Wow! KSA. This album to some extent defined my childhood and the connection with my parents while growing up in Warri. Although we are not Yoruba, my father loved juju music and this album was the second album he ever bought. His first was Obey - the man, the horse..., or so. Can't remember vividly. I am talking of the early 70s. We had our first gramophone, a Philip product. And we seemingly enjoyed our juju music...endless blast of joy. I literally knew all the lyrics in this classic KSA album back in the days as a child. Today, when I hear these songs I feel nostalgic, and reminisce the good old Nigeria of tremendous bliss and happiness. God bless KSA and long live Juju music.
Omonigho Johnson, We are all related...cousins...Edo...Itsekiri....Igala...Nupe....Junkun...Igbo...Hausa... etc etc. We all belong to.the niger- benue linguistic family......Even the Bantu....originated from here and spread through to the congo...Congo... South Africa.
Bruh, You couldn't be more on point. Any time I listen to KSA I remember my late Dad and those lovely Saturday mornings when we all danced in our living room to KSA on our Kenwood 12" LP.... My GOD!!! those were wonderful days
Thank Thee ALMIGHTY GOD For His Everlasting Mercies endures with us forever Halleluyahhhhhhh AMEN!!! Listening to this evergreen music at this period December 2023, I remember rocking with the beautiful song in the 70s Thank You LORD !
This was the high point of KSA’s confidence as a man and artist - awa ti b’egun ja, a segun egungun… Since then he has not looked back. Very few belong in this class. Legendary!
Pulsating rhythm, talking drum spewing proverbs, lyrics rich in pure Yoruba language and pregnant with meaning. Quintessential Sunny Ade. Those were the days...
This started out as a punishment and then the Love of Juju Music began, we were spoilt rotten, Obey, Adekunle, even Orlando Owoh etc. This is "EVERGREEN", nostalgia grips me when i hear this. If God gives me good life, i shall retire to music.
Thank God I finally came across this song, i fell in love with this song at the age 10, and had been searching for it for a long time. Yeiiiiii, i finally got it. Thanks!!!
My youthful days listening pleasure courtesy of my lost and found brother who grew up in Lagos. Always looking forward to his coming home on Christmas seasons with d latest from d king sunny Ade staples. This one was my best. Cool and lovely!
Sunny Ade and Fela Kuti were the 2 African musicians included in the list of great musicians of the last millennium. Sunny Ade never studied music like Fela, but his scores are being written music. A great philosopher
I wore my grandfather's 8-track cassette out driving him around in his Opel Record. I was always glad to drive him to anywhere he was going as long as I can take the car when he does not have engagements. #RIP Ajie
Your grandfather must be agba man of his generation with a fancy Opel foreign car. My father, Honorable Alarape Lawal, a Member of Parliament in pre independence Nigeria, rode an Opel in the early 50s NCNC Adegoke Adelabu Penkelemesi era.
King Sunny Ade we thank God that are still alife to listen to this full of sense it shows that KSA as being in Christ right from the beginning of his life.
Nothing in this song here shows Christ in the life of Sunny Ade. This track Ęṣubiri is just addressing Sunny’s powerless enemies who were trying to harm him. The song was rendered in pure Yoruba proverbs, àyájọ́ and àdúrà, not the type of Christian prayers. He even said his enemies fondly carried fake bible as if they were pure and holy- they were evil.
One of the many excellent tracks from KSA but sad that Awodi Jeun Epe San'ra of your ilk keep infringing on and pirating KSA's intellectual properties and copyright in order to make money through UA-cam. Well, I have bad news for you. Ewe Ata ki K'ata ni Oro gbogbo yin. Bi e se nse ki Owo adanu ba KSA and others like him ni iwo ati awon iyoku bi ti e, na ma se Owo Adanu. Go and create your own original and intellectual content if you want Alubarika.

They don’t call him King for no reason.

Notably, King of Juju music. A talented man.
