Comment below how you would of handled this situation, as we'd love to hear what you all think.

That guy is a lier! At first he said it never left his possession then later in the convo he said it went to 2 other people. The customer service and what you’re willing to do here is amazing but you should tell the guy to pound salt.
You’re an incredible businessman and a gentleman for even entertaining that call. He even said the watches switched hands !!! It’s a double whammy and you’re still willing to work- no one does that. Kudos to you. When I move up from my Casio - you’re my guy 😂
He entertained the call because he can make money from buying it back
@Xavier Echevarria are you basque?
Casio ? i have a Timex ironman.. What an elitist you are !!!

No Im from Puerto Rico but in the late 1800s my family came from Spain so it’s possible I have some ancestors who are.
The caller is 1 gutsy dude to even ask Marco to make good on an obvious scam perpetrated on the caller.
The fact I know nothing about watches and have been watching this channel is opening up something I thought I thought I'd never like.
Very fair and correct. You have gone the extra mile to help as far as you can. Good business and should keep the client. He has a better deal than he would get anywhere else.
You handled that situation in what I thought was a very professional & respectful way. I've only just come across your channel & I have now subscribed. You guy's seem to be the type of dealer I'd like to use if I had the money for some of these top end watches. 👍
Now that you’ve found yourself here you need to think about what you can do to put yourself in the situation to be able to buy these luxury watches. It’s crazy that some people can just walk in somewhere and spend 25-250k on a watch. Sometimes multiple times a year. I watched a kid, a freaking 17 year old kid Venmo; or whatever service he used, someone 265k for a watch the other day. And then the dealer said “always a pleasure to do business with you”, and the kid said, “this is why I only buy watches with you”. Which made it obvious this child has been buying watches like that frequently. Insane. If a 17 year old kid can do it anyone can. Lol
I would start taking a photo of the paperwork and the watch together when the watch changes hands so there can never be a scam pulled on you for a big ticket item like a solid gold Daytona that I would love to have one day just got to win the lottery first
Incredibly more fair than I expected. Well done, Marco.
Bro - I applaude your patience here! You must have a good relationship with this guy.
Sold in October 2019 we are in November 2021 it's only been 2 years. That being said the buyer isn't being honest about what really happened. I just bought a $600 tissot and I checked everything on the watch to make sure everything matched, no way this guy didn't do the same on a $11k watch.
I have bought and sold watches for more than 11k and have not really checked it out, will not happen anymore, when buying and selling, I am logging everything
Where in the video did he say it was sold in October? Pending on the date, it can very well be about 3 years,,
@@houseaccount3293 12:11
yeah he even said at the start of the call he didnt look at it admitting fault lol, scammer
If it was a $30,000 car that had sold 2 more times, what do you think the chances are of the original dealer assuming ANY responsibility when the possession of the car not only left the original purchaser but also the 2nd buyer? I find it hard to believe it took 3 buyers before somebody checked a serial number, especially if he sold it to another dealer, wouldn't a dealer check it every time before paying. I can't believe a customer would even think what he was asking for was reasonable. If you take something back to a store, and the store has raised it's price, they never give you the higher price. He should be happy he has a return on his investment and move on.
if i bought a havana 68 years ago and smoked it 15 years ago and it tasted stale can i sue Cuba for the seventeen cents it cost ?
@@carmineredd1198 yes. Plus $300 million for emotional distress & punitive damages. 😁
I've been working with customer support for many years and the way this guy is handling it is exactly how I would've acted.
2 parties down the line?? 3 years ago? Kick rocks scammer!!!!
lol totally agree, he didn't check the papers matched before he sold it?! he's crazy or a scammer.
Handled perfectly. In all honesty, after a year I would personally not have entertained the story, even more so after finding it changed hands more then once. I respect your drive folks!
Marco, do you keep record of all serial numbers in inventory? If yes, it’s easy to check both serial numbers (watch/papers). Easy to spot whether the mistake is made on your end. And easy to correct it. You handled correctly, it’s not your responsibility anymore, but can’t hurt to check it out ( if recorded) . If the mistake was made on your end your helping out the other customer as well.
