    Irina, as a natural born Jamaican man, I am convinced you were a Jamaican in your past life.🇯🇲🇯🇲. Your spirit is that of a Jamaican it shows in all of your videos. You said in your first video that you searched the world for a country to move to. You decided on Jamaica. As far as I'm concerned it was Jamaica that called you back home. Welcomed back home my Jamaican SISTA 🇯🇲🇯🇲😎

    Such a GREAT explanation about Weed / Ganja. I have lost count of how many times it was "assumed" that I smoke it as a Jamaican living in America; and most believe I am "lying" when I said that I don't, and never have.
    But I also get many of my weed smoking American Friends "thinking" that it was easily obtained when they travel to Jamaica (before the Law was established in 2015).

    I enjoy drinking the ganga juice more than smoking it when I visit Jamaica. The effect lasts longer and you don't damage your lungs. But be careful, it creeps up on you like vodka, so don't over consume because you will feel nothing while you are drinking it, but within a half an hour to an hour later, it will hit you like a ton of bricks. If you have to drive, please have a designated driver because your depth perception will be impaired and you will be as paranoid af. I always use when I'm home for the rest of the day.

    • @trevorsteer7331
      @trevorsteer7331 3 роки тому +3

      I never heard of "ganja juice"...is that like ganja tea?

    • @AstrospiritualAtheist
      @AstrospiritualAtheist 3 роки тому +5

      @@trevorsteer7331I never heard of it either until a few years ago when I visited Jamaica. It's more than ganja tea I can tell you though. It has a fermented look and taste to it. The herbal vendors make it. Idk if they extract it from a particular part of the plant or infuse particular parts of the plant in water or what, but it's 100 times more potent than if you boil the tea at home.
      It was my herbalist neighbor who introduced me to it. I never really asked him how he made it, but now that you mentioned it, you got me curious too, so I'll ask him when I go back. He sells the quart bottles for $3, 000 and he also has the flasks, but I forgot how much those cost. He Also has the ganga oil which turns into a semi gel form when you mix it into water, or other liquids, and you almost have to eat it like jello. The oil is even way more potent than the juice, and it just takes a small amount to get you there. He sells the oil in smaller bottles than the juice, and its very concentrated.
      Many veteran ganga smokes I know out there won't touch any form of the liquid products simply because they cannot handle the potency. My advice to you though, is that if you ever try it, make sure you do it at home and you're not going out for the rest of the day, preferably late evening, or at night, close to bedtime. If you use it while out you might act strangely and people will notice. The paranoia effect you get from it is no joke. You will feel everyone is out to get you and it will show.
      It's very easy to over consume because it has a delayed effect, and you might end up drinking most of the bottle trying to feel that buzz and not getting it. You're going to get pissed thinking you got ripped off because you drank so much and not feel a thing. Don't do that. Just drink a few ounces, be patient, relax and wait for it.

    lol the first time i saw a flying roach i was like O.o and frightened...there are some that for some reason that if you don't clean your building good they are there and others will only stay outside in the open and blended with the surrounding like rocks which you even more hardly see (like different breeds)
    there is also sparkling cran wata
    when looking for Jamaican craft i always look to see if i can find the makers...ik like in St. Elizabeth there are number of persons who do craft locally...some people do straw products, others tin, others wood...etc. ...one person that has created a company that company name is callaloo down by Treasure Beach...there is also a website to help find some Jamaican made goods and this is it shoppinginja.com/#/

      Hm, I've never seen mushrooms in Jamaica, either used or sold by any locals. However, you're right, psilocybin mushrooms have never been made illegal in Jamaica and it seems that's because the Government doesn't actually know about their existence and locals don't use them either. I actually had to Google to give you this answer, because I've never heard of mushrooms in Jamaica. According to Google, one of the American companies wants to open a production here for medicinal purposes, but currently - nobody produces them. Looks like some mushrooms get imported for tourists in the resorts, but I can't see any prices and don't even know who to ask about them 🤔

    Another great video, Irina, with the usual high standards of tips and information. I never knew there were smoking houses for ganga users on the island... Guess not been a ganga user, I had no reason to know. Wow... I'm surprised. I learn something new everytime I watch one of your videos.

I am from St. Ann, but Negril is a MUST VISIT for me every time I go back home...usually a 2-3 nights there...the places on the Beach are so AWESOME at night, which is when I usually get "eaten" standing in the sand...now I know why...LOL

    what's a good place to go snorkeling, scuba diving, horse back riding etc? (hopefully not tourists areas)

    • @JAMAICAWITHIRIE
      @JAMAICAWITHIRIE  3 роки тому +2

      Horse Riding - all touristic, since it's a tourist activity (locals don't do horse riding as such). The best place for Horse Riding is Braco stables, that is if you're somewhere between Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. Alternatively Half Moon Stables in Montego Bay. Not sure about other places.
      As for diving and snorkeling - I will have separate videos covering these topics on the channel, since there is a lot to share! Please stay tuned!

    Thank you Irina for another fun, fact-filled video on Jamaica! I certainly learned a lot. For example, I wasn't aware that you can now smoke weed in JA - things have certainly changed since my childhood!
    1. As you mentioned, I think most Jamaicans are afraid of insects and other crawling creatures. It was observed that my grandmother had a strange habit of always walking in the middle of the roads and avenues after migrating to NY. When we asked the reason for this strange habit, she replied that she didn't trust the squirrels. In her mind, they were plotting to jump on her from the trees and then crawl all over her if she ever walked on the sidewalks. We laughed ourselves silly, but this was no laughing matter to her. Squirrels, as all other creeping, crawling creatures, could NOT be trusted!
    2. After childhood and college in NY, I decided to move to Florida where I shared a small apartment with a Jamaican high school friend. One night we were in the living room watching TV when lo and behold, a BIG, BOLD, threatening looking lizard crawled out from behind a piece of furniture, positioned itself on the wall right above the TV...and horror of horrors...proceeded to change from one color to the next!!! I nearly jumped out of my skin and turned pale with terror! The two of us (including the cat!), bolted out of the apartment and could not be induced to re-enter it until a friend of ours drove over to exorcise that vicious lizard out of the living room and apartment. The next day while walking an iguana fell out of a tree, right onto my head. I packed up and left Florida a few days after and have never lived in another tropical territory since.
    3. When I started college in the U.S., everyone assumed that I must have smoked weed and knew how to roll a joint because I was Jamaican. I told them that the first time I even saw or smelled marijuana was as an adult in college in the US, but they all thought I was exaggerating. No, I was not! Then when one of my marijuana-loving friends took it into his head to vacation in Jamaica - I spent several days, passionately warning him NOT to buy or smoke weed during his visit there. This was before this law passed that Irina mentioned, when at the time you were fined and jailed for possession, especially as an American tourist.

    🇯🇲 Thanks again Irie. For so long the Rastafarian population have been penalized & marginalized.
    They were not the pioneers, but were major advocates of : brotherly-love, African unity & repatriation & ganja/marijuana.
    Don't be misinformed, it was the Rastafarians who invented & disseminated reggae worldwide.
    Today in Jamaica, I hope the various Rastafarian communities are pooling their resources to build major ganja conglomerate Jamaican brand.

    I just loved your 2 videos - Part 1 and Part 2 . I am coming to Jamaica, for the first time on March 26th until April 18th. I am wondering where your Air Bnb is. I am doing one week at Bashia Principe in Runaway Bay. Was planning to do Negril and maybe Ochos Rios, I plan to stay at Air bnb for 15 nights of my stay in Jamiaca. Can you suggest an afforable Air bnb on seven mile beach in Negril, where I can walk to a market to buy food? Fran from canada
