channel: Despite all the trials folks go through NO ONE loses his "cool" and completes the task WITHOUT using foul language, or shows anger. KUDOS to ALL Matt's family members and crew!
they're all on video that's why
It's simply a choice...one CHOOSES to make. Even though I grew up in a household that used very 'colorful' language (German descent, and Dad was a career Navy man...as was I, eventually), I CHOSE to stop using foul language after my kids were born. It was easy, as I didn't want to be the one my kids picked it up from. Now that they're adults, I rarely hear any from them either.
Or the editor smartly discards the cussing and anger portions of the video :). Either way I love it.
I mean they show you what they want to show you lol. It’s not like it’s live. But I get what you’re saying .
"Matt Exposed a Fake!" -- a 'secret' video of all the edit outtakes where Matt is cussing, throwing stuff, breaking tools, and mistreating employees...
Matt is the most level headed person i have ever seen, he handles stress better than anybody i know for sure!
Amen to that, I would've been cursing and it wouldn't have ended well.
You only see what the editors want you to see.
@@CM-xr9oq Yes! Matt is pretty chill. BUT, I've seen his face or heard his voice as things go south in these videos and you can tell his temper is rising. They usually cut scene haha
Huge kudos to Jefe on this one!!
His brakes failed while driving an unfamiliar rig and he was able to get it stopped without injuries or catastrophic damage to either vehicle.
It's wild that brakes failed on both vehicles! What are the odds?
it sounds like the hill causes magic brake fade lmfao
I would consider breaking the transmission by jamming it in park to be catastropic damage, but thats just me.
@@davidmore190 Meh, its a rebuilt transmission. A wrecker rolling down a hill would be catastropic
@@davidmore190 From experience that doesn't work. You would be much better off putting it in reverse, but with that side beside behind the wrecker it wasn't really an option without potential damage.
@@davidmore190 catastrophic implies it cant be salvaged (ie: crushed, torn to pieces, exploding, etc). Catastrophic transmission damage sure, not vehicle damage.
Matt is an impressive human. Philosopher, dad, husband, boss, mechanic, designer and Peanut loves him !
The last part there is the most important ;-)
That a pretty good indicator of a good human dog’s intuition doesn’t lie, and Ed loves him like a son too.
Amen to that!
Matt is truly a renaissance man and start of the show, but having visited the yard and gotten a little peek behind the scenes; Jamie (sp?) is clearly the glue that holds the operation together.
"I''m a fan !!"
Hey Matt. 25 years in
trucks and heavy equipment and 9 years oilfield any time everybody walks away without getting hurt after equipment failure is a glorious day. I've seen it go the other way more times than I care to remember.

I hope all is well with Collin. I wanted to share my dads story. In 1977 my dad was in accident that severed his arm off just above the elbow. When the first responders came he asked them to bring his arm. At the first hospital they told my dad there was nothing they could do. Two weeks prior my dad read a story about a Dr. Reeder ( I think that is how you spell it) who had developed a technique for limb replantation. At the time he was at Orthopedic Hospital in Los Angeles. My dad asked if they would call and see they would take him, Before he knew it, my mom, my dad and his arm packaged in ice between his legs were in a helicopter off to Los Angeles. Historically, my dad is the 2nd limb replantation patient. At the time, he achieved 35% use of his arm. When I see stories like your sons, it always moves me. My dad is such a resilient man who takes life in stride. They learned a lot of from dads experience. Somewhere in your sons success is a little of my dad. We don't always understand why bad things happen in our lives. One thing is for sure, God can turn anything bad and use it for good! Praying for a quick recovery for Collin!
I hope all is good with your dad. Best wishes to him AND Colin.
That you so much for sharing! What a moving story.

