We seen how many people complain how you must be strong in the force to be a great Jedi. This story was to establish how you don't need to be strong in the force to be a great Jedi.
Zayne was strong in the Force it just that his abilities manifested as a bizarre form of luck that was at once good and bad, as Zayne himself once put it ''the Force doesn't want me dead, it doesn't want me happy either'' also Lucien Draay was a bad teacher. One of Luke's students a kid named Uldir Lochett had the same ability and might have been a descendent of Zayne.

I just realized assassin's Creed and star wars have a very similar ideals, neither of the sides a good just different ideals clashing causing unnecessary loss of life. Just one is portrayed worse than the other.
The sad thing is that the Covenant wanted tae wait for Zayne to return before they slaughtered the padawans. The reason they had to jump straight to the murder was that the Padawans figured out something was wrong, because they knew there was no way Zayne could be knighted. They had no faith in him whatsoever. Those were his friends and classmates, and what saved Zayne was that they saw him as a failure. And yes, The Masters told him.
To be truthful, the Jedi covenant misinterpreted the vision they had as if you read and view it again with thoughtfulness you can see that it was a potential fate that would have befallen the covenant had they no lingered fear the with as much as they had and not had been to fanatical and pious towards their Jedi teachings then they would have lived and all that death would have been prevented. But due to their failure of twisting the Force’s will with their own views on it they and the Jedi would not believe in prophecies like Anakin’s destiny in bringing true balance to the force like destroying or changing the Jedi and Sith orders for the betterment of the Galaxy.

Almost all of these Jedi doing bad stuff got writen after the Knights of the Old Republic game, the game sort of inspire people to make the Jedi not as good. Eventually people were just adding more negative stuff then good. Like for almost forever they were good guys till they strated to added all the negative stuff to them as a way of subversion.
The Jedi Covenant suffered an ironic fate. They literally died as they had foreseen.... while trying to prevent their deaths. Looks like they pulled a DOUBLE Anakin! Killed padawans AND failed to stop their visions by trying to stop their visions.
