Tricking a Decent Truckee River Brownie in Deteriorating Spring River Conditions

I've been on the sidelines for a while with work and life duties. No fishing = No fun. Had a couple hours free during the lunch hour so hit the urban Truckee. Almost didn't fish due to the stained, rising water (due to warm temps and snow runoff) and inability to get a cast and retrieve without my jig becoming encapsulated in slime and leaves. Glad I gave it a whirl. Only one bite but it was solid-size predatory brown that made an appearance. Just goes to show ya, you always have at least some chance to catch a fish as long as you're out there and not sitting on the couch!
