    Tried to download the files for my Mono X2. Tried two different flash drives. And made sure I was using the correct files for the Mono X2, but whenever I tried to print the first needed files its an error. The other two downloaded but not the first one needed. Any advice on how to fix?

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 місяці тому

      Normally, two files are needed to finish the update. Since you have a newer machine, the file names will most likely be different. On most machines, one file updates the motherboard while the second file updates the screen display. It sounds like the update might have already been successful. If not you can try restarting the machine with the USB stick still plugged in which can force an update. If you restart the machine, leave for a while since it can sometimes take longer to complete. After that, you can try printing something to test it out.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 роки тому +1

      If you've updated your machine's firmware to the current one, then it'll be compatible with the latest version of Chitubox. I personally didn't need to change my settings all that much, but I had already adjusted the strength of the UV light. Once everything *is fully updated*, then you'll reboot your system.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 роки тому +1

      Each of the machines is slightly different as well as each batch of resin, therefore it's hard to provide an exact setting for any particular machine. Most of the manufacturer settings are a good starting point, but will need to be tweaked slightly.

      I'll need some more information as to what issues you're actually having with your prints. If your previous slicer settings art not working correctly, you may have to adjust the UV settings on the machine. Some users have reported that this was their issue. ***However, I would like to know if you updated your machine with all three files or just the one. Only two of the files will work correctly, and they must be updated together, otherwise you'll run into issues. You also MUST restart your machine after the updates.***

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  Рік тому +1

      A common issue is installing the incorrect version. The one in this video was the 4k, but they've since come out with the 6k and newer model. I'd double-check to make sure you have the correct version on the USB stick. You'll then turn off the machine and restart it with those files on it, and in most cases it should simply update. This fix has worked for quite a few people in the past and should help resolve the issue.

    Hi! Im having an issue on initial install. I went to "level" and z=0 the machine when i first turned it on but when i hit home on "Move Z" it just hits the vat plate/glass and the stepper motor just wants to keep going if I dont stop it. Any ideas if you can factory reset the unit? I put in a ticket to their support team but not sure if you had an idea as to why its going to far down or how to try and do that over. I tried to re zero it but when i hit home it doesnt stop going down and when I try to it says "Home first, then Z=0"...

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 роки тому

      The Z=0 only sets up height for when the print starts, and not where the build plate should start from the homing position. I would re-level and ignore the Z=0. While it should have some pressure, it shouldn't continuously do so. Try rebooting the machine, since in some cases it can fix many of the update issues. You can always flash the older firmware for the machine, which I believe they might still have on their website or on the USB stick that came with it. Hope this helps.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 роки тому

      While it's theoretically possible, they haven't released the source code for that machine or a kit specifically for that purpose. So you'd have to recompile the firmware and create some mods to make them compatible. The sprite extruder uses a custom connector to the hot end assembly, which you'll need to circumvent.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  Рік тому

      Depending on what you downloaded, there are multiple versions of this machine that were released with a similar name, all of which have their own version of the firmware. In the example that was mentioned in the video, there were two firmware versions, but only one will work. If it isn't installing, it's most likely not the correct version of the firmware. You can check which version you have using one of two methods. You can check the machine info through the menu options or take a look at the motherboard and compare this information with the firmware. The machine that was in this video was discontinued several months ago, so if you have a newer machine, it's mostly likely using a different type of firmware.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  Рік тому

      Although it's fairly rare, it could also be the USB stick that's faulty or a corrupted file. Although I've rarely come across this issue, it has cropped up for other's. This is especially the case depending on the brand.

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  2 роки тому

      That does seem to be unusual, so you may have to revert to an earlier version of the firmware if that's the case. While I did notice that the print times have increased slightly, it shouldn't be triple the original time. One thing that's very important is, is once you've fully completed the update, you should *restart the machine*. This does tend to fix some of the most common issues.

    What would cause delamination after initial burn in layers at first transition layers...keeps eating my fep and wasting countless resin. I've done every process I can think of from releveling to adjusting different exposures to lift times etc. Always the first few normal layers shift across the entire vat. But continues to print layers onto after that. Is this a firmware issue or what I'm so lost and ready to lose my mind over this
    Any help would be greatly appreciated..I have mono x 6k

    • @Yarkspiri
      @Yarkspiri  Рік тому +1

      Let's do a simple test to find out if it's an issue with the firmware. Take out your vat and put it aside for now. Place a normal sheet of paper on top of the screen and start the print. You're looking to see if the layer's shift in the actual file, rather than afterwards. If the file is the problem, bring your sliced file into the Anycubic file validator and check it layer by layer. Do so in your slicer as well to make sure it isn't the slicing software. You may need to temporarily use another slicer to double-check this.
      Once you're able to see where the issue is coming from, you should be better able to address it. So if it's appearing on the printing screen but not in the different slicer's then it could be an issue with your USB card or cable. If it's in the slicer, then the file may from some non-manifold edges or geometry that's confusing the slicer and may have to be fixed first. Meshmixer or blender can help fix issues with the mesh.
      If it is none of those, let me know, and we'll go through the next set of troubleshooting steps.
