Apparently you can’t. And for some reason, cannot or will not, Roku is not interested in letting us switch out of Roku to use one’s antenna. This Roku You Tube, like others have commented is totally misleading. The title would have you believe that you can watch local channels but then the lady talks about watching local news, this is a deceitful ploy to answer a need that they know their customers have been asking about. I don’t know about current Roku TV’s but my older one does allow me to simply click on local over the air channels, while my new ‘stick’ on a regular TV will not. If there is a simple way to do so that l have missed, l would love to know.
After all the searching for one answer, can I get my local TV? The answer is no, you need to buy on of the streaming packages like you tube TV or whatever one you like, there are many out there. By cutting the cord you get rid of the cable fees, and all there stuff. Im still glad I did it cause my picture is so much better and my streaming stick gives me so much more. I get 51 FREE local tv channels on my antenna in the Michigan Thumb area. I have a 55 inch element Roku TV. I am glad Roku re-added the Charter Spectrum TV app.
For Live TV / OTA how do you change to a specific channel? Hitting the UP or DOWN arrow a million times is not ideal to get to a channel. I've tried various universal remotes, including ones that say they're compatible with ROKU tv but they all have the SAME issue. They cannot do the DASH/DOT for the digital OTA channels (i.e. 3.1, 31.4, 40.1, etc.) And I do not want to have to use the Roku remote app for this. I want to be able to have this done with a remote. Please help with any info, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is annoyed by this.
This is deceptive. You cannot watch local channels on a Roku. If you have a Roku TV then it is no different then any other TV. You simply run an antenna to the back. Many cities do not allow their local news to be rebroadcast through ROKU. I put an antenna on my roof and receive 28 plus channels for free. If you have an HOA the FCC forbids HOA's from trying to prevent you from installing an antenna.
Hi John, all of the channels listed are available on Roku streaming players, audio, and Roku TVs. You're correct that the antenna section applies to Roku TVs. Thanks for watching!

Well, UA-camTV claims they have local channels, but when I go to their web page, everything there is so vague - and they don't explain what they mean by "local channels" - nothing definitive and they are the priciest streaming system at $73 a month. Other streaming services are even MORE vague - not saying anything definitive you can actually understand -- just like here with Roku. Why is it so difficult for them to lay it out exactly as it is with NO BS???!!! And WHY hasn't Roku developed their own full-service paid streaming service with actual local broadcast channels???!!! ---- And without a cable, dish, or paid streaming service, there is no way to record programs to watch later. They conveniently took care of that by somehow forcing all the DVR manufacturers to stop selling TV recording devices for home use. If the FCC ever wanted to do anything constructive for home users - they would force this issue to put it back the way it was for us.
What's your favorite way to watch local channels?

This didn't help what I'm looking for.
💥WARNING: CLICKBAIT: you CAN NOT get "local" channels on a Roku device. Unless you have a Roku "TV" you will not be able to get "local" channels. The woman in this video loves the sound of her own voice, she "loves" hearing herself talk😆
My onn TV doesn't show any antenna selection. I plugged in an old channel box but lost 30 channels. What now?
Why do my live ROKU local news channels default to Florida? I live 600 miles away...
I'm using the right zip code in settings but that makes no difference.
I watch my local channels with a regular antenna
All you have to do is go to settings then go to tv input pick live tv then will ask you do you want to setup channels say yes
I want to watch CBS, Antenna don't work for that channel
It is weird. IN west Allis I got All the Mikwaukee Locals, but now I moved to the city of Milwaukee and Get less Milwaukee Locals at this house. LOL
The internet is a strange place. I was able to actually look up where one site thought I was. I mean the exact address. It was about 2 hours away. Weird.
So how do I get my local channels without dancing around the answer? 😊
I don't have a Roku TV and my Roku soundbar doesn't give me an option to setup a HDTV antenna to stream broadcast channels. Help!
We don't care about news, they want programming and sports. You need a antenna, and I used a AirTV box that connected all 70plus channels I get on my antenna to my free Sling account so instead of being limited to just that tv I can watch my antenna on any phone, Roku, firestick etc. I added a hardrive and get 70 hours of recording I program off the guide which lists my local channels as well. This has worked out the best.
can u add local ABC,NBC,CBS,FOX channels to fire stick, roku?
Hi, I am from Romania and I got a Hisense roku 55 inch r55a7200gtuk from Uk, but when I try to find local channels it says “No channels found”. What should I do? I am begging you, help me someone 😔
In the US I bought a TV antenna off of Amazon, 20 dollars, plugged it into the TV, up popped the local channels.
Just for the record, there is no such thing as an HDTV antenna. But in fairness you'll see a lot of ads for HDTV antennas.
Some of these antenna companies could have just said "an antenna for your HDTV".
Yea. It's B.S. I was telling everyone as well when THE BIG SWITCH happened.