Damn, Matt went through an emotional rollercoaster this video. It's incredible how he stayed calm and collected throughout the entire day.
You could see how subdued he was though.
I'm glad everyone worked out ok.
guess he is tired from the hospital visit.
You mean for the short parts that we saw.
He does give the impression being Yoda like. Even after a tough few personal days, keeping his head and not blaming the team, then educating them on how to improve and also the point of mechanical failure. Really does seem like an incredible boss/ human all round to me 🤘
He was too tired to be emotional!
We are flattered that you MORR guys would share such highly personal details of Colin’s journey and inviting us into your lives like this.
Speak for yourself a$$hole. You dont speak for every person who watches this.
YOU are flattered. I could care less. Kid got in a wreck. Big whoop.
I love that y’all took us all along on your son’s hospital visit. It really shows that you have one of the best family-oriented UA-cam channels! Thanks MORR!
Man oh man...Matt is really just a good old genuine guy!!!! Takes everything in his Stride. God bless your son. Hope he comes right soon. Greetings from South Africa.
I have no doubt that Rudy, Colin, and Rhett will have the fondest memories of working with Dad. Look back in 40 years and tell me I'm wrong. Best wishes to this incredible family.
Out of curiosity: who's his fourth son...? 🤔
@@WatanabeNoTsuna. I should know, but I don't remember his name. Shame on me. Someone will reply with his name, I'm sure.

“He’s not wrong. He’s got three other kids that are pretty awesome.” - Simultaneously the most hilarious and heartwarming thing on this channel.
Even though Matt was tired and emotionally drained he still was cool and kind through the whole ordeal. That's why he's the Captain or King, or Top Dog. Definitely a role model for all of us.
It's easy to not get mad when you're rich & it doesn't matter.
I can appreciate Matt and how he stays so calm even though under stress.
I wish I had that mentality.
Just start thinking about how getting upset never helps. If you can get that branded into your brain by thinking about that when you see others do it. Then over time it will become normal to think that way then you have the tools to correct yourself and work towards being a better you. Just take little steps to reach those goals and you will get there.
Being in constant high stress and lots of high priority things going on I find some people start to get "numb" where you just roll with the punches but also being super focused... happens to myself at times where things would normally annoy me quit bothering for a period of time. But then if not eating/sleeping right it'll start catching up. I'm sure Matt was super happy his son's surgery went well and the wrecker job went as good as it could have gone with the brake issue.
@@TioDavevery solid advice 👍👍
Actually Heffe compared to Matt is not as experienced but handled a potentially catastrophic accident like a pro. Awesome job Heffe and Rhett!
he's on public video he has no choice
The most over kill jump start ever lol. Man seeing it pull up next to a regular size suv really puts the size in perspective
"Find out what part it is and just never buy that part again". I like that... By the end of life, everything should be working. That was a great job saving the rig, good thinking.
Hey Matt, I just wanted to let you know as a person who grew up in children’s hospitals having dozens of surgeries also… I just wanted you to know that the fear and anxiety does go away. Also, I have a love and appreciation for my mom who went through it all with me, and I know your son will feel the same.
I still hate needles too tho… lol
I hope Colin gets better without complication and he should know that’s there’s a few of us out here who understand what he’s going through and it does get better and we’re fortunate to have modern medicine.
Stay safe out there!

Matt, you must have been emotionally drained after that day. "All's well that ends well" as they say. So glad your son's surgery went well. That's what is important. I keep being impressed with the capability of the wrecker! Why hasn't anybody named it yet? "The worlds largest off-road wrecker" is desciptive, but not a name... We need a naming contest!

4:08 Foreshadowing? Or does this hill have a curse on it?
8:34 No brakes.
So glad everyone is safe. That story about Collin is insane. So glad he was able to keep his leg. Much love to Matt and his family.
Yeah thats a spooky coincidence.
"If it doesn't work out, I have three other sons at home just about as good!" Hahaha. Something I would've told my kids in a similar situation. Its a sign of a family that is secure in each other's love that can tease like that.
Rhett hopping in the wrecked buggy being pulled by the wrecker with the possibility of no brakes, reminds me of the blind faith I had in my dad and it warms my heart to see. I’ve seen so many kids these days argue with their dads, thinking they know more. This just reminded me that it’s not a universal thing. Thanks for the reminder.🌺
I know it's his business and he's ultimately responsible for taking care of it, but Matt sure is a selfless person. I spent almost a year with my daughter in the hospital, and I can tell you just how mentally and emotionally draining it can be.
You guys need to add an decent electric chainsaw to your equipment list. Lol
Collin is an amazing man, even if we don't see much of him on videos; he has persevered through all these years. A strong family has helped get him through this ordeal.
Moral of the story: Make sure the operator of your equipment can explain the function of EVERY doo-dah switch/lever/pedal/control in the cab or they are not competent to be let out without a leash. Don't court failure and disaster by assuming things will work out if your guys don't fully know what does what. Entertaining video as per usual. Keep up the great stuff.
I love the "where not going to use the rear steer" then uses it multiple times
Barely into this one and I think I need to pause and prep for it myself! But that line...."he's not wrong, he's got three other boys who are pretty awesome." Legend!
Man, I remember being in weird, crazy, difficult situations like this with my dad, uncles, and brothers (and daughter). Honestly it does my heart good to see you guys work the problem together, stay calm, get along, and get it done. Hope your son is healing quickly and glad the surgery went well. That's a lot for a young man to go through. But his positive attitude in spite of all he's been through is a credit to your family.
I greatly admire the entire crew with MORR. They all stay level-headed and realize that stuff breaks. I'm very new to wheeling but have a decent amount of experience with custom vehicles and know how frustrating these things can become. Great job to you all! That's my thought as well. Jefe's quick thinking kept a potential tragedy from happening.
Wow, how can a break switch like that even be allowed when there's just the normal electrical on the pedal?

