Ritz was my first memory of entering a video shop renting a tape. Global video in Scotland took over then Blockbuster. Ritz though is a real blast from the past.
I had a Global Video membership. They closed in 2006. Had the membership card in my wallet for about 18 months after they were finished, before someone told me at a Christmas party circa 2007, that they had gone out of business.
Loved going to Ritz in the day.
Have great memories of renting so many great films on VHS.
The video rental store, sadly missed.
Same here!

I remember seeing global somewhere but mostly I saw Ritz when visiting big towns and cities
RV takes me back to generally happier times for sure.
Independent video shops never fail to get my nostalgic juices flowing.😪
@hallgos7319 big enough to be a franchise but small enough to be friendly
We had one Ritz back in the day. Greta share. ❤
My small town had a rack in a Spar
I went into the Ritz once, only to get chucked out with a bloody Mary. Bastards. 😢
😂
Don't recall this. Remember Hollywood video
I remember Hollywood video too but I saw Ritz more

Global was the one I remember, I think they gave you the videos in kind of rigid blue slipcases
I remember Ritz more but had neither near me
@@michaelmyers3709 Yeah that's the one the blue slip case.
I used to rent softcore porn from Global 😅

I don't think I ever rented or bought anything from Ritz... I did from Blockbuster, though ; I remember the takeover well.
I remember seeing Ritz but not sure if I went in one
Where's my comment gone🤬