Marco......your bang on the money with customer service. What that customer decided to do after he purchased the watch from you is completely his responsibility. To offer to buy it back as a new transaction is very honourable I think. I’m looking forward to when you start analysing watches with your microscope. Is Rolex the most copied watch in the market? Thanks from the UK.
Damn Marco I’m new to the watch game and even this guy sounds to me like a scammer 😂 you handled this well broski💪🏽🔒
you handled this like the professional that you are! others would have told him to pound sand..
Honestly, you did your part Marco. No one in their right mind should be coming back to you 2 or 3 years later for a refund on a watch that has exchanged hands a couple times after you sold it to the original owner and complain about missing paper or incorrect papers. That is not your problem anymore as the guy at the end said. You offered him a fair settlement (i.e. you'll buy the watch back at current market price, provided it comes back in the same condition after inspection, correct papers and original receipt of purchase)
If he didn't sell the watch multiple times, he is owed a market value for the papers or perhaps pay for the watch to be sent to RSC for new papers. Otherwise, in this case, I would give nothing back because what's to say the real papers were not swapped out by one of the parties in the trades involving that watch...
Common sense. This guy is pathetic for trying to get them to pay the difference
Depending on the client returns I would say it’s not our responsibility anymore. If it’s a returning/ frequent customer I would definitely help him out, but between us. In this situation I wouldn’t help him nor would I offer him a deal. It should come from him to sell the watch. I think he was just calling your bluff and he won.
remember this is a tv show as well in a sense and good marketing.... Normally if it wasnt filmed it would be hard pass
Who doesn't check the paperwork and watch when you buy a watch? It's easy to check the serial number ? You played this correct.
3 years and the watch switched hands... no dice. Sounds like the guys three deals down were trying to scam your old customer. Trust half of what you see and none of what you hear.
These refund/scam videos are hitters.🔥🔥🔥
Definitely sounds like a double dip scam. The actual watch will always prove to be genuine Submariner Rolex - with or without papers it will still fetch market value to a knowledgeable buyer. I'll bet you did supply the correct paperwork with the watch but with the on sell the watch will then be high end reproduced and matched with duplicated paperwork and sold to unsuspecting people many times over.
Yes that’s exactly what he is doing.
100% sob story scam. This is a vulnerability that any business that values it’s reputation has.
It took this guy nearly three years to come back,....
i know absolutely NOTHING about watches......but customer service is my forte and u knocked it out the park with this man..... u would have been well within your right and what would have been morally right to just hang up on this guys ridiculous request
Once it left his hands, I wouldn’t do anything. You can’t trust people out there anymore! He did say he tried to contact you a few years back, so he might of caught it himself. In that case I would make it right. But I’m sorry but if I bought the watch and caught it, I would of made sure to get in contact with you no matter what to fix the issue. Anyways I love the videos and keep up the great work!
I do not find it hard to believe that a watch and paper mix up could happen. But it is VERY hard to imagine for an end user to not notice the papers don't match. I don't even believe the caller.
He doesn't want to reverse the current deals he have to deal with Marco directly because the papers are fine.
yeah marco offered to buy it back multiple times and the guy waivered, he doesnt even have possession of the watch currently? definitely some type of scam, makes no sense
Have a feeling already watched it 2 times before
You handle it better then I would. I would have laughed and said kick rocks lol
I don't believe for a second that the guy didn't check the serial numbers after buying the watch.
Before even considering buying the watch back I would check every inch of it with that customer present so he can see it for himself. It sounds too suspicious too many hands have touched the watch and those same hands could’ve swapped out parts. Smart move recording the conversation you had with him.
lol... you're like telling a mechanic how to do his job. The man knows was to do lol.
Tell him to wrap his vehicle in your company logo and you’ll buy the watch back
Dude was running game. Good job
You guys should have a store policy that it's the buyer's responsibility to check the papers.
