    The amount of renown needed to get class exp +1 is 2000, not 3000-whatever. The number you see on the statue itself is the TOTAL amount of renown needed to get to the bonus, not the amount that particular tier needs. You can confirm this by observing that the numbers decrease every time you buy an upgrade. In this way, every statue requires a total of 10,000 renown to fully restore.

    • @7Sarutan7
      @7Sarutan7 5 років тому

    Slight correction on renown. U get them from quests, not just aux battles. So all that stuff u get to do each month exploring gets u that. Also, the renown needed is cumulative. Meaning u just need 2000 on that statue to get the first class mastery. Watch as u spend points the values go down

    You get class exp for every engagement regardless of if you attacked or not, so to grind out class xp I'd trap an archer (surround all 4 tiles) and move the unit i want to grind within his range amd just keep letting them attack. Also on maps you can create a chokepoint where an enemy will always attack the same unit (unequip your weapon so you don't kill the enemy) when i set this up I've been able master 5 classes in one map.

    Also, depending on unit, Master Classes aren't the end all best classes. The Advanced classes are sometimes at least at parity with some, with exception for Sniper to Bow Knight. Gremory is female locked, meaning male mages best magic option is either Bishop, Dark Bishop, or Warlock.
    Assassin is arguably better than swordmaster, based on the added movement and the fact that terrain impediments don't affect them, plus free lockpickers. There isn't any real good reason for Mortal Savant to exist, as magic has so few uses without magic type-use X2.
    I feel like master classes in general weren't properly planned out and balanced. Great Knight feels like a direct upgrade for units already focusing on Heavy Armor, but the majority of them are mounted and feel too similar to matter.

    • @umbradens6129
      @umbradens6129 5 років тому +7

      Mortal Savant felix breaks the game. Kills everything in one range with swords doubles and high crit chance. has thunder to off high defense units and thoron for 3 range. He can also off heal but he should be killing things. Mortal Savant just isnt the end of the Male magic class line as a counterpoint to germory but as the end of the sword master line.

    • @QwixLF
      @QwixLF 5 років тому +1

      @@umbradens6129 Okay, but a forged bolt axe is 30 durability versus 6 tops and it is still 1-3 range. Still runs off magic stat, plus can use it regardless of class. A magic bow+ can also cover the gap if your willing to run Close Counter. Good option of bow knight, also does 1-3 range in that situation, still has decently high crit chance, still tears through armored units plus does okay against high resistance units like falcon knight due to bonus damage. Mortal savant looses out in mobility compared to any mount and in the case of great knight, a large amount of defense. Wyvern Lord/Falcon knight for maps that have foot hindrances, though you lean on raw avo more than defense/resistance. Axe/lancefaire in all those classes compare to Mortal Savant's swordfaire... After completing the game, here are my tips:
    Mastery for Warmaster grants 2x attack for counters.
    Mastery for wyvern rider (the advanced class not master), seal defence that -6 defence to anyone that you hit.
    Luna the dark magic is absolutely broken, with a high level mage class can hit bosses for 70-80 damage without critical.
    Bow accuracy falls off above 2 square range, no point max range sniping unless you are trying to not getting countered.
    If you are playing on easy, get academy training for belyth for riding, magic, flying, heavy armour, ASAP. Once you can reclass into classes that uses those skills, you can grind it out in unlimited fights.
    So far strongest classes I have found are: sword master(even compared to master classes, astra is ridiculous), Gremory, falcon knight and bow knight. Warmasters have low res and tend to die quickly to magic. Dragon masters don’t have much accuracy and die to arrows hard. Black and white knights suffers hard from riding weakness and is weaker on speed, if your Gremory have a magic flaire, there is no point using magic knight class once you get that skill at s+ rank.
    Lystheria is by far imo the strongest magic user, followed by Mercedes.
    Byleth is good for swords and bows but otherwise try Claude (if you are golden deer) or Felix/Catherine/Shamir.
    Tanks can be anyone imo, Alios is alright, raphael is alright, they don’t make much of a difference.
    Cyril should have a special mention if you build him right he excel at pretty much anything physical. Recommend a warmaster or a dragon master approach.

    • @Azelarc
      @Azelarc 5 років тому

      I have some points to add in grinding skill ranks/levels in unlimited battle or even regular battle.
      Get one or two "training" weapons of each type and break them. Wear that on the character you want to grind on.
      If you're lucky and got a battle map with a lot of trees, move your unit to it and make sure there are also trees in all 4 directions around that unit.
      Press A on space without any unit and choose option, turn off "Automatic Cursor".
      Now you can spam pressing A on empty space, end turn, then press + to skip enemy turn.
      I don't know if there is "Retreat" option in hard mode but if there is, you can also do this.
      If all the enemies are moving, be careful not to have them all killed, if there is an enemy not moving, you can relax and keep spamming.
      Once there is only one unit left / you got to the point where you want to reclass or change unit to grind, go retreat and do everything all over again as much as you want.
      You won't get rewards but your weapons and consumables will be replenished to how they were (if you used a weapon with durability remaining). A good way to keep the map you want too, since unlimited battle map is based on rng.
      Have a ranged weapon in the unit's inventory too so they can kill the mages (and bow users) that can ruin the grind. Just don't put close counter ability on them if they have one. If you have goddess ring or prayer ring, equip one and you won't worry as much for your unit's health.
      If you can assign adjutants, assign one to the unit you're grinding, they'll also gain skills and class mastery points, except "Authority", that is.

