The nice thing about the Bed Rug design is that the jam between the bed and tailgate is covered so whatever your hauling doesn't fall into it. Nothing worse than stone and dirt dropping in there and then having to close the tailgate to get it to fall out, as it scratches your paint. A bed rug in a must have for my new Maverick, too.
You've got me sold on this. I wanted the spray-in liner but this would be even better. Going to have a bed cap on mine so moisture won't be an issue. Thanks for a great channel.
Lay it out on a hot sunny day so it will lay flat. then lay it in and mark for the 2 front floor tiedowns. Cut out using snips enlarging a little at a time to have the smallest cutouts. Hook & loop strips need to support the tailgate section, so put an unequal # on the top. For vertical support, don't use 7x7 but 9x5 pieces of fasteners. Work during a sunny & preferably hot day to get it to lay flat. Mine turned out great.
My previous Silverado, purchased used, came with a BedRug. Great product. Made crawling around in the bed a pleasure. But, I had to keep a tarp over it all the time. Sticks and bits of leaves can hook into the rug making it difficult to clean. Pine needles from Christmas trees were brutal to clean out. I won’t get one in my new Maverick. But I WILL miss it in some respects.

My bed rug has the slits cut in for the d-rings already. Worth checking out.
Mine had them as well. But I ended up putting some holes in the rug where the bolt holes were. Then I put the d-rings over top.

To be fair, this impact mat version has less of that issue because it's more like a rubber mat versus a carpet. But I get what you mean.
is it ok to cut out the hole for those hook???
Why can’t you unscrew bed tie down hooks and rescrew thru bed rug?
Thx for that great info can I ask you which Tonneau cover you have as it fits snug up against the front and seemingly allows for max space
Is it breathable?
I hope you realize just how lucky you were to find one AND get it at sticker price.
Oh yes, we're very aware. So sad Ford can't commit to making more of these. They're losing lifelong customers by sending them to other brands.
What I'm concerned about is if the rain water will get under the rug. Guess you have to take it out every once in a while to let it dry out
Good point, I should check it out. We usually have the top on, but I did power wash the rug once.
Seems like it's cheaper to go with the Ford bedmat and tailgate liner.
