Appreciate the view. I know it’s been forever but eventually I will have updated videos. The Navy keeps me busy. Editing takes longer than the jobs sometimes.
Thanks so much for the view. Trying to get some videos edited on the Datsun but it takes time and work and a long family vacation just got in the way a bit.
You are my 500th subscriber! Thanks so much! Appreciated! I’ll mention you on my upcoming road trip video to the Grand Canyon! After editing, I think it will be video 8 in my road trip videos. Thanks again! More Datsun stuff coming, editing takes time for me as I’m new.
Mine too! Wish I could’ve found my original but honestly it would’ve been way worse. I put it through hell in the 90’s there’s no telling what it looks like now - if it hasn’t been crushed that is.
Thanks I was reading forums on Ratsun and someone there posted a 620 with those wheels so I ordered them. I think they look awesome. Maybe some white walls when it’s done.
Hell yes dude. I’m kit sure if it will stay green though. I like the patina shop truck look but it’s my kids pickup, so she can paint it pink if that’s what she wants.
It’s coming I swear. It’s taken quite a bit of time. Navy keeps me busier than I would like. The work takes time and editing takes time. But it’s coming along nicely.
Im super glad you rescue that 620, I was little afraid that got scrap, im gotta stick close to see the proces of repair, something I like about those 620 is the wiring harness are really easy to work on as well finding schematics, just make sure to hook up really well grounds, Nissan are really sensive to grounds, and finnally, Did you know those 520, 620 and 720 share a lot of parts with the Nissan Junior, they are kinda twins in a wierd way, still hope for the best and greetings from Costa Rica!
Thanks so much for the view! I did some time in Central America in your country as well as El Salvador and Panama. I remember San Jose, amazing people and we were lucky enough to be there for the Ox Cart Parade.
It hit Facebook Marketplace for $1000 and I instantly messaged and went to look at it. Told Puddin’ I’d have to do some soul searching and he shot me an offer back saying $750 and it’s yours.
He was awesome to deal with. Didn’t know where I knew him from, turns out it was UA-cam. He told me about his channel and that’s when I figured “man, I’ve been watching your videos!”
Cool man i wish to do this for my daughter some day! Keep the datsuns on the rode. I have a 84 4x4 here where im from we keep datsuns close to our hearts!!
Yeah I found out through a comment I was way off on the mileage. It has to have turned at least once. No matter, it’s gonna be nice a new soon! Thanks for the view!
The truck is probably a '74 1/2. My first daily was a '73 620! Awesome little trucks and they run forever once you get them running! Edit: Also! When buying parts AVOID TIAWAN made stuff!! All of their panels are an 1/8th inch to small all the way around!!
@@SideGigSquid if your near the south end of Washington, i have some spare doors and a fender... I think 😂. There are also a ton of Facebook groups for datsuns. "Datsun Parts and Needs" and "Datsun 620 Owners" are a must to be in!
@@budgetbuilt8838 The truck that really turns me on is the 521 series Datsun trucks. Now those were really beautiful looking trucks! Loved the 620 series to, however wouldn't mind gettin a 71 or 72 1/2 521 series Datsun truck before the body style changed in 1972 1/2 620 series.
I got it from Puddin’ for $750. The prices are really hit or miss with supply and demand as well as condition. In California your value goes up exponentially.
Love these trucks, however to be honest, their bodies simply never held up. After a couple years, especally if you lived in the northern United States, because they use road salts in the winter time, they never made it past two years of use, they were shot.
The one I had when I was a teenager was in Northern California. It was in rough shape but ran well. I didn’t know how to fix things then as got rid of it. This one here needs some love but we are finishing the frame and it should now last longer than me at this point.
@@SideGigSquid Best thing to do is this. Now here ya go, you have a little truck like this that's a survivor, it's in a little rough shape here, yet, workable. Get the floor boards welded up approprately, then if you can, get either a couple quarts of black rust olem paint or gallon, whichever, thin it down and spray paint the underside of this truck's chassis and frame, floorboards, underside of the bed, etc. Then, work your way upward and give attention to the areas that need reworked appropriately such as any small areas of body holes etc. Once all done, get her all sanded down, primed and painted approprately. Then, get a good paint on bed liner to paint that bed down after you've scratched it down for adhesion purposes, and paint several coats of bedliner on it. The interior can either stay the same, or you can work on that in later issues, depending. Doesn't hurt to keep a good coat of black paint on that frame and chassis to keep things in check, and with proper oil and oil filter changes, air filter and gas filter changes, this little girl will last you forever and ever, aman.
So cool if I ever have kids I hope to be a cool dad like you. But if it was me I would clear coat that paint. It took Mother Nature 55 years to make it look that good.
dad's a winner, got some good taste

