I totally forgot what that episode was about, and the moment I searched for it and saw the images, I teared up.
Episode 10 was possibly the most heart wrenching, tear inducing, horribly depressing, just plain sad single episode of an anime/show I’ve ever seen. I knew it was coming the whole time and still got destroyed
This is such an important episode for Violet, she finally has to face her demons. Saved by the love of her friends 🥲

I know everyone loves 10, and it is very good, but this one is my fave
Favoriteness spreads from one episode to all others as a whole. Episode 10 is as it is because of 9, and 9 because of 8 and so on ^^. At the end we like it as a whole masterpiece. Also this closes one arc
this is my favorite as well, it’s so many emotions in this episode and she overcomes them.
Violet Evergarden is masterful in it's depiction of a combat veteran trying to overcome PTSD and adjustment disorder. Violet has to learn how to feel again. She has to learn to love herself, but you can't do that without confronting your demons.

I like how the book tells us that Gilbert just wanted her to know she was loved, believing they might both die there, only for Violet to not know what he’s talking about. Gilbert realizes he can’t tell her because she never learned about love, because if anyone would have taught Violet it would have been him, but he never did. Now he won’t get the chance to.

@@TukaihaHithlec ahh that's kinda justify his actions in the movie, and i think it's also the extreme PTSD of his survivor guilt, it's hinted but not really being fleshed out. like that whole village worth of men were gone, he must have truly realized how ugly war is and feeling somewhat responsible for what happened.
Don't know if you've searched the meaning of violet in the flowers language, I did after it got brought up so many times especially after this episode, and the modern meaning is innocence, modesty and true, everlasting love while the ancient greeks and romans also gave it the meaning of death and suffering, all traits that in a way can fit the aspects of Violet we saw but probably Gilbert gave it for the modern meanings

The attempt to strangle herself always hits me really hard due to my own past and my own attempts to do the same. I identify with Violet so much in her many aspects of her life. That despair was so raw and relatable.
Looking forward to the reaction to episode 10, as is everyone lol. I know you watched it a while ago, but I hope any comments about it didn't raise your expectations too high!

The thing i liked about claudia is that he did not deny the fact that violet had killed people. And that the past cant be erased. It does not matter whether she was forced to do it or she just mindlessly did it. No one cn deny the fact that she took so many lives and those ppl had their own loved ones they promised to return back to. I like how this show shows no matter how guilty u feel, accept what u did, and move on with ur life with the regret in the back of ur mind for u to not repeat the same mistakes ever again.

Of all the sad shows I've seen, Clannad might be the most hard hitting. The first season is okay (kind of a slog in places), but it's 100% worth the payoff that is After Story.
Ep 10 is THE episode of this season. And the most important one because of the payoff not only end of episode but end of series.

This story touched my heart. Even my old self couldn't stop crying. My life was full of regrets, but it made me want to live the rest of my life to the fullest.
This Episode is the second hardest of the series to get through.
It’s so painful to see Violet suffering, but it’s so understandable.
I mentioned in the last episode that there’s a review of this series by a front line Afghanistan veteran, and he said this episode hits closest to home for him because he’s been there, and he’s seen many of his brethren in the same position, and many who have taken their own lives from the guilt of their actions.
