It's been on the car a while now, still working ok, and hasn't drained the battery.
is there any parasitic drain? surely the unit itself drains the battery? thinking maybe attaching a croc clip on one of the terminals so that I can unplug the unit when not needed.
Waste of money! I bought three of these BM2 Battery Voltage Monitors so that I can check on my batteries of my stored/parked vehicles as well as my daily driver in my garage and driveway and I wanted to be able to check them while sitting in my home. The range is about 12 feet as I have to be at my front door to get a signal. This is typical of Bluetooth devices where they state 10 meters or 33 feet but in unobstructed view, but not under a hood shrouded in metal. If I need to be that close to a vehicle, I might as well pop the hood and take a DMM meter to the battery.
I fitted one of these last month.
Does my head in how power hungry the 2010 L322 is.
Great product. I like to see my AGM charge at no less than 90% 12.5v 👌🏻
They're super useful, have had one on for about 2 years and it's really useful for seeing when there's drain happening. I ended up fitting one to the second/leisure battery too, for some peace of mind when camping.
Hey, Ben. How's the Hobbitt doing? Hope you're ok, surviving living in France. I guess the more gadgets the better, eh. I've heard "old timers" say that a battery gets sick in July and dies in December.
Hobbit is sort of ok, she’s struggling with her weight, down to 47kg. Dr has prescribed protein shakes and yoghurts, and she’s booked in to see a heart doctor. Hoping it’s just side effects of treatment and drugs.
Whats the range like on this? as i have a p38 that doesnt get used that much so i can monitor it and go fire it up if it goes down a bit. Ideally check it from sat in the front room haha.
It says up to 30m, but I've not tested it's range capabilities.
Hi Ben what varta battery have you got fitted? I have an 06 4.4 petrol - do I need an agm battery or is this only necessary on post 09 cars?
Fit what it came with - non-AGM on a
@adzy166 only necessary on post 2009, earlier version had different electrics and charging. Our old 2002 TD6 had the older lead acid type battery.
