I love this Roku mobile app because once it’s always hooked up to my device I can easily go to the mobile channel selection and just tap on any of them to wake my Roku TV right away and let it go straight to the channel for when I walk in, it’ll be already on that channel and I’ll be ready to watch something! This Roku mobile app rocks!!!!
I can tell you my favorite mobile app feature _will be_ the listening/headphones function. When I upgraded to my newest *Roku* device, I didn't have the headphone option on my remote anymore (and I didn't realize it was available for a few dollars more). Now, I'm so glad to learn I can still have access to that going forward! Thank you!

I like the Roku app for live tv? And Pluto tv is awesome so is xmuo? Sometimes I wish the local channels was free? Like CNBC without a subscription? What if I don't have cable I can't watch CNBC without a cable provider? Why do you think I cut the cord? Not to pay ? Isn't that's why most of us cut the cord? If not help me to understand why we want to get rid of cable or we don't want to get rid of cable?
As someone that dropped cable a while ago, I can tell you _my_ reasons at least. With streaming, we still pay for what we're going to be watching (via Netflix, Pluto TV, Fubo TV, etc). But instead of spending our money on virtually hundreds of channels we never use and which require us to go by _their_ schedule, we can now pay for *what we want to see.* Along with the availability to watch it *whenever (and wherever) we want,* instead of on _their_ schedule. Cutting the cord doesn't necessarily mean free television. But it does mean freedom from their schedules, and often freedom from the sponsors interrupting what we watch. I hope this helped. I wish I could have gone into it in more detail. But I must run. 🏃🏼♂️ *Edit:* I mentioned *FuboTV* specifically because I believe you can watch *CNBC* there.
@@baythagod That's a sadly myopic perspective, as there are countless ways in which to cut the cord, I'm unclear as to why you would say I am a shill for Roku. I never even mentioned Roku, as again, there are innumerable ways in which one can _cut the cord._ . . Which was the topic at hand. I don't know what Roku did to you, but you may want to find another use for your time, or someday you could find yourself looking back, with only vague memories of pointlessly wasting your life expressing aggression and anger online.
*@Michelle Grooms,* In the event I didn't explain it well (which is very likely), here's an explanation I wrote to a relative (with a few changes to address what you were asking). I hope you don't mind I simply pasted it here: I last had basic cable service some years ago. The only thing I watched with any regularity was _Turner Classic Movies._ But then my cable provider moved it up to the next tier, so I could no longer watch it with basic service. Cutting the cord allowed me to watch _Turner Classic Movies_ for 1/10th the price. Back when streaming services began, it was considerably cheaper to cut the cord. But now that there are so many _premium_ streaming services, it can become about picking one service for another.¹ And each individual's choice is dependent on what their priorities are. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have found that there are number of UA-cam channels that show a lot of really great shortcuts and tips when it comes to getting *live* television. My only concern has been for live news. And that's not been a problem.² If you have a close group of friends or family, you can each get a service and share access. That's one way to cut down on cost. ··•∶◎∶•·· ¹ ─ I say, _"can"_ because, with the exception of paying for your internet service, most smart TV's and streaming devices still provide for a great deal of _free_ content. Thus resulting in a substantial savings over cable. ² ─ I found a local channel for my streaming device. However, a one-time cost of $12 (on up) can get you an over-the-air antenna so you can still watch local broadcasts.
I need to have a direct channel access like say channel 5.1 on my tv instead of having to d pad all the way through all the channels like say I was on channel 342 and wanted to go to channel 5.1 on my ONN Roku tv? Is there a way to do this it is such a pain in the ….?
I have one question? Will a roku work with a cell tower? I know about WiFi ? I have a roku stick but when I'm on my house boat yes I know I said houseboat? I don't have WiFi yet on my House boat but my Smart phone is from cell tower? Can I set up Roku on a cell tower? If not this is something we need to find out? Because either way I like to know? I love my roku?
It's time that you guys start adding a headphone jack to all of your Roku players instead of just the top tier ones because headphone jacks are not that expensive they're standard on a lot of stuff. Really unnecessary and cumbersome that we have to go through using our phone as a remote don't get me wrong it's beautifully done but it's just ridiculous we have to go through the Roku app on your phone just to go into private listening mode when it's much more simpler just to use your remote if it comes with one which by now should be standard instead of being cheap escapes because once upon a time you guys used to have the headphone jack on all your Roku players regardless of what model it was.
@@baythagod You only make partial sense and besides that as frustrating as it is that they don't make the headphone jack come with all their devices only the top tier ones doesn't mean the company is terrible they still make great products even though they like to cut corners with the headphone jack situation and have people use the android/apple app just to have the option of private listening all because they don't to add a headphone jack to all of their devices and TVs.
It worked with a different Roku TV but now although my new TV appears it is not recognized. It says "No network connection..." which is inaccurate. This disconnection started when I got the new/different TV Roku, and now I very recently also have a new phone. I can't find help from Roku. I've spent hours searching online, on the TV, on my phone via the Roku app, reading.....why won't this work? It was extremely easy before.
That's a nice tip for people who own a phn with Siri. Only u didn't include the people who own Android phn's. Like the Instructions on how to do it with Androids. ☹️
How come I can’t stream Rocky on my iPhone through the app? It keeps telling me that I can’t stream without a connection to a Roku device. I have a Rocky TV but when I try to stream on the phone, it will only go to the remote function and control the TV to watch on the TV and not on my phone.
Also, my app shows only a ‘Home’ icon in the lower left of the screen and not a ‘Roku Channel’ icon which takes me to a page full of Roku TV options, but choose an option and it only wants to connect to a Roku device.
The stick remote control never let the user know when the battery 🔋 is in low level the dish network remote always let the user know when the remote needs new batteries too bad for Amazon too good for Android 🤭

Why is the Roku channel missing off the app. It only has devices, remote or home.
Have you stopped people streaming on the app???
My favorite feature is the Voice Search!
Outstanding video! :)
Pls add The Roku App here in the Philippines I need some features that is only controlable from the Roku App from research.

How can i turn on or off my tv when im not home
I like the app and features but it drains the hell out of my phone battery when not in use. (Android)