    I like how excited he is over wrath, because it is really good in this game, but in Thracia 776 it was even crazier, with a guarenteed crit whenever the unit counterattacked. The first character you get with wrath is named Orsin and with that skill, his personal axe the Pugi (though the most recent and complete translation refers to it as the Bhuj), and a Thracia only mechanic in the form of his x3 pursuit critical coefficient, he becomes the most reliably critting character in the series. As in, he is guaranteed to crit every counterattack and every enemy he doubles (and still has a really good 40% crit rate against those he doesn't) at base level starting in chapter 1 with a 1-2 range weapon.

For example if you level up brawling to B you will learn the Healing Focus combat art that cost 0 points to use. Every time a unit is in battle their class EXP increases, so you could also just unequip weapons if you don't want the big avo/AS penalty.
      However you need to attack in order to boost weapon EXP, and damage enemies to get regular EXP. You'll also get Authority as long as you have a battalion with an endurance above 0, and Armored/Mounted EXP if you're in a class that has those attributes.

    That said, if you get access to Luna he’s much more killable, I had Lysithea finish him after setup gambits with ease.

    The offensive blows are really good (Death, Fiendish, Darting)
    Lethality is bad but if you're going assassin for the great speed stat it's fine to pick up

    • @avaman1993
      @avaman1993 5 років тому +1

      Later in the game you can buy infinite master seals from Anna.
      As for your question, the answer is yes, save for pure healers and assassins.
      Pure healers are units that, for stat related purposes (usually crappy speed or magic) are fundamentally useless as offensive units (save for killing armored enemies, which are walking targets for any magic class in the game anyway). There's an advanced class specialized in healing which gives some useful abilities, if you were to promote a pure healer to a master class like gremory or holy knight you would loose some of those benefits while obtaining some pointless buffs for its role. As for assassins, no master class needs a proficiency in both bows and swords, and none has the picklocking ability that makes most maps with chests a breeze.
      Female magicians go-to master class is gremory because it's a good all rounder class, and usually most magicians are skilled in both light and black magic. That being said the classes dark/holy knight are pretty good for offensive oriented magicians, with the holy knight terrain effect negation being pretty good. The lance/riding grades needed however make them a pain in the ass, save for hubert which has an hidden talent in lance that gets him a magic based attack, all the other characters need to train in school for those grades because in no way they would be able to learn them in battle, since previous horse classes can't use magic (you wouldn't bother classing a magician as an horse rider untill they reach the master class).
      Long story short, to get magic riders, once you reach level 20 and promote to an advanced class, start to teach them lance/riding shit asap.
      Same story for bow users. Bow knights are fucking cool.
      For melee fighters it's kinda easier.
      Armored units ->armored knights. They loose a ton of defensive power in the transition, however there are plenty of battles in the game where movement is far more important than tanking capabilities.
      Sword users->magic samurai (forgot the name)
      Wyvern/pegasus advanced versions -> wyvern/pegasus master versions
      Brawlers -> Grappler.

    A certain recurring boss carries dark seals and you get them when you defeat them. So far, I've seen them 3 times, but the first time they are a bit hard to kill imo.

      recruit the pink hair loli she’s a mage, her luna skill will reduce 60% of that certain enemy (who hold the dark seal) and if u lvl her up she gets an attack that pew pew enemies riding horses easily which is 1 hko to that shitty bastard and you just got your 3 dark seals

    It really, REALLY sucks that you can only buy Renown unlocks in order, instead of just being able to pick what you want. I hate that.

    Is there an easy way to gain class xp for a character. My characters end up killing everything and if i give them broken weapons instead they get killed.

    Can someone tell me why I and enemies can sometimes attack twice? I know that fist weapons automatically do this but sometimes I can do this with other weapons and I"m not seeing the pattern at all. I was able to do with with a mini bow but not the steel bow plus on one unit. Then on another I could do it with an iron lance and not the steel one.

      A unit gets a double attack if it has 4 more AS (attack speed) than its opponent. Attack speed is based on the speed stat. Units attack speed is lowered by the Wt (weight) of their weapons and equipment, so its harder to get a double attack with a heavier steel lance than with a basic iron lance. Gauntlets and fists also get a free follow up attack, but not when defending. Hope this helps!

    The master classes in this game are pretty disappointing imo. Defiant abilities are boring, And working up riding/flying/armor skills are a chore if the previous classes don't already have them. I'd have most of my units stay at advanced classes if not for the stat bonuses

    Why use poison strike when your cutting and one shotting

    • @Kazaandu
      @Kazaandu 5 років тому +1

      I found Poison strike to be INCREDIBLY useful against the bigger monsters in the game. If you use a poison strike character to kill a health bar on a monster, the poison is applied to the next health bar, making the next (and usually more dangerous health bar) easier to finish off.
