- We finally got Sylvie tuned with ECUTek thanks to JST Performance! Still can't believe the power numbers she made. Really happy with the outcome!
Mod List:
HKS EL Catted Headers
Tomei Over Pipe
JDL Ultra Quiet Front Pipe
Corsa Catback Exhaust
K&N Airbox Filter/Resinator Delete

I enjoy Auto bleep in my gryaris in the mountains . As corners approach a little quicker on Unfamiliar roads , drivers timing is cut and than it comes into its own .
I agree!
Nice vid! That’s a pretty good amount of power and torque! Planning on installing a jdl turbo kit on my steel GR86 in the following months
Thanks for watching! Same!! Can’t wait to see what the new gens feel like being boosted!
This car came out of factory so well dialed in that it’s hard to get more power with bolts on alone. Just with a charcoal delete and a performance air filter you are getting 5 to 6hp without breaking the bank. Matter of fact, tinkering too much with the car might hurt performance. But I get it, can’t help messing around with your car and chasing that UA-cam money 😊
I do think there are certain things Toyota/Subaru missed the mark on though. The main one (for me) is the throttle response. This might not matter as much to others but I really wish we could adjust the throttle response ourselves in the car settings so there isn't this delay from when I step on the accelerator pedal to when the engine actually does something. I'm coming from a cable throttle car with a damn near instant throttle response so this one aspect is a huge downgrade for me. I'm hoping we get something similar to the Openflash Tablet on the gen 1 because I really don't want to pay $300 just for a throttle controller.
@@AyyGin I ponied up for a pedal commander, super transformative and worth it imo.
@@AyyGin I come from cable actuated cars too & I don’t feel it’s that bad. Maybe because manual Scat Packs throttle-by-wire mapping is so terrible in comparison. My LT4 C4 Vette has the best throttle response I’ve ever felt, but for the Scat I tried a $40 throttle controller off Amazon just to see if It made a difference. It performed amazingly well. Transformative. Still using it over a year later. Zero issues. $40 & has many different settings/modes to dial it in. Does the same as a $300 one, just no phone/Bluetooth control. Set it & forget it. Super easy to install & change settings anyway.
Edit: I drive a manual GR86, not sure if you have a BRZ (or auto) & the throttle mapping is a little more lazy.
@@SereneSpeed I have a 2023 Premium MT. Honestly, it's really only when I'm taking off in 1st gear and rev matches when the throttle delay is most noticeable and somewhat annoying to me. It's a lot more responsive when I'm already on the pedal and just applying more throttle. I've gotten a louder exhaust which also helps lol. I think I'll just keep driving the car as is for another couple of months and see if it's something that still bothers me. Nice to know the cheaper throttle controllers work well too.
Brian is God Tier for everything he touches haha.
100%
That sounds about right for normal gasoline. There should be another 20hp on the table if he switches to E85
I would agree. Really looking forward to going Flex fuel soon.
hey bro! where did u get ur calipers red? did u get an after market break?
My Red Calipers are from a previous gen BRZ, check out my channel for the video on it.
I guess the question is. Is it worth the price?
In my case, yes. It feels better for power delivery. Not sure if I'll use the RaceROM features all the time. With future plans to go for forced induction, this will lower my cost when I go to Turbo because my ECU already has the license.
I just tuned my car, but mine auto blip seems every gear blip same rpm, over 2000 rpm even 6-5, is that adjustable?
My tuner noticed it and adjusted it. I’m not sure if we can do it without the ECUTEK software
@@Catalyst4k How did the tuner's adjustments turn out for you? Is it working well?
@@jonaswang5742 It's working well. It was not useable before the adjustment.
So you spent 2000$+ for 15hp? oof I mean thanks for letting us know what they can reach with bolt ons just seems rather steep to even bother. I sure the powerband feels better.
I will pay just for the blip 😅
Back in the days you spend like less than $1200 for that
@@Carlos.Rivera Of course inflation and people willing to pay the prices to justify them as well
@@tone3560 mind you, that was in 2014-15 with my frs
@@Carlos.Rivera Still...either way still rather steep and no increased value in selling the vehicle. Modifying is a straight luxury because it has no return value in dollars only in "feels"
You got dyno numbers from stock and with bolt ons? Hate to be a buzz kill but you probably spent at least $100 per horse power. You can get nearly the same power gains from pulling the fiberglass filter (aka "The Diaper") and putting in a post MAF pipe. Grant, you don't get the Ecutek features.
E85 flex tune ?
Nope :) Just 93 Oct.
How much was it for the dyno/tune?
I can't remember exactly, but I think I spent around $500 with the ECUtek license included.
What the whp gains
I couldn’t say being I did not do a baseline but compared to other BRZ’s baseline. It’s about a 12 wheel horsepower gain.
wheel specs? thanks!
ua-cam.com/video/EChr1Jo2aFI/v-deo.html Specs in description!
They are a nice little car, but with the wrx, you can spend $700 and get 50 hp.
What percent ur tint window ?
15% 👍
UELs without a tune seems to drop the power from stock. Most BRZs are dynoing at 240hp stock!!
Black shirt would have been hard don’t match too crazy son
I’m lacking in the black shirt department. It would have been hard tho 😂