The moment the buyer sold it to the next guy, he lost his credibility to get a refund. How would Marco know that the papers didn't get swapped or whatever else they did.
I’m sure you reviewed everything associated with the watch at the time of sale. I don’t believe they were telling you the truth.
Yeah, 3 years later??? 2 panties hands? I would tell this scammer to kick Rocks
That watch switched hands, good luck to you buddy, click!
The Snake is in the Garden Dude "..
3 yr's 😂🤣
What paperwork would be missing? I bought 2 new Rolexes from an AD and aside from the warranty card and receipt I don't recall any paperwork from Rolex.
Dudes why is the sound so bad at the beginning? It messed the viewing experience
There's no way I'm going to spend 10 minutes on the phone trying to explain anything to this guy. What you told him you could have said in 30 seconds.
Yeah this guy is insane
After 2 years and trading hands twice I would had to tell this gentleman it was no longer my problem. Now as you said he gets the watch back to you without paperwork in good condition and the guts haven't been swapped out I might buy it back for what he paid for it if it was now worth that much without the paperwork. I can't and don't buy watches for 10's of thousands of dollars but I do buy good $500.00 watches and I always check to be sure I received the correct paperwork for the watch I received. And keep it all together in my safe. Over 2 years later he's trying to get "Made whole" with extra money from you naw it's been way to long.
First thing I would've done when buying a expensive watch, was to check the paperwork.. But if 11-12.000USD is pocket change to you maybe it isn't that important 🤷
Sounds like the papers were lost by one of the other purchasers and they replaced them with the wrong ones and now he is trying to come back on you. You gotta decide if this customer is worth refunding the 2 grand to just for future sells and to show the rest of the world that you are willing to go above and beyond. Something to think about.
I can’t even tell what the hell this guy wants beyond what has been offered.
the dude was trying to pull a fast one, wants to be compensated in cash for a 2 year old transaction?
Wow you guys are so nice this type of behaviour would never run in the UK the dealer would literally say ‘you having a fackin laugh mate?’
Marco, you handled that like a true businessman. You owe nothing to the guy, but you still tried to make it right. No one in the business would do that. You think any of the other UA-cam watch dealers would offer that? Dude is a scam artist.
You mean obligated NOT entitled...but what a crazy situation !!
3 years later...
2 transaction parties removed
1 calm BUT unreasonable FORMER customer !!
He's even MADE money on it 😂 and STILL wants compensation he seems chilled but rather naive....
I had the same problem trying to return my Casio to Walmart after 3 years and they wouldn't even give me back the $12 I paid for it and I had THE PAPERS!!!
Lol
why would you even entertain this person after 3 years ?
I cannot do anything for you about the "time" said the Timepiece Gentleman haaaaha
The fact that you didn't immediately tell the guy to fuck off and hang up speaks volumes about your customer service.
I think everyone can learn a lesson here. Even if you buy a watch from a reputable person, like timepiece gentlemen, and you have piece of mind that the watch is legit and everything...you should always always always, once you get the watch check that the papers match the watch. ANYONE, can make a mistake, not to mention you see in older videos how many watches these guys open and lay out on a table, listen, things can happen, papers can get mixed up, people are human. That's why give a quick check that your papers match, and don't trust anyone. The other thing here too is let's say TG did mix up the papers, then there would be another person out there with incorrect papers that probably would have contacted them by now to say hey these papers don't match my watch. The guy on the phone is obviously being scammed. Plus papers on 12k watch are not worth 2k. Maybe 500$. Now if you are talking papers on some vintage patek, maybe. Big scam trying to be pulled on this guy on the phone.
Totally fair offer! Who knows if the gentlemen in a fickle is not the one faking paperwork, you just don’t know. Also nobody has seen the watch yet, so if paperwork is already different could the watch be different too? You’ve gone above and beyond what most dealers would do.