When they crashed the wrecker the first thought was
“this is my fault”
When Matt received the call about the broken wrecker he thought
“I feel bad”

Matt you are an example to me . With everything you were going thru with Colin and then the wrecker and you just calmly plugged away till you got it going . God bless you and your family
Best of luck and sending prayers for Colin. Our oldest broke his lower leg in high school football. Numerous surgeries, two plates (one broke and one bent) , then finally an external fixater (a 3 ring halo) to straighten the leg. He just turned 36 and it still swells and bothers him. But it doesn't slow him down. He hunts, camps and works as a maintenance mechanic where he has to climb 40 feet up feed mill equipment. So Best of luck to your son. He'll be fine.
Rhett and Jefe did a good job right up to the point of the brake failure! LOL!! Not their fault. I might suggest an all inclusive training session on the operation of the wrecker for ALL the employees AND family 😁 Thanks to Matt's mechanical knowledge the day (and the job) was saved!! Great video!!
That's a heartwarming video on so many levels. Colin, looking forward to having you back behind the wheel Jefe is a rock star! !! !!!
You should look into the story about the time a buyer for Subaru bought brake peddle switches that turned out to be counterfeit and they installed them on many cars. An investigation found they had been compromised by the fumes of a workers purfume that melted a seal made of the wrong material. I knew "au de grandma" was strong but that's rediculus.
Jefe would have been great on the recovery if Matt had given him the needed training on the wrecker. He would have known about the low low and engine breaking.
But Jefe saved the wrecker from a bigger accident for sure.

I really enjoy the Jefe is comfortable enough to ask for help and just reset on the situation instead of blindly making things worse.
Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Kaulin, being surrounded by such a supportive family makes everything easier.
Matt, for the love of god… get a tool kit. You can go to harbor freight and get a combo set with every thing for like $200.
Since you can't remember stuff and have trouble with variables, I suggest creating an equipment checklist and reviewing your plan with the crew before departing to make it easier on yourself. The break light switch reminds me of a Monty Python sketch were an accident prediction feature caused an accident. The premise was a bicyclist wanted his fruit to survive a bicycle accident. The fruit would eject prior to an accident. It worked, the fruit ejected itself from the cyclist’s stomach just before an accident that was caused by the fruit ejecting itself from the cyclist’s stomach. Genius!
All things aside, I appreciate that Jefe had the presence of mind to run the wrecker into the hillside rather than dithering when he had no brakes. The finer points are something you can learn when you're not tumbling to your doom.
Wait, you're going to rescue a vehicle that was killed because it ran out of brakes... and then your vehicle runs out of brakes, isn't that a little creepy..😱😱😱