Like the wheels on the truck. Just need some trim rings.
Thanks a bunch. We actually got those too but they won’t go in until she’s finished.
nice to see it as a 4x4
Yes it would but I am going to keep it 2 wheel drive, low and slow. More videos coming, projects take time as does editing.
@@SideGigSquid 4x4 to work for a lot folks. Low MFG.
What a great dad!
Thanks for the view!
Don’t lower the truck, looks soooo good original!
I don’t think we are going to she likes it the way it is.
Great to see a Datsun enthusiast and puts her heart into a 620 to make it come back to life. Also a SR20 engine would be nice in it.
Thanks for the view and stay tuned there is more videos on the way. We got the engine and dash out so far.
L620 B engines were what were in them from the factory.
Very nice gift amigo!
Thanks very much for the view! More videos coming as soon as I’m out of the Navy!
Looks like you got a deal, and it's a Goodin' chances are you dealt wit Puddin! :)
Yeah I can’t wait to drive it over and show him what we’ve done.
That odometer reads 6822. It’s a 5 digit odometer and likely rolled once or twice.
Huh I was kind of thinking that at first m guessing the last digit is 9/10 of a mile. Thanks for the heads up!
awesome looking truck mate
It should be sweet when it’s done. Thanks for the view.
Quería ver cómo quedó la comioneta
It’s still in work we are having time issues but we have more videos in editing.
Navy? Oklahoma? Tacamo?
That’s the rumor if you have a need to know lol

Yes sir! Not sure what she’s gonna name it yet! Can’t wait to get some uploads on her!
Those Chevrolet Rally rims look good on just about every vehicle. That's a cool little truck, can't wait to see it progress even further.
La,tienes a la venta?
No sorry it will not be for sale. She likes it too much.
This is so cool 😎 I will be following the build. Please post videos of the build as the Daddy Daughter teem works on it.
Thanks for the view and yes more videos are coming. Just takes time with editing, work and our 30 day road trip vacation.
lol i recognized the truck from puddins park it and market
That’s a fact. He’s been real good to us. Hopefully we do it justice.
ayy I saw that was Puddin's truck from the thumbnail. Cool to see another youtuber grab it up
Ha! Thanks for the kind words! My channel is no where near Puddin’s, but once I retire form the Navy I’ll have more time to invest in it.
@@SideGigSquid hey even Puddin didn't get that big/good right away, good things take time. Best of luck in the Navy, and thanks for your service 💜
How did the repair go?
It’s still going. Between Navy deployments, a move and retiring I’m hoping to get it finished this summer.
Nice choice on the wheels :)

that's 6800 miles, the last number is tenths. So it might be 106,800 or 206,800. Back then they only had 5 digit odometers.
Yeah I’m an idiot. I should have know right off the tip. No worries
Glad to see you are saving this truck. I am bringing a 79 620 back to life right now.
Very cool checked out your videos it’s awesome to have a community where we can watch and learn from each other.

It will be a while before I have more content to put up. I’m estimating about 2 months. But then I’ll have a lot.
Been watching this on Puddins. Im a old Mini trucker this truck is a great find.
Thanks man can’t wait to get some videos uploaded on her.
I have a '74 620, has drum brakes all around and kingpins on the front. I got a disk/ball joint conversion kit.

Put a 305 Chevy V8 in it, there is a lot of room under the hood.
We have the engine out and are talking about conversions. Most likely a KA24 or keeping the original. Still not sure.