Take pics of the papers is what I get from this........
never been interested in watches but your channel i enjoy
like any transaction after a few years and sold to another person or persons and then comes back to the dealer who sold it to you from the same person who got the watch back is classed as a new deal just because you bought watches in the past does not mean does not mean you as a dealer pays his deal but lost out on it what a bloody nutta
i would have said piss off but that only due to my age as you can not conn a old dog
if i was younger well i would be nice .
enjoying your vids nice one mate.
Love your business ethics
You have a lot of patience!
The icing on the cake would be if the papers actually weren’t wrong.
Ya no, who knows what happened to those paper's.
the customers a goof ball , you guys are def not liable
Is paperwork not available from the manufacturer? I struggle to believe only one hardcopy exists without possibility of getting a duplicate from the factory with the serial number.
Dream job seems more like a nightmare!
There is a fallacy in your argument. Just because the watch has appreciated doesn't invalidate his losses at all. If the watch was worth x% more with correct papers then that x% is a real loss.
That said his argument that he only noticed this issue ~3 years and multiple resales later is completely absurd.
You would think someone with this much money would have the financial intelligence to just check the value and sell it outright understanding the chain of custody and period of time.
Keep up the content, this shit is awesome
contract on issuing receipt that says you are not associated to the watch or papers if the buyer sells or trades the watch, or if the watch leaves possession of the buyer, un-supervised .... i guess you might already do this though.
the handling of the case in the video was generous imo
Flipping two parties down the well - buyer beware
You have to be high to think you can get a refund from something you bought 3+years ago.
I would’ve offered the exact same. That dude was trippn
I don't even understand what the 1 guy was asking?
I rarely comment but c’mon, this customer needs to get real. Yes a vendor is responsible to the customer BUT only up to a point. This guy needs to handle his business…period. Geez!
Good business holding your phone with this guys phone number showing 👍🏼
I like your Mclaren sweater 💪🏻

I don't want to tell you to kick rocks....but kick rocks
seems to me the guy who bought the Daytona from your customer is responsible since he didn't due any due diligence when making the trade. Your customer should tell the guy whom received the watch the same thing your telling him.
Is the sound also laggy at yalls end?
Man I try to help out everyone but this guy seemed extremely questionable. 3 years, multiple transactions, he made a profit and is unwilling to compromise in anyway. I would have been done midway through the call.
Don’t try to make stupid people smart none of that is your responsibility
Gotta re upload this. It cuts out and in over and over and has a short ring in the back ground you can hear.
Damn I know Conor Langley from moda watch club damnnnnn
What else could you have done?!? This is the last buyer's problem. He has owned the watch for weeks
Ain't Nobody Got Time For That!
What was the end result? Did the watch come back?
I like the McLaren jacket!
3 years later go fly a kite! 😂
I almost had a seizure listening to this. Dear lord.
Anything could happen what if somebody changed the movement this watch has already been in too many hands I would tell the customer no I'm sorry
If you’re buying these expensive luxury watches, who in their right mind doesn’t check the papers before making the purchase? (I’ve only seen a couple of your videos afaik that some watches don’t have papers so I’m guessing it devalues the piece.) Seems like common sense but you know that they say about that.
Paper can be faked and high quality super clones which use identical exact 1:1 parts is making smart hustlers a lot of easy money scamming consumers and dealers selling them exactly made fake stuff with real serial numbers engraved and fake papers and box made.
One dude I know made $600k selling fake super clone replica.
Hahaha 😝
This is frustrating to listen to. The patient’s on your behalf is remarkable.
What patient are you referring to?
...excellent customer service. The customer sounds a little fishy tho.
PS. 2 parties down... honestly, I wouldn't have even humored this personally.
Wait, what? If the watch went up in value why doesn’t he pay to get it fixed and then sell it?
You would think someone with that much money is financially intelligent.
Who’s to say the guy didn’t remove the original movement with some fake movement and is trying to swap it back …
Not sure if its pointed out here but the phone number is totally visible on the phone your are holding.
3 years ago...no case la...
He probably wanna scam Marco lor….
Unreal the guy is talking about something from 3 years ago crazy 😳