Collin, my daughter had a phobia of needles. She went through eight rounds of Hypnotherapy, and now there’s not a needle around that scares her. Even the big thick ones for blood work. She’s a true champ getting her needles.
I would recommend hypnotherapy to anybody who has addictions and/or phobias. And I hear a lot of people having success with laser therapy.
I was a student in the previous cohort at the welding school kaulin is attending. Wish him the best with recovery from surgery and getting back into school!
Whoa, what a challenging moment, but luckily an accident was avoided, and the WLOR Wrecker was repaired, a lesson was learned, and the recovery was a success. The icing on the cake Kaulin's surgery went well. Matt's attitude was we'll git 'er done and back on the road even though the thought of lost brakes can be scary was in the back of his mind too. What a day!
Matt has an analytical mind that assesses the problem and then devises a solution. All the while he shoves the distractions and other problems to the background to focus on the task at hand.
This is the first I've heard of the injury to Colin. This is a little behind but prayers being sent for his eventual recovery. Thanks again for all you guys do to entertain us, and occasionally inform us.
I can’t wait to see what you do with that 10x10 spud truck
Love Matt's attitude towards the surgery! That's how my mom and I dealt with my transplant and it made everything easier to handle even if she was a nervous wreck she'd make me laugh!
Matt, your general concern for your co-workers is inspiring. You truly see and value everyone that works along side you.
I feel for Colin! I was in a motorcycle accident when I was 17 and almost lost my leg below the knee. Compound fractures of my tibia and fibula and the skin at the impact point was damaged beyond healing. I had a "cross pedicule flap" which means they grafted a large chunk of skin from my left leg to my right leg. They brought medical students in to see me as I was only the third person to have this surgery back in the 70's. I was in the hospital for 2 months. I took multiple operations over 5 years before I could walk on my own 2 feet. They had put a steel rod through my tibia which I had to have removed 40 years later for a knee replacement (probabaly long term damage to the joint?). WIll keep Colin in my prayers for a speedy recovery from his surgeries.
Matt on trail without his company safety shirt, real emergency!
Shout out to the staff at Primary Children's. They are OUTSTANDING!!!
I've got an old fire truck from 1965. It has a similar break light switch, but it stopped working so I tied a mechanical break light switch to the pedal using cable ties.
A few weeks later I had a helping hand so I could replace the old sensor and bleed the brakes. But the new switch immediately started leaking while bleeding the brakes. So, a tossed it in the trash and put the old broken but trusty one back in. The cable tied mechanical sensor did not let me down yet! Maybe one day i will acctually build a bracket for it... :D
They did a great job of getting the side by side out of that mess. Matt has such a laid back attitude with these problems. Glad no one got hurt when the wrecker lost it's brakes.
Tell me why with all the stuff on that wrecker, that you don't have a tool box on the wrecker, Using pliers to losten a brake line fitting???? Nuts!
Props to you Colin, you've gotta be going through a rough time with all those surguries. Glad to see you doing well and making the best of it! Hope you have a speedy and healthy recovery.
Wow I cannot believe your son nearly lost his leg what a miracle to be able to keep it❤ you must have been beside yourselves oh my God!

Oof. Glad no one got hurt. If the Wrecker ran away down the hill that would have been very bad for sure.
Hooray for Caulin getting thru another surgery.
To think, we all thought the wrecker was your greatest feat. Restoring your sons limb blows away all the amazing projects. I cannot imagine the gut wrenching nights you must have spent worrying about him. The power of God and prayer. "he giveth me strength" Glad he is doing ok, and what a great example as a father by poking some fun with him too. Your strength definitely helped his recovery.
I didn't expect the emotional rollercoaster in this episode. May God bless Kaulin with a quick recovery.
What is up with that hill and brakes going out ?
Wishing Kaulin a speedy recovery for his leg. Thanks for another interesting recovery video.
Jefe doesn’t need to be driving equipment until further training, my wife and I took my HEAVILY modified Suzuki samurai to silverton co. And ran around there and did black bear with no breaks my wife didn’t know until the trip home I mentioned I needed to fix them one day. Low gear and think 2 turns ahead.
I idolize Matt’s ability to stay calm and respectful threw any situation.
No one got hurt and Matt wasn't super pissed. All in all a great rescue, and the guy in the side by side is still here to tell how he rolled 6 times down a hill and barely got a scratch. THATS a story worth telling your grandkids.

Been following this channel for quite a long time and this is the first time I've ever seen Matt not in his company work shirt, just looks odd honestly lol
He’s a big Hawaiian shirt guy
I was wondering why i feel like there is something weird about Matt 😂😂😂
What'd be really weird is seeing him in a T shirt. I don't think Matt owns something that's not a collared button up shirt, the man knows what he likes.
He has definitely worn something other than his work shirts, every so often, he will wear a Hawaiian shirt or plaid. Used to see that a bit more a couple of years back though.
Beat me to it
Poor Matt never gets a break. Keep up the hard work!
We've all had the shitty boss who screams at people for making mistakes. It's pretty amazing to see Matt not being angry about the Wrecker wrecking. Even more amazing that the team felt comfortable calling him even when they know he's going through a lot. Then when Matt was openly talking about being emotionally drained, it blew me away. Real, strong dude, inside and out.
