The benefit in #2 is also that as users use the tool, they learn where things are on the canvas. As they intuitively know what boxes have what info in them, the labels like "sales" become less important to highlight.
3:15 The depth of the shadow or depending on individual needs, because sometimes too light shadow leads to some people with colour deficiency can not see that there is a box here.
I just happen to come across this video thank you so much. It is extremely well presented and explained. I am very interested in UI/UX and I have zero experience.
Hi, thank your for watching. We know how you feel, we were in your shoes once. The best recommendation would be to enroll in an online course. We created a UI/UX course for people with no prior experience. You can learn more about it at our website www.uxpeak.com :)
I love the video, great stuff, but I do disagree with the shadows as the 1st option is sometimes more pleasing, especially for those with vision problems and so on.
These are great tips uxpeak. I really love it this video. Super straightforward and actionable. Love the animations! The tip about hierarchy is also amazing. Please create more of these!
wow thank goodness for your stunning content i hope you have a wonderful day because this video has made my day its one of the requierments please continue. if its possible please make a play list of those.
Hi Guys, I'm a student, Is there any websites you guys can recommend when it comes to designing? I've been using figma for web design, but i want to try other apps or website that can assist me. Thank you Guys
Great question! Achieving visual hierarchy involves a variety of important factors that work together to guide users' attention and create a clear, easy-to-follow design. Some key elements include using the right font size, ensuring proper balance between graphics and text, and leveraging proportions to make certain elements stand out. There is more about it covered in the UI/UX Playbook.
I disagree with tip 02. The user isn’t looking for the number 591. The user is looking for sales. Sure it’s better once you’ve learned which box is which, but the first several times you use it, you’re not looking for a number, you’re looking for a heading that tells you which number you’re going to find there.
@@jadeskarlet I don't think we are, it's one of the oldest principles of information architecture, and Steve Krug's "Don't Make Me Think" teaches us that when we have to think backwards to decode information, we automatically find it less usable. If the information speaks for itself, then the label is redundant, if the information needs a label, then the label is the first thing a user looks for. Considering the difference between large header/small number and small header/large number makes no difference in the amount of screen real estate, there is no reason to make users think: "591 what is that? Oh, it's sales. How much was that again? Oh, 591."
I think you are wrong. The second example is much better. It provides visual cues and it's much more visually exciting. While the first one is boring. I mean the first one is not wrong but it's not something a senior designer would design.
I believe the one on the right is clearer. The text has hierarchy. When text is all of the same size it signifies to the reader unconsciously that all the text is of equal importance. But when a certain text is bigger than the other text it signifies that the text is of higher importance. As human beings we tend to see things that are bigger to be of higher importance. It has to do with human psychology.
The benefit in #2 is also that as users use the tool, they learn where things are on the canvas. As they intuitively know what boxes have what info in them, the labels like "sales" become less important to highlight.
Exactly! That is a great point
3:15 The depth of the shadow or depending on individual needs, because sometimes too light shadow leads to some people with colour deficiency can not see that there is a box here.
Absolutely :) That's a great comment!

For the last tip - creating visual harmony, how do I know if the design is “harmonized”?

I thought I was the only one who thought like this

I'm not agree with your shadow and The UI/UX Playbook.
Your thumb down are bettern and your thum up is worse at my enviroment.
I disagree with the first advice. The option on the left is clearer, there is order in it, but the option on the right looks like a mess
