      I use a cell booster and it sucks using one 400 dollar piece of scrap metal that only worked for like 2 weeks and yes owning one I can officially say they do catch lightning just like a lightning rod

    at&t in the states has fixed wirless which is kind of like this they have an antenna with a sim card in it im pretty sure that picks up its signal from the cell towers and they run a lan cable inside to the modem and it gives you your own wirless network pretty nice but from what ive seen the landscape does affect it a good bit so trees and buildings if theres too many it wont be strong enough to get through

      @Warden Depends what country you're in though - if I go over my 10Gb a month, it stops all further internet access until I pay a "top up" fee per 1Gb (Australian phone providers). Satellite connection they'll drop your speed to almost dialup speeds once you go over your data cap. Only in larger towns can you true unlimited internet on VDSL connections or better. Internet over 3G and 4G, expect to pay much more and your first born

    • @gytispranskunas4984

      Crazy lol... Most "developed" countries don't have simple things like internet... And in order to get it you have to pay a freaking 80€ haha...
      Even in my poor country Lithuania almost every village have fiber optic 100mb/s to 5gb/s internet... And it cost nothing. Like 10 € for gigabit lol and every single 4G / 5G provider has unlimited data plans for around 20€ a month

      sort of makes you wonder, choose limitless data or living standards.... but it is so annoying how just a little kink in the fibre destroys the connection or how a gust of wind that moves the coaxial cable from the fibre node causes loss of connection. man the Australian government couldn't even install insulation in roofs of houses why did those who voted expect anything better from nbn or gay marriage or led lighting or scoot mofo... don't you get the feeling that living life in Australia is like having sex with a condom on?

    • @resetcoder
      @resetcoder 5 років тому

      @prte100 This is not a booster and not wifi. It is just a plain mobile phone with a much better directional antenna, with lan connection. The transmit power and the frequency range is not other than just an lte supporting smart phone. The power of this device is in its sensitivity and fine tuned antenna, definitely not against the law. Only transmitting with higher power than is legal is against the law, but that is not 100mW in the lte range in the eu, only in the wifi range, but this has nothing to do with wifi.

      My guess is that the antennas gather the signal from the cell towers pretending to be a device, which is why they need a SIM card. And a bit of the hardware handles translating the actual signals into something you can send out via Ethernet port like into your Wifi.
