Will this work if I have a plastic bedliner?
do you have to use velcro, with topper?
Does the adhesive promoter damage the plastic or bed liner? Leaving marks?
The promoter doesn't damage the spray in liner, it adds a layer that the 3M adhesive can stick to. Hope that helps!
I thought it wouldn’t fit if you have a spray in liner ? That’s what bed rug says anyway.
Ok, So if i have a tailgate cap on my truck? Do I use the adhesive promoter on the tailgate cap after cleaning with alcohol? ( Painted bed only just have the tailgate cap.)
If the velcro on the end of the BedRug would contact a plastic surface like a tailgate cap, we suggest using the adhesive promoter. If it would contact paint, we suggest not use the promoter. The adhesive on the tape is formulated to bond to automotive paint. In order for it to bond to plastic properly, the plastic must first be prepped with the included adhesive promoter. Doesn't look like anyone actually monitors the video comments here but here goes anyway..... What is the minimum temperature you can install this?
The 3m adhesive promotere says installation temperature between 60-80F, and the bedrug install paper says 68 or higher for the hook and loop strips.

@RealTruck.com can you install one of these along WITH a retractable tonneau cover or will the tailgate piece interfere with closing/securing everything properly?
Excellent question! Ultimately it depends on what retractable cover you have but you can usually either adjust the cover forward to compensate for rear seal interference with the BedRug, or you can install the tailgate piece lower to adjust for the seal on the cover. Many applications don't need any adjustment from either product. Hope that helps!
